Get started _

Welcome! _Get Your Phone Ready _
Sprint is committed to developing technologies that
give you the ability to get what you want when you
want it, faster than ever before. This booklet introduces
you to the basics of getting started with Sprint and
your new SANYO Incognito.™

Insert the Battery
1. Slide the battery release latch to unlock it, and
then slide the battery cover down to remove it.
2. Insert the battery into the battery compartment,
making sure the connectors align, and gently
press it down.
3. Position the battery cover and slide it upward
until it snaps into place, and then lock the battery
release latch.
Charge the Battery
1. Plug the phone charger into an electrical outlet.
2. Plug the other end of the charger into the micro-USB
connector located on the upper right side of
your phone.
Turn the Phone On
• Open the phone and press .

Activate Your Phone
• IfyoupurchasedyourphoneataSprintStore,itis
probably activated and ready to use.
• Ifyoureceivedyourphoneinthemail,anditisanew
Sprint account or a new phone number, your phone is
designed to activate automatically when you first turn
it on. To confirm your activation, make a phone call.
• Ifyoureceivedyourphoneinthemailanditisgoingto
be activated on an existing number (you’re swapping
phones), go to sprint.com/activate and follow the
instructions.
When you have finished, make a phone call to
confirm your activation. If your phone is still not
activated or you do not have access to the
Internet, contact Sprint Customer Service at
1-888-211-4727 for assistance.
Switch to Spanish Menus (optional)
1. Highlight and press > Settings >
Others > Language.
2. Highlight Español and press .

Using the External Keypad
1. Enter a phone number. (If you make a mistake while
dialing, touch to erase the numbers.)
2. Touch .
3. When you’re finished, touch .
Using the Internal Keypad
1. Enter a phone number using the QWERTY keypad. (If
you make a mistake while dialing, press to erase.)
2. Press .
3. When you’re finished, press .

Introducing Sprint One Click
Sprint One Click brings all your favorite features to your
fingertips on your SANYO Incognito.
This easy-to-use design lets you access features
such as MESSAGING , SPRINT NAVIGATION ,
GOOGLE , and the INTERNET all without having to
leave the main screen. It also gives you at-a-glance
access to personalized information “bubbles” when
you’re on the Home screen.
Get to Know the Main Screen
• Carousel – The bottom row of tiles, or icons, on your
main screen. The carousel gives you instant access to
your favorite features.
To highlight a tile, press the navigation key left or right
to move the carousel. The center tile is the selected
tile. (The Home tile is in the center in the
illustration above, so the Home screen is displayed.)
To highlight an option above a tile, press the
navigation key up or down to select it.
• Bubbles – The at-a-glance information items that you
may see when the Home screen is displayed.
To access the phone’s main menu, highlight and
press .

Personalize Your Phone _
Personalize Your Home Screen
Add up to six bubbles to your Home screen to display
the information you want at a glance.
1. Highlight and press OPTIONS (left softkey) >
Personalize Home Screen > ADD (left softkey).
2. Highlight a bubble (such as News , Weather ,
Sports News , Finance , or Horoscope ) and
press ADD (left softkey). Follow the instructions to
customize your selection.
• Tousethebubbles,pressthenavigationkeyupor
down to highlight a bubble, and then press to
display more information.
Personalize Your Carousel
Your phone’s carousel holds up to 15 tiles. Add,
remove, and rearrange tiles as often as you like.

Use the built-in Tutorial to learn all you need to
know about Sprint One Click. Highlight and
press OPTIONS (left softkey) > Tutorial.
Use the External Keypad
From standby mode, touch to access to the phone
menus. From the external keypad you have access to
four menus. Use the navigation key to highlight and
select menus by touching .
• Usethetipofyourngertotouchthecenterofatouch
key. When the key is pressed off-center, it may activate
a nearby key instead.
• Touchkeysareveryresponsivetoyourtouch—you
don’t have to press hard.
• Wheneverthekeypadislocked,youmustrstturn
the key guard off to use your phone. To unlock the
keypad, slide the Power/Lock button ( ) down.

Getting Around Your Phone _

Voicemail _
Set Up Your Voicemail
All unanswered calls are automatically transferred to
your voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off.
You should set up your voicemail and personal greeting
as soon as your phone is activated:
•Press and hold and follow the system prompts
to create your passcode and record your name
and greeting.
Sprint strongly recommends setting a voicemail
passcode. Without a passcode, anyone who has access
to your phone can access your messages and place
outbound calls through your wireless account.
Retrieve Your Voicemail
From your phone:
•To use One Touch Message Access, press and
hold .
•To use the phone’s menu, highlight and press
> Messaging >Voicemail.
From any other phone:
1. Dial your wireless phone number.
2. When your voicemail answers, press .
3. Enter your passcode.
Contacts _
Save a Phone Number
1. Enter a phone number and press OPTIONS
(right softkey) > Save.
2. Select New Entry or Existing Entry.
3. For New Entry, select a type for the number (Mobile,
Home,Work,Pager,Fax,or Other), enter a name, and
add other information as needed.
For Existing Entry, select the entry, select a type, and
add other information as needed.
4. Press DONE (left softkey).
Retrieve a Phone Number
1. Press CONTACTS (right softkey).
2. Use your navigation key to scroll through the entries,
or use your keypad to enter the first few letters of an
entry’s name.
3. To display an entry, highlight it and press . To call
the entry’s default phone number, highlight it and
press .

Send a Message
1. Highlight and press > Messaging >
Send Message.
2. Select Go To Contacts to select a contact.

Press MULTIPLE (left softkey) to select multiple
recipients, and then press CONTINUE (left softkey).

Press NEW ADDRESS (right softkey) to enter a phone
number or email address directly, and then press
CONTINUE (left softkey).
3. Use your keypad to enter a message or press
OPTIONS (right softkey) to select additional options.
4. Press SEND (left softkey).
Pictures _
Take a Picture
1. Press and hold to activate the phone’s camera.
2. Using the phone’s main screen as a viewfinder, aim
the camera lens at your subject, and press .
