1 Safety instructions and measures
Intended use
The TROVIS6616-1 and TROVIS6616-2 Web Terminals are optional components of the
TROVIS6600 Automation System and are used in conjunction with a TROVIS6610 CPU
Module or a TROVIS6611-2 Control and Automation Unit for panel mounting. The user can
view operating data on site on the touch screen, change set points and parameters as well as
access time schedules of a building automation system.
The web terminals are designed to operate under exactly dened conditions (e.g. supply
voltage, ambient conditions). Therefore, operators must ensure that the web terminals are
only used in applications where the operating conditions correspond to the technical data. In
case operators intend to use a web terminal in applications or conditions other than those
specied, contact SAMSON.
SAMSON does not assume any liability for damage resulting from the failure to use the
device for its intended purpose or for damage caused by external forces or any other
external factors.
ÎRefer to the technical data for limits and elds of application as well as possible uses. See
the 'Design and principle of operation' section.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse
The web terminals are not suitable for the following applications:
−Use outside the limits dened during sizing and by the technical data
−Use in dusty environments
−Use in areas exposed to intense heat sources
Furthermore, the following activities do not comply with the intended use:
−Use of non-original spare parts
−Performing service and repair work not described
Qualicationsofoperatingpersonnel
The web terminals must be mounted, started up, serviced and repaired by fully trained and
qualied personnel only; the accepted industry codes and practices are to be observed.
According to these mounting and operating instructions, trained personnel refers to individu-
als who are able to judge the work they are assigned to and recognize possible hazards due
to their specialized training, their knowledge and experience as well as their knowledge of
the applicable standards.

Personal protective equipment
No personal protective equipment is required.
Revisionsandothermodications
Revisions, conversions or other modications of the products are not authorized by
SAMSON. They are performed at the user's own risk and may lead to safety hazards, for
example. Furthermore, the products may no longer meet the requirements for their intended
use. Use of the devices is no longer permitted in this case.
Safety features
Registration to the web terminal is password-protected to protect it from unauthorized access.
The password that is valid on rst start-up can be found in the Annex of these mounting and
operating instructions. To avoid its unauthorized use, remove the page or make the password
unreadable.
Warning against residual hazards
The web terminals allow operating staff to directly inuence the TROVIS6610 CPU Module
or TROVIS6611-2 Control and Automation Unit and, as a result, the controlled system com-
ponents (e.g. control valves and pumps). To avoid personal injury or property damage, plant
operators and operating personnel must prevent hazards that could be caused in the plant
components by the process medium, the operating pressure, the signal pressure or by mov-
ing parts by taking appropriate precautions. Plant operators and operating personnel must
observe all hazard statements, warning and caution notes in the referenced documents.
Responsibilities of the operator
Operators are responsible for proper use and compliance with the safety regulations.
Operators are obliged to provide these mounting and operating instructions to the operating
personnel and to instruct them in proper operation. Furthermore, operators must ensure that
operating personnel or third parties are not exposed to any danger.
Responsibilities of operating personnel
Operating personnel must read and understand these mounting and operating instructions as
well as the specied hazard statements, warning and caution notes. Furthermore, operating
personnel must be familiar with the applicable health, safety and accident prevention regula-
tions and comply with them.

Referenced standards, directives and regulations
Devices with a CE marking fulll the requirements of the Directives 2014/30/EU, 2011/65/
EU and 2001/95/EC.
The web terminal is designed for use in low voltage installations.

Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock.
The TROVIS6616-1 and TROVIS6616-2 Web Terminals are designed for use in low
voltage installations. Electrical connection of the device involves potential hazards.
ÎObserve the relevant electrotechnical regulations of the country of use as well as
the regulations of the local power suppliers.
ÎOnly allow trained and experienced personnel to perform the work.
ÎBefore electrical connection, disconnect the supply voltage and protect it against
unintentional reconnection.
ÎOnly use power interruption devices that can be protected against unintentional
reconnection of the power supply.
ÎDo not open the web terminal when the supply voltage is connected.
ÎDo not remove any housing parts.

1.2 Notes on possible property damage
NOTICE

Damage due to water entering the device.
The front of the web terminal is protected against water jets (IP54).
ÎAvoid powerful jets of water.
Risk of damage to the web terminal due to moisture.
ÎAllow the devices to slowly adapt to temperature differences such as when trans-
porting the devices in cold weather conditions or when the devices are exposed to
extreme temperature uctuations.
Image persistence may damage the touch screen.
ÎDo not allow static images to remain on the screen for long periods of time.
Manipulation of settings due to unauthorized access.
The web terminals support various communications protocol (e.g. a web server). This al-
lows remote access. To protect them from unauthorized access, the onsite and remote
operation of the web terminal is password-protected:
ÎDo not pass login data on to unauthorized persons. Keep them in a safe place inac-
cessible to unauthorized persons.
Unauthorized repair work will damage the web terminal.
ÎDo not attempt to repair the web terminal yourself.
ÎReturn defective devices to SAMSON for repair.

The TROVIS6616-1 and TROVIS6616-2
Web Terminals are optional components of
the TROVIS6600 Automation System and
are used in conjunction with a TROVIS6610
CPU Module or a TROVIS6611-2 Control
and Automation Unit for panel mounting.
The user can view operating data on site on
the touch screen, change set points and pa-
rameters as well as access time schedules of
a building automation system.
The web terminals run as a web client under
the Android operating system. The installed
Automation Browser is used to access the
graphic visualization saved in the web serv-
er of the TROVIS6610 CPU Module and in
the TROVIS6611-2 Control and Automation
Unit.
The TROVIS6616-1 or TROVIS6616-2
Web Terminal is used to access the
visualization of several TROVIS6610 or
TROVIS6611-2 CPU Modules. All plant
schemes are saved in the TROVIS6610 or
TROVIS6611-2 CPU Module. The web
terminal can be used to view, for example
colored plant schemes with dynamically
refreshed values. Data, such as set points,
time programs etc., can be conveniently
changed on the touch screen.
The alarm list shows recorded events in
chronological order with a comment.
Online or historical data can be viewed on
the TROVIS6616-1 or TROVIS6616-2 Web
Terminal and saved to CSV les for further
processing on an external device, which can
be plugged into the USB port of the web
terminal.
Alternatively, the text-based user interface of
TROVIS MOBILE can be used to view the da-
ta.
3.1 Additional devices
The TROVIS6616-1 and TROVIS6616-2
Web Terminals can only be used together
with a TROVIS6610 CPU Module or
TROVIS6611-2 Control and Automation
Unit.
A project must be saved in the TROVIS6610
CPU Module congured using the
TROVIS6690 Graphical Project Manage-
ment Tool.
This project requires a web application cre-
ated using the TROVIS6693 Web Terminal
Editor or a TROVISMOBILE web application
created using the TROVIS6690 Graphical
Project Management Tool.
A project must be saved in the
TROVIS6611-2 Control and Automation
Unit congured using the TROVIS6690
Graphical Project Management Tool. A Pro-
cess View application must be included in
the project.

The work described in this section is only to
be performed by personnel appropriately
qualied to carry out such tasks.
4.1 Accepting the delivered
goods
After receiving the shipment, proceed as fol-
lows:
1. Compare the shipment received with the
delivery note.
2. Check the shipment for transportation
damage. Report any damage to SAM-
SON and the forwarding agent (refer to
delivery note).
4.2 Removing the packaging
from the web terminal
Risk of device damage due to foreign parti-
cles entering it.
ÎDo not remove the packaging and pro-
tective lms until immediately before
mounting.
1. Remove the packaging from the device.
2. Check scope of delivery (see Fig.4-1).
3. Dispose of the packaging in accordance
with the valid regulations.

We recommend regularly checking the web
terminal and the prevailing storage condi-
tions during long storage periods.
Storage instructions
ÎProtect the device against external inu-
ences (e.g. impact).
ÎProtect the device against moisture and
dirt.
ÎMake sure that the ambient air is free of
acids or other corrosive media.
ÎObserve the permissible storage tem-
perature from 0 to 70°C.
ÎDo not place any objects on the device.

Installation
5 Installation
The work described in this section is only to
be performed by personnel appropriately
qualied to carry out such tasks.
5.1 Installation conditions
Work position
The work position for the web terminal is the
front view onto the display of the web termi-
nal seen from the position of operating per-
sonnel.
Operators must ensure that, after installation
of the web terminal, the operating personnel
can perform all necessary work safely and
easily access the web terminal from the work
position.
5.2 Preparation for installation
Before mounting, make sure the following
conditions are met:
− The web terminal is not damaged.
Proceed as follows:
ÎLay out the necessary material and tools
to have them ready during mounting.
5.3 Mounting the web terminal
Risk of damaging the touch screen.
ÎDo not be place the web terminal front
side down on hard surfaces.

The installation requires a panel cut-out. The
wall thickness of the panel must not exceed
3mm.
5.3.1 TROVIS6616-1
Panel mounting
1. Make the panel cut-out (see Fig.5-1).
2. Drill four holes (see Fig.5-1).
3. Push the web terminal into the panel cut-
out from the front.
4. Fasten the web terminal to the panel
from the back with the four supplied
screws.
VESA mount
Optionally, the VESA mount at the back of
the TROVIS6616-1 Web Terminal can be
used for mounting. The fastening screws
must not be screwed into the thread further
than 9mm.
5.3.2 TROVIS6616-2
Panel mounting
1. Make the panel cut-out (see Fig.5-2).
2. Push the web terminal into the panel cut-
out from the front.
3. Clamp the web terminal from the back
against the control panel using the sup-
plied clips.
