3 | Allgemeines
3.1 | Gebrauchsanleitung lesen und aufbewahren
Diese Montageanleitung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf das genannte saito
Topcase 28 Liter (kurz Topcase). Sie enthält wichtige Hinweise zu Sicherheit und
Handhabung. Die Anleitung, insbesondere die Sicherheitshinweise, sorgfältig
durchlesen, bevor das Topcase am Fahrzeug verwendet wird. Die Nichtbeach-
tung dieser Gebrauchsanleitung kann zu Schäden am Fahrzeug, beeinträchtigter
Fahrsicherheit und zu Unfällen führen.
Die Gebrauchsanleitung basiert auf den in der Europäischen Union gültigen
Normen und Regeln und spiegelt den aktuellen Stand der Technik wider. Im
Ausland sind ggf. auch landesspezische Richtlinien und Gesetze zu beachten.
Die Gebrauchsanleitung unbedingt für die weitere Nutzung aufbewahren. Wenn
das Topcase an Dritte weitergegeben wird, unbedingt diese Gebrauchsanleitung
mitgeben.

4 | Sicherheit
4.1 | Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Topcase ist zur Festmontage auf Metallrohr-Gepäckträgern am Motorrad
oder Scooter gedacht und kann Gepäck bis zu einem Gewicht von max. 3 kg
aufnehmen.
Da es sich beim diesem Topcase um ein universell einsetzbares Produkt
ohne spezische Fahrzeugzuordnung handelt, ist es wichtig, sich vor dem
ersten Gebrauch davon zu überzeugen, dass sich das Topcase ohne Probleme
sachgerecht am Fahrzeug verwenden lässt. Dabei sind unbedingt die Angaben
der Fahrzeug-Bedienungsanleitung und die Vorgaben des Fahrzeugherstellers
zu beachten. Dies ist notwendig, da durch die nicht sach- und typgerechte
Verwendung dieses Produkts die Fahrsicherheit und/oder die Beschaffenheit des
Fahrzeuges beeinträchtigt werden können.
4.2 | Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG!
Unfallgefahr!
• Das Topcase darf nur auf einer geeigneten
Befestigungsgrundlage montiert werden, die den auftretenden
Kräften standhält. Dazu sollte ein fest und sicher am
Fahrzeug verschraubter Gepäckträger/ Topcaseträger aus
Stahlrohr verwendet werden, der mindestens 5 kg Tragkraft
besitzt. Bei Gepäckträgern aus anderem Material, z.B.
Aluminium, muss geprüft werden, ob die Montagekrallen der
Topcase-Grundplatte an diesem sinnvoll angebracht werden
können. Gerade bei Trägern aus Aluguss ist hier Vorsicht
geboten, da dieses Material bei punktueller Druckbelastung
bruchgefährdet ist.
• Beleuchtungseinrichtung dürfen unter keinen Umständen
durch das saito Topcase verdeckt werden.
• Das Topcase kann mit Transportgut bis max. 3 kg beladen
werden. Dabei darf die vom Fahrzeughersteller angegebene
maximale Fahrzeugbelastbarkeit niemals überschritten
werden, sie setzt sich aus dem Gewicht von Fahrer, Beifahrer,
Zubehör und Gepäck zusammen.
• Es dürfen keine brennbaren oder explosiven Stoffe, wie
beispielsweise Benzin- oder Gasaschen, im Topcase
transportiert werden.

• Vor der Fahrt mit dem beladenen Fahrzeug ist der Reifendruck
gemäß Fahrzeugherstellerangaben zu überprüfen.
• Das beladene Fahrzeug kann ggf. veränderte
Fahreigenschaften aufweisen, da die Schwerpunktlage sich
verändert hat und die Angriffsäche für Seitenwind größer
geworden ist. Eine Probefahrt auf überschaubarem Gelände
und in gemäßigten Tempo gibt die Gelegenheit, sich an die
veränderten Fahreigenschaften des Zweirades zu gewöhnen.
Wir empfehlen, auch danach eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von
120 km/h nicht zu überschreiten und bei windiger oder nasser
Witterung besonders vorsichtig zu fahren.
• Vor Fahrtantritt und spätestens alle 200 km muss das
beladene Topcase auf festen Sitz und korrekt verschlossenen
Deckel überprüft werden.
• Sind während der Fahrt Klappergeräusche aus dem Topcase
zu vernehmen, ist das Fahrzeug an einem sicheren Ort
anzuhalten und zu kontrollieren, ob das Topcase, dessen
Deckel, Träger oder Inhalt ggf. lose sein könnte. Vor der
Weiterfahrt für Abhilfe sorgen.
WARNUNG!
Gefahren für Kinder und Personen mit verringerten physi-
schen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten (beispielswei-
se teilweise Behinderte, ältere Personen mit Einschränkung
ihrer physischen und mentalen Fähigkeiten) oder Mangel an
Erfahrung und Wissen im Umgang mit Motorrädern (beispiels-
weise ältere Kinder)!
• Zum Lieferumfang gehörende Verpackungsfolie und Kleinteile
von Kindern fernhalten, da Erstickungsgefahr besteht.
HINWEIS!
Beschädigungsgefahr!
• Fahrzeugteile und deren empndliche Oberächen, die mit
dem Topcase in Berührung kommen können, sollten gegen
Kratzer aufgrund Reibung, Vibration usw. geschützt werden.

Dieses gelingt z.B. mit transparenten, selbstklebenden
Schutzfolien oder Klebeband.
• Das Topcase darf nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe der
Auspufföffnung oder sonstigen heißen Fahrzeugteilen
angebracht werden.
• Feuchtigkeitsempndliches Gut sollte vor dem Transport im
Topcase in wasserdichten Beuteln verpackt werden.
• Damit das Transportgut im Topcase während der Fahrt
nicht hin und her geworfen werden kann, muss es ggf.
entsprechend ausgepolstert werden.
5 | Montage
Das Fahrzeug an einem gut be-
leuchteten, sauberen Arbeitsplatz
sicher aufbocken. Dazu sollte man
möglichst einen Motorradheber oder
den Hauptständer verwenden. Ist ein
solcher nicht vorhanden, sollte der
Seitenständer mit einem Zurrgurt
gegen unbeabsichtigtes Einklappen
abgesichert werden.
Den separat zu erwerbenden Gepäck-
träger auf einwandfreien, belastbaren
Zustand und eine einwandfreie,
feste Verschraubung am Fahrzeug
kontrollieren.
Die Adapterplatte aus dem Topcase
nehmen und symmetrisch, wie auf
dem Bild gezeigt, auf den Gepäckträ-
ger legen. Die Platte sollte eben und
großächig auf diesem auiegen.
Nun je eine der beiden Klemmschie-
nen von unten mit der glatten Seite
gegen den Gepäckträger halten und
durch Verschieben einen Befesti-
gungspunkt nden, der es ermöglicht,
die Schrauben durch die Adapterplatte
in die Klemmschienen durchzuste-
cken, wobei die Klemmschiene die
Adapterplatte am Gepäckträger sicher
xiert. Ist für jede Klemmschiene ein

guter Befestigungspunkt gefunden, können die Schrauben durchgesteckt und mit
Unterlegscheiben und Muttern unter der Klemmschiene festgezogen werden. Die
Schrauben müssen mit Gefühl angezogen werden, ohne die Adapterplatte dabei
zu deformieren. Abschließend ist der feste, verrutschsichere Sitz der Adapterplat-
te auf dem Gepäckträger zu überprüfen.
Das Topcase wird nun hinten mit der hervorstehenden Zunge in den Bügel der
Adapterplatte eingeschoben und von innen her mit der Sterngriffschraube an
dieser festgeschraubt. Beim Schließen und niederdrücken des Deckels rastet
das Schloss automatisch ein, der Schlüssel kann abgezogen werden. Um den
Deckel wieder zu öffnen, wird der Schlüssel ins Schloss gesteckt und nach rechts
gedreht.
Darauf achten, dass ein Schlüssel an einem sicheren Ort aufbewahrt
wird, da der Deckel automatisch schließt und nur mit einem Schlüssel
geöffnet werden kann.
6 | Lagerung und Pege
Das Topcase sollte in einem geschlossenen Raum vor Witterungseinüssen und
extremen Temperaturen geschützt gelagert werden. Die Reinigung erfolgt mit
warmer Seifenlauge und einem weichen Tuch. Keinesfalls Benzin oder scharfe
Reinigungs- bzw. Lösungsmittel verwenden. Auch Lackreiniger oder Polierwachs
sollten vom Topcase ferngehalten werden, da sie auf Kunststoff gern milchige
Rückstände hinterlassen. Zur Pege sollten nur ausdrücklich als solche gekenn-
zeichnete Kunststoffpegemittel eingesetzt werden.
7 | Gewährleistung
Für das vorliegende Produkt gilt die gesetzliche Gewährleistung von zwei Jahren.
Der Gewährleistungszeitraum beginnt ab dem Kaufdatum. Gebrauchsspuren,
Zweckentfremdung, nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch und Schäden, die aus
einem Unfall, einer Manipulation oder einem Reparaturversuch durch unauto-
risierte Kundendienste oder Personen resultieren oder technisch abgeänderte
Produkte sind von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen.
8 | Entsorgung
Verpackungsmaterial sowie das Produkt selbst, sind gemäß den
regionalen behördlichen Bestimmungen zu entsorgen.

3 | General information
3.1 | Reading and keeping the instructions for use
These installation instructions apply exclusively to the aforementioned saito
28-litre top box (for short: top box). They contain important information on safety
and handling. Read the instructions carefully, especially the safety instructions,
before you use the use the top box on the vehicle. Failure to adhere to these
instructions for use can lead to damage to the vehicle, compromised riding safety
and accidents.
The instructions for use are based on the standards and regulations applicable in
the European Union and reect current state-of-the-art technology. If abroad, you
should also observe any country-specic guidelines and laws. It is imperative that
you keep these instructions for use safe for later use. If you pass the top box on
to a third party, you must also hand over these instructions for use.
3.2 | Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in these instructions for use or
on the packaging.

4 | Safety
4.1 | Intended use
The top box is designed for xed installation on metal tube luggage racks on
motorcycles or scooters and can carry luggage with a maximum weight of 3kg.
Since this top box is a product for universal use, i.e. is not designed for a specic
vehicle, it is important to make sure that the top box can be used properly on
the vehicle without problems before using it for the rst time. In the process
it is imperative that you adhere to the specications in the vehicle operating
instructions and the vehicle manufacturer's specications. This is essential, as
improper use of this product or its unsuitability for a vehicle could impair the
safety of the vehicle and/or damage it.
4.2 | Safety instructions
WARNING!
Risk of accident!
• The top box must only be installed on a suitable fastening
base which can withstand all the forces to which it is
exposed. For this purpose, a luggage rack/top box rack
made of steel tubing, fastened permanently and securely to
the vehicle, with a minimum load capacity of 5kg should be
used. If using luggage racks made of other materials, e.g.
aluminium, you must check whether the installation clamps
of the top box base plate can be attached to it properly.
Particular care must be taken with racks made of cast
aluminium as this material is susceptible to breakage in case
of isolated pressure loads.
• Lighting equipment must not under any circumstances be
covered by the saito top box.
• The top box can carry a maximum load of 3kg. The maximum
load-bearing capacity of the vehicle as specied by the
vehicle manufacturer must also never be exceeded. It
comprises the weight of the rider, passenger, accessories and
luggage.
• Combustible or explosive materials, such as fuel or gas
canisters for example, must not be transported in the top box.

• Before setting off with the loaded vehicle, you must check
the tyre pressure in accordance with the specications of
the vehicle manufacturer.
• The loaded vehicle may display altered road holding as the
position of the centre of gravity changes and the side wind
resistance is larger. A test ride on easy terrain at a gentle
speed is a good way to accustom yourself to the altered road
holding of your bike. Afterwards, we recommend that you do
not exceed a top speed of 120km/h and that you ride with
particular care in windy or wet conditions.
• Before setting off, and at the latest every 200km, the loaded
top box must be checked to make sure that it is rmly in place
and that the lid is correctly sealed.
• If you notice rattling noises from the top box when on the
road, you must stop the vehicle in a safe place and check
whether the top box, its lid, racks or contents are loose. Take
corrective action before continuing the journey.
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons,
elderly persons with limited physical and mental abilities) or
lack of experience and knowledge of handling motorcycles
(e.g. older children)!
• The packaging lm and small parts must be kept away from
children, as there is a risk of suffocation.
IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage!
• Vehicle parts and any sensitive surfaces which may come into
contact with the top box should be protected from scratches
caused by friction or vibration etc. This can be achieved, for
example by using transparent, self-adhesive protective lms
or adhesive tape.
• The top box must not be attached in the direct vicinity of the
exhaust opening or any other hot parts of the vehicle.

• Items which are sensitive to moisture should be packed in
waterproof bags before transporting them in the top box.
• In order to prevent the transported items from being thrown
back and forth in the top box when on the road, it may need to
be padded out.
5 | Installation
Jack up the vehicle securely in a
well-lit, clean workstation. To do so,
you should use a paddock stand or
the centre stand wherever possible.
If neither is available, the side stand
should be secured with a lashing strap
to prevent it from folding away.
Check the luggage rack (sold
separately) to make sure that it is
in perfect, loadable condition and is
screwed awlessly and rmly to the
vehicle.
Remove the adaptor plate from the
top box and place it on the luggage
rack symmetrically, as shown in the
illustration. The plate should rest
evenly and over a large area on it.
Now hold one of the two clamping
rails with the smooth side against the
luggage rack from below and slide it to
nd the fastening point which enables
you to push the screws through the
adaptor plate and into the clamping
rails, so that the clamping rail secures
the adaptor plate rmly to the luggage
rack. Once a good fastening point has
been found for each clamping rail, the
screws can be pushed through and
fastened under the clamping rail with
washers and nuts. The screws must
be tightened carefully so that the adaptor plate is not deformed in the process.
Finally, check whether the adaptor plate is fastened rmly to the luggage rack in
such a way that it does not slip.
Then push the top box into the shackle on the adaptor plate from the rear using
the projecting lug, and screw it in place on the adaptor plate with the star knob

screw. When the lid is closed and pushed down, the lock snaps into place
automatically and the key can be removed. In order to open the lid again,
insert the key in the lock and turn it to the right.
Make sure that a key is kept in a safe place because the lid locks
automatically and can only be opened with a key.
6 | Storage and care
The top box should be stored in a closed room so that it is protected from
weathering and extreme temperatures. Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth
for cleaning. Do not under any circumstances use petroleum, harsh cleaning
agents or solvents. Also keep paint restorer and polishing wax away from the top
box as they tend to leave milky residue behind on plastic. Only products which are
explicitly labelled as plastic care products should be used for care purposes.
7 | Warranty
This product comes with the statutory two-year warranty. The warranty period
begins on the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover normal wear and
tear, use for anything other than the intended purpose, damage caused by an
accident or by modications or attempted repairs by unauthorised persons, or
products which have been modied technically.
8 | Disposal
Dispose of packaging material and the product itself in accordance
with applicable local regulations.
