First start of the device
1 First and quick start of device
1.1 First start of the device
After starting up the device the rst time you are located on the settings page, you need to
login to the setup menu to congure the device. By default, the username and password
are admin.
After entering the conguration menu, the rst time. The user is forced to change the
admin password. This password must follow security requirements and must be remem-
bered all the time to be able to change the conguration of the device.

Note:
The password cannot be cleared or reset in case it is forgotten, a device fac-
tory reset to factory default will not recover the password. If you lost your admin
password of the device, please contact your local support agents to get the
password reset.

1.2 Congurationofthewebclient
1.2.1 The Settings Page
The settings page is the default start page.
Enter you credentials to open the conguration menu or press Load Homepage on the
write top to access the conguration done in the web browser setup. If you download a
new application, you can force the panel to clear the cache.
On the HTML5 web application, pressing for 5 seconds on the top left corner of the web-
panel touch screen will open the settings page.

After entering the conguration menu, you are forwarded to the Web Browser congura-
tion. To change the web Browser conguration, press the button EDIT on the right top on
the page.
Change the “on start” behavior of the device

Conguration of the web client
1.2.3 ConguretheNetworkinterface
By default, all network interfaces a congured for DHCP. The ETH0 (For PCD7.D5xxCF
beside the power connector) is congured as WAN port. If you connect the panel to the
network using ETH0 and a DHCP server is running the Ip-Address is automatically re-
quested from the DHCP server.
If no DHCP server is available or can’t be used on site, the conguration can be changed
to static IP conguration. To congure the network interface, open the “Network” tab and
press the EDIT button on the top right.
Disable the DHCP switch will allow you to enter the IP-Address manually. After you press
save the manually entered IP address will be used for the device.
Note:
The device has an internal rewall which blocks all incoming network trac,
including ICMP ping requests. Therefore, you can’t ping the device to test the
network connectivity.
1.2.4 Finish Quick start
The device is now correct congured to load the homepage you entered.
Therefore, you can close the setup menu to access the homepage by click EXIT in the
System Settings list. Depending on the Web Browser conguration “On Startup” the ap-
plication gets directly opened or you need to press Load Homepage on the Settings Page.

Touch screen calibration
2 Touch screen calibration
System Setting Calibration allows to calibrate Touchscreen device and can be accessed
by the tap-tap procedure.
Tap-tap consists in a sequence of several touch activations by simple means of the nger
tapping the touch screen performed during the power-up phase and started immediately
after the HMI is powered on.
When “tap-tap detected” message appears on the top of the screen, wait for 5 seconds
(without touching the screen) to enter System Settings sub menu
Press on touch screen, “Touchscreen calibration” voice will be highlighted in yellow, hold
pressed for few seconds until touchscreen calibration procedure starts.
Follow the instructions on screen to complete the calibration procedure, system will
prompt to touch specic points to calibrate the touchscreen device.
In compliance with the above regulations the products are CE marked.

3 Open the System settings menu
The system settings menu is entered after power on the device and entering valid creden-
tials “Username” and “Password” into the login mask.
3.1 The system settings
On the lift side in the system Settings screen the main topics of conguration is listed
Language Setup the language of the device
System System information, Status and Timers
Logs Congure logle generation
Date and Time Congure the date and time of the device
Network Congure the network settings of the Ethernet interfaces
Plugins Not used
Management Firmware updates and basic FW and booter congurations
Display Display setup like colors, timeouts and touch screen calibration
and more
Restart Restart the main or cong OS
Authentication Change passwords or create SSL certicates
Web Browser Congure the web browser properties like home page
Exit Will close the system settings view
Language Select the language for the system settings interface

3.3. Logs
Set the persistent log option if you want maintain the log les saved after a power reset.
Use save button to export a copy of the log les.
The log les manager cyclically lls 3 les of 4Mb
3.4 Date & Time
Device date and time.
3.5 Networks
Network parameters. Available parameter in edit mode:

Date and Time can set manually only when the Automatic Update is disabled.
Automatic Update (NTP) Enable to keep date and time synchronized from a remote server

Specify the Internet NTP Server address

Avahi Hostname (see “Avahi Daemon” below)
Network Interface Network parameters of the available interfaces
■DHCP
■ IP Address
■ Net Mask
■ Gateway
DNS DNSServers
Generally provided from the DHCP servers, but can be modied in edit mode
Search Domains
Optional domains that will be used in concatenation with the provided urls
3.6 Plugins
This page will show the parameters available to congure the optional plugins modules
attached to the HMI device. See the description of each plug-in module to additional infor-
mation.

3.7 Management
From the management area is possible “Update System Components” on page 18 of the
HMI device.
CAUTION:
Working in the Management area is a critical operation and, when not
performed correctly, may cause product damages requiring service of the
product. Contact technical support for assistance.
Use the “Clear” command inside the “Data” section to remove HMI Runt-
ime from the device (Factory Restore)

3.10 Authentication
Enter in edit mode to change the authentication passwords.
3.10.1 x.509Certicate
HMI Device use a self-certicate to encrypt the Internet communication trough the HTTPS
protocol. You can personalize the certicate with the data of your Company and ask to a
Certicate Authority to rm it.
The procedure to personalize and rm your certicate is:
1. Enter in edit mode and ll the necessary parameters, then generate the new certicate
with your data.
2. Export the “Certicate Signed Request”
3. Sent the “Certicate Signed Request” to a Certicate Authority to rm it (general this is
a paid service)
4. Import the signed certicate into the HMI device
3.10.2 Certicate’sparameters
Parameter Description
Device Name The name of your device
Organization The legal name of your organization
Unit The division of your organization handling the certicate
State The state/region where your organization is located
Location The city where your organization is located
Country The two-letter ISO code for the country where your organization is location
Valid (days) Validity of the certicate
Key Length Number of bits of the key used from the cryptographic algorithm
3.11 WebBrowser
Parameter Description
On Startup,
open Settings page
After a restart of the device the setting page is displayed were you can enter
the setup menu or device conguration
On Startup,
continue were you left
After a restart of the device the last active page will be loaded. This setting does
not work for project having a runtime like the Web Editor 8 or supervisor and will
always start with the start page assigned for the project.
On Startup,
open homepage
After a restart of the device, the homepage is directly loaded
Selecting continue were you left or open homepage will now longer allow you to enter the
setup menu.
3.12 Exit
Exit from the System Settings.

Create the recovery USB device
4. Factory reset
The factory reset sets back the device properties and settings to factory default.
What you need:
1. A USB
2. The chromium runtime for the device un6x-chromium-xx-x.x.zip
4.1 Create the recovery USB device
Format the device with a FAT32 lesystem and copy the complete le
“un6x-chromium-xx-x.x.zip” onto the USB
4.2 Restore the device from USB
Plugin the recovery USB device to the Panel you like to reset. To start the factory reset
use the Tap-tap function consists in a sequence of several touch activations starting di-
rectly after powering on the device.
When “tap-tap detected” message appears on the top of the screen, wait for 5 seconds
(without touching the screen) to enter System Settings sub menu

Restore the device from USB
don’t touch the screen to jump into the Default Mode of the device.
Open the Startup sequence
On the installed Apps on the left select the Chromium version and press Uninstall

After both elds are empty press Install and browse to the le “un6x-chromium-xx-x.x.zip”
located on mnt/usbmemory
Select the le “un6x-chromium-xx-x.x.zip”and press install
Wait or press done to execute the restart sequence
