1. SAFETY
WARNING! ALWAYS USE AXLE STANDS
WARNING! Please note that the handle socket of this jack is retained under tension and must be released
before use. Caution should be taken when releasing, as the handle socket will suddenly raise to its upright
position if not controlled.
9The user shall work only in accordance with this instruction manual.
9The operator shall be provided with all necessary information about training and about pumping and
translating forces.
9Ensure the jack is in sound condition and good working order. Take action for immediate repair or
replacement of damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. DO NOT modify the jack. The use of non-genuine
parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
9Locate the jack in a suitable, well lit working area.
9Keep working area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. Use jack on level and solid ground,
preferably concrete. Avoid tarmacadam as jack may sink in.
9Chock wheels of vehicle.
9Ensure the vehicle handbrake is engaged, engine is switched off and transmission is in gear (or “PARK”
if automatic).
9Ensure minimum distance of 0.5m between vehicle and static objects such as doors, walls, etc. to allow
for vehicle tilting.
9Ensure all non-essential persons keep a safe distance whilst the jack is in use.
9Ensure there are no passengers in the vehicle.
9It is necessary that the operator can watch the lifting device and the load during all movements.
9Place jack under only those lifting points recommended by vehicle manufacturer (see vehicle handbook).
9Check that the lifting point is stable and centred on the jack saddle.
9Ensure the jack wheels are free to move and that there are no obstructions.
▲DANGER: Use the jack for lifting only, NOT for supporting the lifted load.
9Ensure there are no persons or obstructions beneath the vehicle before lowering.
9It is not allowed to work under the raised load until it is secured by suitable means. Use suitable axle
stands under the vehicle before proceeding with any task.
9Use a qualied person to lubricate and maintain the jack.
9Ensure that only hydraulic jack oil is used in the jack.
8DO NOT operate the jack if damaged.
8DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the jack.
8DO NOT operate the jack when tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating medication.
8DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the jack.
8DO NOT allow the vehicle to move during lifting or lowering, or use the jack to move the vehicle.
8DO NOT jack vehicle if there is a risk of spillage of fuel, battery acid, or other dangerous substances.
8DO NOT work under the vehicle until appropriately rated axle stands have been correctly positioned.
8DO NOT use the jack for purposes other than that for which it is intended.
8DO NOT top up hydraulic system with brake uid. Use hydraulic jack oil only. (Sealey Part No:
HJO500MLS or HJO5LS)
8DO NOT adjust the safety overload valve.
9When not in use store jack, fully lowered, in a safe, dry, childproof area.
9If more than 400N of effort is generated in lifting, the efforts shall be lowered by an additional person.
9Jacks shall be maintained and repaired in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Such maintenance and repair shall be
carried out by qualied persons.
9No modications shall be carried out which adversely affect the compliance of the jack with the standard.
9Check the state of the markings and that the markings remain as the initial one.

2. INTRODUCTION
High lift jack arm ideal when lifting a light commercial vehicle. Fitted with quick lift foot pedal. Heavy-duty long steel chassis provides
easy-access to deep set jacking points. Fitted with one-piece hydraulic unit with built-in safety overload protection.

Handle Retaining Clip
4.1. The pedal link is already assembled to the body of the jack.
4.2. To attach the foot pedal pass the bolt as shown in g.2. through the pedal link and foot pedal and tighten the nut.
4.3. Loosen the handle bolt and insert the handle as far as possible, tighten the bolt. g.2.
4.4. RELEASING THE RETAINING CLIP
4.4.1. Seek assistance from a second person if required.
4.4.2. Push down on the handle and pull out the clip that is securing the handle socket in the down position.
4.4.3. Gently and in a controlled manner, slowly allow the handle section and handle socket to raise to their upright position.
4.4.4. Replace the handle retaining bolt to secure the handle in the socket.
5. OPERATION
NOTE: Air sometimes gets into the hydraulic system, causing poor lifting performance. Before initial operation, to purge any air from
the system open the release valve at the top of the jack handle by turning it anti-clockwise. Place a weight on the saddle and pump the
jack handle rapidly several times, then close the release valve.
WARNING! Before lifting ensure Safety instructions are read and understood. Position the jack saddle under the vehicle manufacturer’s
recommended lifting point.
5.1. RAISING THE JACK
5.1.1. Turn the handle knob clockwise until resistance is felt to close the release valve. DO NOT over tighten
5.1.2. Place jack directly under object to be lifted. Make sure weight is positioned centrally. Check positioning under slight load to conrm jack
or load will not slip.
5.1.3. Raise jack by pumping handle until desired height is reached.
5.1.4. After lifting to required height support on axle stands.
5.2. LOWERING JACK
5.2.1. Slowly turn handle knob anti clockwise.
NOTE: This jack is tted with descent control for safer operation.
6. MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT: Only fully qualied personnel should attempt maintenance or repair.
Jacks shall be maintained and repaired in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Such maintenance and repair shall be carried
out by qualied persons. No modications shall be carried out which
adversely affect the compliance of the jack with the standard. Check the
state of the markings and that the markings remain as the initial one.
6.1. CHECKING HYDRAULIC OIL LEVEL
6.1.1. Open release valve (turn handle knob anti clockwise) and push ram to its
lowest position.
6.1.2. Remove oil filler plug. see fig.4.
6.1.3. Fill with clean hydraulic jack oil. DO NOT use hydraulic brake fluid.
6.1.4. Re-fit oil filler plug.
6.2. LUBRICATION
6.2.1. Add lubricating oil to all moving and pivoting with light oil once or twice a
month, depending on frequency of use.
