Dear customer,
The PODOLOG®MOON PROFESSIONAL and MASTER are the two top models of the
new chair series from RUCK. Tested and approved as a Class 1 medical product, the
PROFESSIONAL can bear loads of up to 250 kg the MASTER can bear loads of up to 200
kg. The MOON series gets its unique character through the laminated wood elements
that can be selected in natural walnut or with a white CPL coating. It represents the unified
perfection of ergonomics for the practitioner and comfort for the patient. Other options
are leg support adjustment via a magnetic extension without rotary knob, the electrical
leg height adjustment, a back inclination adjustment with patient switch and a special soft
cushion. A newly developed foot switch has four memory functions and can be individu-
ally configured for up to three clinicians.
These operating instructions provide a basic introduction to the functions and use of the
treatment chairs. At the same time they are a fixed component of the medical product
and thus must be kept on hand in the immediate vicinity for all users. Please read these
operating instructions carefully all the way through before commissioning the device.
This treatment chair has been manufactured with the greatest care for you in the RUCK
FACTORY in Neuenbürg Germany and is subject to permanent quality control. Neverthe-
less, if you are not satisfied or if you have questions please contact our service depart-
ment.

The PODOLOG®MOON PROFESSIONAL treatment chair is equipped with up to five electric motors.
The motors can be activated individually or via the memory buttons. A separate motor is used for ad-
justment of the seat section and back section, as well as the height adjustment. The treatment chair
can be rotated manually and the leg supports can be adjusted via gas pressure springs, or optionally
they can be adjusted via electric drives. The foot supports can be fixed in place via clamp levers or
optionally via magnetic switches.

Electromagnetic influence
Because of EN 60601-1-2 relating to the electromagnetic compatibility of electri-
cal medical devices, we must draw your attention to the following:
• Medical electrical devices are subject to special precautionary measures in
terms of electromagnetic compatibility and must be operated in accordance
with the requirements specified in these operating instructions.
• Portable and mobile high-frequency communication devices (including acces-
sories, such as antenna cable and external cables) can influence medical elec-
trical equipment. Such devices should be operated at a minimum distance of
30 cm away from the treatment chair.
Otherwise the possibility of device performance impairments cannot be exclud-
ed. See page 42, Information concerning electromagnetic compatibility.
The compliance criteria relating to immunity to interference apply to all functional
impairments.

SAFETY NOTICES
Comply with the German Medical Devices Directive (MPBetrV)!
The owner must instruct the users, make the operating instructions accessible
and ensure (verifiably) that these operating instructions have been read and un-
derstood.
Danger due to electrical energy
Danger due to electrical energy can occur through: Performing the wrong main-
tenance tasks on the transformer, using "NON-ORIGINAL PARTS" in the trans-
former area, failure to unplug the mains plug for maintenance tasks, running over,
damaging the mains cable. Maintenance tasks must only be executed by author-
ized specialists.
If the chair is not in use, always unplug the mains plug. The chair must not be
electrically adjusted, under any circumstances, as long as people are within the
movement range of the chair.
Interference with other electrical devices can occur under certain circumstances.
Protective devices
Safeguards and cladding elements are installed for the protection of the patient
and user. They must not be removed, changed or bypassed.

Maintenance and safety instructions
The prescribed maintenance tasks, as specified under point "MAINTENANCE"
on page 34 must always be executed.
IF THIS REQUIREMENT IS NOT SATISFIED, THE GUARANTEE WILL
LAPSE AND WE CANNOT ACCEPT LIABILITY!
Daily function checks
Prior to each treatment the checks listed below must be executed:
• All electrically adjustable sections, such as back and height adjustment, must
be checked for functionality via the foot switch.
• General visual inspection
IF THIS REQUIREMENT IS NOT SATISFIED, THE GUARANTEE WILL
LAPSE AND WE CANNOT ACCEPT LIABILITY!
Initial check for faults
If operation is no longer ensured without restriction, or if you should determine
that the power cable or any other cable is damaged, unplug the mains plug and
arrange for the faulty cable to be replaced by a qualified electrician. Contact

Danger of explosion!
Operation of the PODODLOG MOON in areas subject to explosion hazard can
trigger an explosion.

INTENDED PURPOSE
The PODOLOG®MOON is used for supporting customers in a sitting or reclining
position for the duration of treatment under supervision (maximum 6-7 hours). It
can be variably adjusted from a sitting position to a flat position.
It is designed for use in practices for podiatry, foot care, cosmetics, wellness,
orthopaedics, diabetic outpatient foot clinics, and/or medical practices/medical
clinics.
The PODOLOG®MOON Professional must only be occupied by one person
with a maximum weight of 250 kg; the PODOLOG®MOON Master with one per-
son with a maximum weight of 200 kg. Under no circumstances should two
or more persons use the treatment chair simultaneously (danger of falling,
bone fracture and injury).
ANY OTHER USE IS NON-INTENDED USE!
Conversions, modifications, attachment of supplemental equipment that is
not provided by the manufacturer are not permitted. Exceptions can only be
approved by the manufacturer in writing.
Only use original spare parts for repairs.
The prescribed maintenance tasks must always be executed.
IF THE DEVICE IS NOT USED AS INTENDED, ALL LIABILITY IS EXCLUDED
AND THE WARRANTY IS RENDERED NULL AND VOID!
Intended use also includes compliance with all instructions, safety notices and
regulations specified in these operating instructions.
USAGE SITE
The PODOLOG®MOON must only be operated in dry rooms that are not subject
to explosion hazard.

Check that the delivery is complete.

TRANSPORT | UNPACKING | STORAGE
The chair should be delivered and temporarily stored in the transport box.
STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Ambient temperature –15° to +40°, humidity 30-75%, permissible air pressure:
700 - 1060 hPa.
DELIVERY
If delivered at a cold time of the year (outdoor temperature <5°C), a conditioning period
of at least 48 h should be observed.
Prior to commissioning, check whether the mains voltage agrees with the rated voltage
and frequency specified on the rating plate (on the rear of the sheet metal cladding). The
PODOLOG®MOON can be connected to any Schuko plug socket with the mains cable
provided (cable length rolled 2 m).
Stumbling hazard
Do not run over the mains cable (danger of crushing, electrical hazard) or the foot
switch cable (danger of crushing, malfunction).
Lay out the mains cable and foot switch in such a manner that they do not pose
a stumbling hazard.
Electrical hazard
The mains cable and cable for the foot switch must not get into the moving parts;
there is a danger of crushing and/or danger of electrical shock.

Accessibility of the mains plug
The accessibility of the mains plug must always be ensured for disconnecting
from the mains network in an emergency.

Always ensure that the chair is moved far enough away from the wall
that the backrest can be freely moved from the sitting position to the
maximum flat position.

WARNING!
The treatment chair may only be moved by the two armrest mountings on the
side of the back section using the transport lock fitted. When transporting, set-
ting up and fitting the levelling pads under the chair, the two red transport locks
must be fitted on the treatment chair.
Keep the transport locks for subsequent moves. You can use them to secure the
chair again should you wish to change its position at the installation site. We are
happy to advise you on transporting your treatment chair as part of a move.
Failure to follow this advice may result in damage to the treatment chair.
IF THIS REQUIREMENT IS NOT SATISFIED, THE GUARANTEE WILL LAPSE
AND WE CANNOT ACCEPT LIABILITY!
1. Before unloading the treatment chair, place protective mat (e.g. foot mat) in front of
the pallet to protect the floor.

2. Grip the two armrest mountings on the right/left of the back section as shown. Pull
the treatment chair off the pallet in the direction indicated by the arrow until the floor
plate is sitting on the protective mat.
3. Turn the treatment chair 180° so that the foot supports do not come into contact with
the pallet when lowering. To do this, open the hand wheel for rotation.

the treatment chair and have a second person pull out the pallet from underneath.

the treatment chair and have a second person place two levelling pads under the
floor plate.
