●Besuretousethemixture“gasoline:oil=15~20:1”byvolumeratio.(Ex.1000mlofgasolineshouldbemixedwithmorethan50mlofoil).
●InBreak-inprocess,use15:1mixedfueltoensurethebestlubricationforinitialrun.
●Anydamagecausedbythefuelused,inwhichtheoilratioislowerthan20:1ratio,isnotwarranted.

4.Methodofchoke(Noneedwhenyouusestarter)
※Chokingisthemeansbywhichfuelisfedtotheenginewhenyoustartitbyhandflipping.Thusitisunnecessarywhenusingstarter.Starting
withaelectricstarterisrecommendedforsafety.
●Inadvance,makeathinholeinthecowlingtoinsertthechokebar/slowneedleadjustmentbar.
●Duringchoking,besuretoturnofftheignitionswitch.
●Asshowninthefig,passthechokebar(withM3.5threadonitstip)throughtheholeinthe
cowling.ThenturnthebartoinsertintotheM3.5internalthreadatthecenterofthe
throttlelever.
●Fullyclosethethrottleandpullthechokebarandfixitwithacliporclampasshowninthe
figsothatitmaynotgobacktothepreviousposition.
●Graspthepropbyhandandturnitseveraltimesinthedirectionofnormaloperation
(CCW)untilthecarburetorgenerateshissing-likesound.Afterhearingthissoundforabout
5times,quicklyflipthepropapproximately10times.
●Removethechokebar.Thenpowerontheignitionsystemandflipthepropquicklytostart
theengine.Iftheenginedoesnʼtstart,repeatthechokingprocedure.

3.Propeller
●TheStandardpropisMejzlikD22”xP10”whichbringsapprox.6,600rpm(orFalconD22”xP10”bringsapprox.6,100rpm).
Largersizeorgreaterpitchcancauseenginebrokenduetooverload.
●Useawell-balancedone.Neverusethepropellerthathasbeenscratchedordamagedevenifslightly.
●Asthepropelleriscompressedslightly,tightenthepropellernuteveryhourofoperation.
Note:
●Asitusesoil-mixedfuel,theplanemaysometimesgetdirtyfromtheexhaust.
●Useareliableandwell-balancedprop.Otherwiseitmaycauseanabnormalvibrationandcouldresultinaseriousaccident.
●Duringoperation,allenginescrewscanloosenduetometalheatexpansion.Checkandtightenoccasionally.
●Whentheexhaustvalvegetsdullbycarbonorsludgeespeciallyincoldatmosphere,removetherockercoverandapplysomeanti-rust
spraytotheexhaustvalvetohelpthevalvetomovesmoothly.

5.Break-inMOSTIMPORTANT!!
●Beforestartingtheengine,injectasuitableamount(approx.20〜30cc)ofengineoilinto
thelubricationnippleonthecrankcaseusingasyringeorpumpwhileturningthepropeller
byhand.Afterthat,plugthisnipple.Asexcessisdischargedfromthebreathernipple,
attachatubetothebreathernipple.
●Prop-recommendation:22x10.
●Use15:1fuel:oilratioforbreak-in.
●NevermakethefuelmixtureleanduringBreak-in.Itcouldcauseseizureevenduring
idlingorlowspeedrunning.
●Beforestartingtheengine,openthemainneedleApprox.3turnsopen(CCW)fromfully
closed.
●Starttheengine(usingastarterisrecommendedforsafety).
●Soonafterstarting,Openthethrottlegraduallyuptooverhalfopen.InthemeantimeturnthemainneedleCCW.Continuetoturnthe
mainneedleCCWuntiltheRPMdeclines,keepingthethrottleopenedoverhalf.
●IfopeningmainneedledoesnʼtdropRPM,thenopentheslowneedletoo.
●Runinthisveryrichconditionfor1literoffuel.
●Now“initial”break-inisdone.
6.Adjustmentofcarburetorafterinitialbreak-in.
◇Needlereferenceposition(Setafterinitialbreak-in)
●Starttheengineafteradjustingtheneedletothefollowingreferencevalue.
●Mainneedle:Approx.2turnsCCWfromfullyclosed
●Slowneedle:Approx.4~5turnsCCWfromfullyclosed(Thenthrottleshouldbefullyclosed)
●Actually,thebestpositionoftheneedlesvarydependingontheprop,temperature,humidityand
soon.Pleaseadjustasnecessaryafterobservingtheengineperformanceduringflight.
◇Peakadjustment
●Afterstartingtheengine,warmupforapprox.30secondsatlowspeed.
●Achievethepeakatfullthrottle.
→TurnthemainneedleCWgraduallytothepositionwheretheRPMisgreatest(thepeak).ContinuingtoturntheneedleCWpastthe
peakcouldleadtoseizuresoturnitslowlyandcarefully.IftheRPMsuddenlydecreasesafterpassingthepeak,instantlyturnthemain
needleCCWtoagainincreasetheRPM.Otherwiseitcoulddamagetheengineseriously.
●OnceachievingpeakRPM,returnthethrottletolowspeed.Makeanoteofthepositionofmainneedleatthepeakatthattime.
(HowmanyturnsyoudidCWbasedonthereferencevalue.)
◇SlowneedleAdjustment
●AfterachievingpeakRPM,nextisslowneedleadjustment.OpenthethrottlefromlowRPMtofullthrottlequickly.
●IftheenginehesitatesforamomentorstallsbeforetheenginereachesmaxRPM,Itʼsbecausethemixtureistoolean.Thenturntheslow
needleCCWslightly.
●IftheengineisslowtoreachpeakRPM(fullthrottleset),itʼsbecausethemixtureistoorich.ThenturntheslowneedleCWslightly.
●AdjusttheslowneedleasaboveuntiltheRPMfollowsthethrottlemovementsmoothly.Theimportantpointistoadjusttheslowneedle
AFTERthemainneedlehasbeenadjustedtoitspeak.
●Nowbreak-inatgroundlevelisdone.Adjusttappetsbythemethoddescribedlater.
◇Pre-flight/Flightadjustment
●Whentheslowneedleadjustmentisdone,checktheresponsebyrevvingupfromlowspeedtofullthrottlequicklyseveraltimes.
●OpenthethrottlefullyandturnthemainneedleCCWapprox.60〜90degreesfromthepeakposition.Thisistomakethefuelmixture
richerintheairwheretheRPMgethigherthanontheground.
●Afteralladjustmentsaremade,flyyouraircraftandfinetunetheengineaccordingtothesituation.Basicallytuningshouldbedonewith
themainneedle.Readjustmentoftheslowneedleisrarelyneededifthefirstadjustmentoftheslowneedlehasbeendonesuccessfully.

7.Tappetadjustment
Thevalveclearanceshouldbecheckedandadjustedafterbreak-inandeverytimeaftertwohourswhiletheengineiscold.Beforeadjusting
tappetgaps,tightenupthescrewsaroundcylindersetc.
2.Loosenthelocknutandadjust
thegapbyhexagonalwrench
untilyougetthecorrectgapfor
bothofintake&exhaust.
3.Oncethegapisset,tightenthe
locknutandattachtheplugand
covers.Thendothesame
adjustmentfortheothercylinder.
4.Turnthepropbyhandtocheckifthe
compressionisenough.Ifthegapisless
than0,thevalveisalwaysopened
slightlyandwilllosecompression.Then
adjustagain.
1.Removethesparkplugandrocker
armcoversofacylinder.Then
turnthepropCCWbyhandto
placethepistonatTDCof
compressionstroke.
