INSTALLATION & SERVICING
THE INSTALLATION SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY
A SUITABLY QUALIFIED PERSON, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT EDITION OF
THE I.E.E. WIRING REGULATIONS.
WARNING : All Powersaver products must be
earthed, using the earth terminals at the rear of
the switch. The following cabling is recommend
L & N - 1.5mm² - 4.0mm² xed
- 1.5mm² - 2.5mm² exible (retro t
applications (only in conjunction with 143609
surface box)
L Out & N Out - 1.5mm² - 2.5mm² xed or
exible
Provision must be made in the xed wiring for a
means of disconnection from the supply having a
contact separation of at least 3mm on all poles.
This can be provided by the consumer unit.
The Powersaver Product Range are independently
mounted time switches, of electronic construction,
which can be surface or ush mounted. For ush
tting, a metal box of at least 32mm internal depth
should be tted with the earth terminal at the
bottom.
For surface mounting, use a patress box with a
minimum internal depth of 32mm.
Do not remove the Powersaver from its packaging
until the patress/wall box is tted and cleared of
dust & debris. The Powersaver Range is suitable
for use in a normal pollution situation.
The cable clamp at the rear of the unit is for
outgoing cables to the appliance only.
CONNECTION WARNING:
Isolate mains before installing. Supply
terminals are for xed wiring only. Load terminals
are for xed or exible wiring. Remove 8mm of
insulation from each wire and twist any multiple
connection together.
All earth conductors must be sleeved
(green/yellow) and connected to earth terminal
using earth terminals provided on rear of switch.
Fit the Powersaver to the patress box using screws
provided.
When cutting the aperture for the output exible
cord, ensure no sharp edges remain.
PLEASE NOTE : This product is not
suitable for mounting on unearthed metal or met-
alised surfaces.

This product is guaranteed by your supplier for 2 years from the Date of Manufacture. If it should
become defective, please contact your installer or supplier for a replacement unit.

USER INSTRUCTIONS - PROGRAMMING
BOOST
The Powersaver Boost offers 3 options for the on period
duration : ½ hour, 1 hour or 2 hours.
To activate the Boost function, press Boost button once
for ½ hour, twice for 1 hour or 3 times for 2 hours. On
the fourth press of the button, the operation will cancel.
INDICATOR LIGHTS
The Powersaver Boost is tted with three indicator lights
to display which setting is selected. While the Boost is
active, the indicator light will change to identify the
maximum remaining boost time e.g. 2 HOURS selected.
BOOST MAXI
The Powersaver Boost Maxi functions exactly as the
‘BOOST’ above offering 3 options for the on period
duration : 1 hour, 3 hours or 5 hours.

(See ap label for identication if in doubt)
After the unit has been installed and powered up, a full
display will be indicated. As shown below, this initial
display will ash continuously until the Time Setting Mode
has been entered.
TIME SETTING MODE: (Example Wednesday 6:15pm)
1. Press the Set button once and the display shown below
will be indicated.
During time and program mode, parts of the display that
ash indicate what can be altered.
2. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to select the correct
time. Remember to ensure that the am/pm indicator is
correct.
3. Use the Day button to select the correct day of the
week (Weekly & 24/7 programmers only).
4. Once the correct time has been entered, the display will
be as shown below.
5. Press the Set button once, to conrm.
PROGRAM SETTING MODE:
As soon as the correct time has been selected and the
Set button pressed, the unit automatically proposes that
the program switching time be set and the display shown
below will be indicated.
It is best to write down all program times, prior to
programming.
PROGRAM EXAMPLES:
TO SET PROGRAM SWITCHING TIMES:
1. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the rst on
time, e.g. Prog 1 ON : 7:40am (see display below).
2. Press the Set button once to conrm and set Prog 1
(see display below).
3. Use the Hour and Minute buttons to set the rst off
time, Prog 1 OFF: 8:30am (see display below).
4. Press the Set button once to conrm and set next time.
5. To input programs 2 and 3, repeat steps 1 – 4.
6. When program 3 off time has been entered :-
a) DAILY - Go to step 9
b) WEEKLY - unit then proposes the weekend switching
times (see display below).
c) 24/7 unit then proposes Tuesday switching times (see
display below).
7. To input the next day or day group program times,
repeat steps 1 – 5.
8. 24/7 only - Additional speed features on 24/7 unit
when setting programs:-
a) Press Boost to copy current day programs into the next
day (see display below).
b) Press Day to skip to next day (see display below).
9. When the Set (or Day or Boost on 24/7 unit) has been
pressed for the last time, the display will return to the
normal running mode, as shown below.
The indicator light will glow green when a program is
active.
NOTES ON PROGRAMMING:
a) All programs must be in consecutive order, i.e. Program
1 must be before Program 2, and Program 2 before
Program 3. If in the wrong order, error messages will be
displayed.
b) If only 2 or less programs are required, for the
remaining programs enter the same on and off times,
e.g. Prog 3 on 8:00pm, off 8:00pm. This ensures the
unwanted program is cancelled.
c) Programming past midnight is NOT allowed. An error
message will displayed. To overcome this the program
needs to be split as per example:
Desired Program Period - on 10:00pm off 07:00am
make Prog 1 - on 12:00am off 07:00am
make Prog 2 - on 07:00am off 07:00am
make Prog 3 - on 10:00pm off 12:00am
Progs make up desired program period leaving prog 2
available for a program during the day.
d) If you try to input the off time before the on time, an
error message will be displayed. Press Set to continue.
e) If a button is not pressed within 30 seconds, the unit
will revert to the normal running mode. To return to the
programming, continue to press the Set button until the
program step you require is shown.
REVIEW MODE/PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS MODE:
To review/change program settings:
1. Press set button twice to access rst program setting.
2. Continue to press set button to scroll through all
program settings.
3. 24/7 only you may also press day button to fast
forward to specic day.
4. Use the hour & minute buttons at any time to change a
program setting.
5. Either continue to press the set buttons (24/7 only
- you may also press day button) until the normal running
mode displayed or leave unit for 30 seconds and it will do
so automatically.
NORMAL RUNNING MODE:
In the normal running mode, the unit displays the correct
time and day and active programs, e.g. as shown below.
There are 3 more features available in this mode:-
A. Boost mode.
B. Off (Holiday) mode.
C. Program Override mode.
A. BOOST MODE:
There are 3 boost options:-
½ hour
1 hour
2 hours
To activate the boost function, press the Boost button
once for ½ hour, twice for 1 hour and three times for 2
hours. On the fourth press of the button, this facility will
be cancelled.
As the Boost button is pressed, the display will indicate
which option you have selected. The indicator light will
glow green.
The display will show remaining boost time.
If, while a boost period is active, you wish to extend the
action, press the Boost button until you reach the desired
length, i.e. ½ hour, 1 hour, 2 hours.
B. OFF (HOLIDAY) MODE
The holiday function allows you to suspend programmes
whilst still allowing the Boost function to be used.
To activate, simply press the Off button once and “OFF”
will be displayed. To cancel this function, press the Off
button again. See display below.
NOTE : This is NOT an override function for programs.
NOTE : BOOST mode still active
C. PROGRAM OVERRIDE MODE
If, during a program On time, you wish to cancel the
program, simply press the Boost button once.
NOTE : The program settings will not be affected and the
next time this program is due, it will function as normal.
Adjoining programs will also be cancelled.
