1. SAFETY
WARNING! Wear approved eye protection. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. A full range of Personal Protective
Equipment is available from your Sealey stockist.
WARNING! Ensure that Health & Safety, Local Authority Regulations and general workshop practice Regulations are adhered to when
using tools.
8DO NOT use tools if damaged.
9Maintain tools to ensure that they are in an adequate condition for safe use and optimum performance.
9Ensure that a vehicle that has been raised by a jack is adequately supported. Use axle stands.
8DO NOT attempt to start or move a vehicle whilst in gear and with timing devices tted.
9Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. DO NOT wear jewellery. Tie back long hair.
9Account for all tools, parts and components being used. DO NOT leave these in or near the engine. Return tools to suitable storage
after use.
9When not in use, store in a safe, dry childproof place.
9Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.

2. INTRODUCTION
Stretch belt tting kit for Ford and Volvo. Designed for use where universal tools won’t work due to the wider crankshaft pulley which restricts
access. Time saving tool, simple to use, one part of the kit clips over the crankshaft pulley to guide the belt, the other part ts over the water
pump pulley and with a 17mm socket it’s simply rotated until the belt is in located correctly on all the pulleys. Suitable for Ford 1.4, 1.6 (Focus,
C-Max, Mondeo) and Volvo 1.6 (S40, C30, V50) petrol engines.

4. OPERATION
4.1. Ford and Volvo 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engine applications with a double crankshaft pulley have a restricted access, and will require the
use of the Sealey VS790 Stretch Belt Installation Tool.
4.2. FITTING THE NEW AUXILIARY BELT
4.2.1. Fit the VSE790.01 Installation Tool over the water pump pulley, ensure the securing bracket is located behind the pulley and tighten
the securing bolt.
4.2.2. Fit the VS790.02 Guide Tool over the outer part of the crankshaft pulley in the 12 o’clock position with the blade slotted in-between
the two parts of the pulley.
4.2.3. Fit the new auxiliary belt fully onto all of the pulleys except the water pump, g.1.
4.2.4. Using a 17mm spanner, rotate the VS790.01 Installation Tool through approximately 90° to locate the belt onto the water pump
pulley.
4.2.5. Remove the tooling and rotate the crankshaft through 360° and check to make sure the belt is correctly located on all of the pulleys.

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
