Dear customer,
The PODOLOG®MOON comfort treatment couch is the basic model in the new range
of couches. Solid, functional and featuring a modern design, it offers everything
the entry-level customer needsfor a great value price.
Good stability thanks to the base with plastic cover, hydraulic oil pump for a height
adjustment of 20cm from a mounting height of 54cm to a treatment height of 74cm.
The seat surface tilts 12 degrees (Trendelenbourg setting) to facilitate work
in the plantar area. The backrest can be tilted variablyto a fully flat position.
The upper part can be rotated all round and can be locked with the foot lever. The leg
and foot rests have an extension length of approx. 67cm. The moulded wood armrests
are fixed – folding armrests are available as an option.
These operating instructions describe the basic functions and applications of the treat-
ment couch. Please read these operating instructions carefully before commissioning the
device.
This treatment couch was manufactured in Germany with great care and is subject to
permanent quality checks. Nevertheless, if you are not satisfied or if you have questions
please contact our service department.We sincerely thank you for the trust you have

INTENDED PURPOSE
The PODOLOG®MOON comfort is used for supporting customers in a sitting or
reclining position for the duration of treatment under supervision (maximum 6-7
hours). It can be variably adjusted from a sitting position to a flat position.
It is designed for use in practices for podiatry, foot care, cosmetics, wellness,
orthopaedics, diabetic outpatient foot clinics, and/or medical practices/medical
clinics.
The PODOLOG®MOON comfort must only be occupied by one person with
a maximum weight of 150 kg. Under no circumstances should two or more
persons use the treatment chair simultaneously (danger of falling, bone
fracture and injury).
ANY OTHER USE IS NON-INTENDED USE!
Conversions, modifications, attachment of supplemental equipment that is not
provided by the manufacturer are not permitted. Exceptions can only be approved
by the manufacturer in writing.
Only use original spare parts for repairs.
IF THE DEVICE IS NOT USED AS INTENDED, ALL LIABILITY IS EXCLUDED
AND THE WARRANTY IS RENDERED NULL AND VOID!
Intended use also includes compliance with all instructions, safety notices and
regulations specified in these operating instructions.
USAGE SITE
The PODOLOG®MOON comfort may only be operated in dry rooms.

IMPORTANT USE REGULATIONS
Positioning of the chair
Push the couch far enough away from the wall that when moving the back sec-
tion into a low position, the back section cannot be stopped by the wall.
Armrests, backrest, foot supports
Do not sit on the armrests, foot supports or on the head end of the back section.
Only use the armrests for arm support. Any other type of use is prohibited (dan-
ger of falling, danger of injury). The safe work load is 20 kg.
Load
Die PODOLOG®MOON comfort must only be occupied by one person with a
maximum weight of 150 kg. Under no circumstances should two or more per-
sons use the treatment chair simultaneously (danger of falling, bone fracture
and injury).
Moving parts
Do not reach into moving parts (mechanical elements). Significant injuries can
occur. The cushion is a component of the treatment chair.
General note
The daily function check includes checking all movement sequences as de-
scribed under point "Operation" from page 26.

ADJUSTMENT OF CALF SUPPORT AND FOOT SUPPORT
For an optimal ergonomic mode of operation, the patient's leg or foot is brought
into different positions. For this, the support for calf and foot offers versatile adaptation.
SWINGING DOWN THE CALF SUPPORT AND FOOT SUPPORT
So that you do not need to lift the entire weight of your patient's leg yourself, you are
assisted by powerful gas pressure springs. To adjust calf and foot support, activate the
release mechanism 1.11 and select the desired position. This position will be reliably held
by the gas pressure springs.

RISK OF INJURY/DAMAGE
To prevent the foot support from falling downward, and thus either injuring the
clinician or damaging the treatment chair, firmly hold the foot support when
releasing the arrest.
When moving the treatment chair downward, the foot supports must always be
retracted, otherwise when setting down the foot rests on the floor plate, either
the floor plate and/or the foot supports can be damaged.
MAINTENANCE TASKS AND REPAIRS MUST ONLY BE EXECUTED BY
SPECIALISTS AUTHORIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
IF THIS INSTRUCTION IS NOT COMPLIED WITH OR ALL LISTED POINTS

DISINFECTION, CLEANING AND CARE
Danger of damage due to the wrong care of artificial leather and wood
surfaces!
For protective cleaning of the surfaces use a soft cotton cloth that is also suitable
for wood surfaces. Caution: Cleaning cloths with plastic fibres can have an abrasi-
ve effect and consequently they can damage the surface.
Take great care in ensuring that the cleaning utensils used are clean. If mineral
contaminants such as grains of sand or dust are embedded in the cleaning agents,
this can destroy the surface.
Do not use any concentrated disinfectants, solvents or cleaning agents or liquids
that contain alcohol (>50 % alcohol component).
Do not use spray disinfectants.
Do not use any scouring agents, such as abrasive cleaners, cleaning sponges or
similar items that may contain abrasive particles.
Residues of leaked fluids must be removed from the surface immediately with a
soft cloth.
Over time, traces of use can appear on the surfaces. These are more or less notice-
able depending on light incidence. They do not constitute a lessening of utility, but
rather, as is the case with all surfaces over the long term due to the wear involved
in the daily routine of the medical practice, they cannot be avoided.
Spots or stains caused by liquids that may corrode the surface (such as propolis,
tea tree oil, cleaners that contain chlorine or similar substances) are categorically
excluded from the warranty.
Danger due to disease transmission!
Insufficient disinfection can result in transmission of disease. Always comply with
the requirements of the responsible national body for hygiene and disinfection.
Disinfect the product on a regular basis: After every treatment, the foot and calf
supports, armrests, head and neck cushions are wiped with alcohol-free RUCK
disinfecting cloths (item no. 2942801) or RUCK®alcohol-free MAXI fleece cloths
(item no. 2944101). When the treatment is completed, the seating and back sur-
face and the hand and foot switches are wiped with alcohol-free RUCK disinfec-
ting cloths (item no. 2942801) or RUCK®alcohol-free MAXI fleece cloths (item
no. 2944101). Leave the surface disinfection on the product to take effect for the
time stated by the manufacturer.

DISINFECTION, CLEANING AND CARE
Differences in the wood grain pattern
For the "walnut" wood veneer, the surface can vary in colour and wood grain
pattern from chair to chair. This is not grounds for a complaint, but rather an
expression of the naturalness and uniqueness of the real wood veneer used.
Cushion discolouration due to articles of clothing
Clothing, such as jeans, can cause discolouration of the cushion surfaces.
As soon as they appear, try to remove discolouration residues because other-
wise they may become embedded in the cushion cover and can then no lon-
ger be removed. To remove, use a soft cotton cloth with a pH-neutral soap
and water. Then use the RUCK®disinfecting cloths containing alcohol (item
no. 2940401) or a cleaner containing alcohol (alcohol content <50%). RUCK
recommends that you use disposable plastic covers wherever possible. After
cleaning and disinfection, surface disinfectants must be allowed to effectively
evaporate before the next treatment; i.e. allow surface disinfectants to tho-
roughly dry as specified by the manufacturer, but do not wipe surfaces dry.
Cushion wear
Because the cushions of the treatment chair are constantly subjected to significant
stress, we recommend replacement after approx. three years (with normal use).
You can easily replace all cushions on your own (see p. 41).

FITTING CUSHIONS
As shown in the illustrations below, the cushions of the treatment couch can be replaced
individually by loosening the screws.
