nience.

When you use an appliance, basicprecautionsshould always befollowed,

0 Lookonyourvacuumcleanerandfollow

cleaner. Watchcloselywhen thevacuum

0 Do not touch the plug or the vacuum
cleaner with wet hands.
0 Unplugthevacuumcleaner if you leave
the room. Unplug
it when it is not in use
and before you service
it.
.Turn allcontrolsto"0FF"beforeunplug-
gingthe vacuum cleaner.
0 Do not pull on the cord to unplug the
vacuum cleaner. Graspthe plug instead.
0 Do not use the power cord to pull or
carrythevacuumcleaner. Donot usethe
powercord as a handle. Do notshut any
door on the cord or pullthe cord around
sharp edges or corners. Kee the cord
away from heated surfaces.

before connecting for removinghose.
0 Warning: Electricshock couldoccur if
used on wet surfaces. Do not exposeto
rain, store indoors.
0 Do not use an extension cord with this
cleaner.
0 Keep end of hose, wands and other
o enings away from your face and body.
&ep your hands. feet, hair and clothing
away rommovingparts.
0 Only use attachments and hoses rec-
ommendedbythemanufacturer. Usethe
vacuum cleaner only as stated in this
manual.
0 Do not pick up anything that is hot,
smokingor burning. Do not pick upciga-
rettes, hot ashes or matches.

0 Do not putany object intothe vacuum
cleaner vent or other openings. Do not
turnthevacuumcleaneronif somethingis
blockingan opening. Keep vents free of
thingsthatslow airflow, such asdust, lint
and hair.
0 Do notusethevacuumcleanerwithout
dustbag or filters inplace.
0 Bemostcarefulwhenvacuumcleaning
on stairs.
0 Donot use the vacuum cleaner to pick
up flammable or combustible liquids or
fumes, such as gasoline, or use in areas
where they may be present.
0 Keep the vacuum cleaner on the floor.
Onlythehand-heldvacuumcleanersmay
be set on furniture.

Thiscleaner contains athermal protector which will automatically
shut off the current flow at abnormallyhigh motor temperatures. If the
thermalprotectorisactivated
- unplugthe cleaner and inspectthe
exhaust, inlet,hose, paper bag and secondary filter for any blockage.
Oncethe motor coolsthe current'sflow will be reactivated.

slight tugto be sure
it is inplace
securely.

place,you are ready to begin
vacuuming.

ATTACHMENT INSTALLATIONAND REMOVAL
1. Choose any of the handy
A
accessoriesto meet your
various cleaningneeds. Then
simply push
it firmly onto the
hose or wand end
(A).
2. The hosecanbe usedalone. It
can be usedwith many combi-
nationsof wands andtools.
3. To remove atool or wand, pull
thetwo apart gently. You may
rotatethe attachmentback and
forth a littleto makethe re-
movaleasier.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE:
UNPLUG CLEANER BEFORE
CHANGING PAPER BAG.
CLEANER MUST HAVE PAPER
BAG IN PLACEAT ALL TIMES.
PAPER BAG REMOVALAND INSTALLATION
Checkto be sure your CAN VAC
hasone paper baginplacebefore
you beginvacuuming.
1. Remove hose if it is in place
fromthe face of the cleaner.

2. Depressdoor release buttonto
opendoor andexposepaper
If your CAN VAC has no paper
insertinplace,follow these easy
baginstallationsteps.
3. Place afresh paper bag intothe
bagchamber withthe cardboard
collarfacing you
(B).
4. Be sure the paper bag is placed
back intothe chamber so the
cardboardcollar isflush
with the
front edge of the CAN VAC.

5. Snapthe bottomtwo corners of
thecardboardcollar behindthe
two clipsalongthe bottomedge
of the chamber. Your newbag
is now secure.
6. Closethe door and besure it
snaps shut tightly.
If your paper bagisfull and you'd
liketo replace it witha fresh bag,
follow instructions
#I and #2 and
thenbeginat #7. (Youcantell
your bag needs replacedwhen
you experience low performance
withthe CAN VAC.)
7. After removingthe hose and
openingthe CAN VAC door,
simply graspthe cardboard
collar andpullthefullpaper bag
towardyou (C).
8. Carrythe full bagto awaste
receptacle and dispose of it.
You may now follow #3-#6 to place
afresh bag inyour CAN VAC.

CORDWRAPAND QUICK RELEASE
1. Your cordcan be easily
wrappedaroundthe two cord
hooks providedunderneaththe
CANVAC.
2. Turnthe CANVAC on end as
shown
(A).
3. Wrap the cord around one cord
hook andthenthe other.
4. To releaseyour cordwithout
unwindingit, push inthe black
quick cordreleasetab
(B).
Your power cordwill now PI
off inone coil.

INSTALLATIONAND REMOVAL OF CONVENIENT
SHOULDER STRAP
(optional)
1. Squeezetogetherthe clipon
one endof the strap.
2. Insertthe clip intoone of the
grooves (onefront, one back)
on CANVAC (A).
NOTE: Clipmay break if not
installedproperly.
3. Do the same stepsfor the
remainingclip and groove. Your
CAN VAC can now becarried
on your shoulderwhile you
clean abovethe floor
(B).
