The Right Fit
for Any Piano Lover
Roland’s new FP-2 Digital Piano offers true acoustic grand piano sound,
touch and expression in a compact and lightweight body.
Full of big features like powerful built-in speakers and a USB-MIDI Interface,
as well as functions for live performance and composing,
it’s not just ideal for stage or studio, but also the right choice for your home.
Whether you’re a hobbiest or a pro, and no matter where you play it,
you’ll love the new musical possibilities this instrument offers.
Stylishness and
functionality redefined
Rich, realistic piano sound
The FP-2 incorporates Roland’s finest stereo-
sampled concert grand piano sounds, for the most
realistic piano playing experience possible. The 64-
voice sound engine delivers the same breadth of
expression and natural dynamic richness, right
down to the most delicate nuance. So notes in the
upper range are clear and sparkling, while notes in
the lower range are powerful, vigorous and
resonant. The FP-2 gives you the sort of
unparalleled expression and outstanding piano
sound that are only possible with Roland.
Expressive, natural piano touch
Roland specially developed a new Progressive
Hammer-Action Keyboard for the FP-2’s compact
body. This full-sized, 88-note keyboard has a
realistic touch resistance that provides a lighter
response on pianissimo passages and a heavier
response on fortissimo passages. It also features a
dynamic touch weight variation—with a heavier
touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the
upper range—faithfully simulating the natural feel
and playing performance of an acoustic grand
piano. The FP-2 will deliver each delicate nuance of
your fingers.
*The FP-2 in this photo is shown assembled with Music Stand
and Pedal (both included), as well as the optional FPS-11A Keyboard Stand.
Unique Sound Control with 4-band EQ
The FP-2 is Roland’s first digital piano with
Sound Control, an easy-to-use feature that
instantly enhances the lower register of the piano
sounds for a deeper, richer tone. A 4-band digital
equalizer is also available, making it possible to
precisely tailor the onboard piano sounds to your
liking. It’s perfect for professional pianists on
stage—or even for use in a recording studio.
Play along with the Session Partner
The FP-2 features the Session
Partner, a function that has
been wildly popular on the FP-3
and FP-5 models. This function provides instant
backing in a variety of musical styles, such as Ballads,
Jazz and Latin. It has 80 realistic rhythm and
accompaniment patterns including 12 new styles.
You can choose to play along with a full
accompaniment of chords, bass and drums. You can
even program your own chord progressions. It’s ideal
for composing or for drafting a performance.
Lots of other features
Try the metronome. Use the convenient 3-track
recorder to save and playback your performance.
Connect to a computer via USB and use it as a sound
source for sequencing or as a high-quality controller.
The piano is GM2-compliant too, so you can use it
with Standard MIDI Files. Writing music or just sitting
down to play has never been easier or
more fun.
Stylishly compact design
With its lightweight, compact body and stylish, contemporary design, the FP-2 is an attractive addition to any
room you play it in. Its sleek silver finish, refined lines and powerful onboard speakers with vibrant, responsive
sound make it the ideal piano for your home. But it’s just as well suited for the stage or private studio. It looks
and sounds great anywhere!
