1. SAFETY
WARNING! Ensure that Health and Safety, local authority and general workshop practice regulations are strictly adhered to.
8DO NOT use the tool if it, or any attachment, is damaged.
9Maintain the tool in a good, clean condition for the best and safest performance.
9If required, ensure that the vehicle to be worked on is adequately supported with axle stands or ramps and is chocked.
9Put transmission in PARK (automatic transmission) or NEUTRAL (manual transmission) and make sure the parking brake is
engaged.
9Wear approved eye protection. A full range of personal safety equipment is available from your Sealey dealer.
9Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. Do not wear jewellery and tie back long hair.
WARNING! Use extreme caution when working around the ignition coil, distributor cap, ignition wires and spark plugs. These
components create hazardous voltages when the engine is running.
8DO NOT connect or disconnect any test equipment with the ignition on, or the engine running.
9 Keepareextinguishernearbythatissuitableforpetrol/chemical/electricalres.
9Account for all tools and parts being used and do not leave any in the engine bay.
9Keep the tool dry, clean and free from oil, water and grease. Use a mild detergent on a clean cloth to clean the
outside of the tool.
9 Ensurethatthevehicleisparkedoutside,onanon-ammablesurfaceandawayfromanycombustibles.
WARNING! The exhaust system could reach temperatures above 300°C. Also exhaust gases are poisonous.
IMPORTANT: Always refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s service instructions to establish the current procedure and data. These
instructions are provided as a guide only.

by the operator.
9When not in use, store the tool away in its box, in a cool, dry, safe, childproof location.
2. INTRODUCTION
Essential tool for extinguishing the Particulate Filter light after the filter has been replaced. Also resets the ELOYS additive after it has been
topped up and burns any particles that have clogged the filters (regenerate). Powered by connection to the vehicle.
3. FEATURES
The VS8626 tool:
3.1. Is compatible with the latest CAN vehicles.
3.2. Enables Fuel Additive functions for Replacing Filters, resetting

4. OPERATION
4.1. Filter Replace –This is a light on the dashboard that is illuminated when the lter is clogged and needs changing, or
potentially regenerating.
4.2. Additive Reset – This is a light on the dashboard that is illuminated when the fuel additive is empty or low and needs relling.
4.3. Regenerate Filter – This will increase the engine speed to around 4000 RPM, which in turn will increase the temperature of
the exhaust gases; this causes the soot that has built up on the lter to be burnt o.
4.4. Vehicle Set-Up
4.4.1. Ensurethatthevehicleisparkedoutside,onanon-ammablesurfaceandawayfromanycombustibles(theexhaustsystemcould
reach temperatures above 300°C). That it’s engine is at working temperature, with at least a ¼ tank of fuel and that there are no
fault codes stored.
4.4.2. Ensurethatthevehicle’signitionisturnedo.
4.4.3. Connect the tool to the correct diagnostic socket on the vehicle, refer to the vehicle owner’s manual for it’s location.
4.4.4. Turn on the vehicle’s ignition.
Note: As part of the process, a clear codes message will be sent to the vehicle (any faults that are permanent on the vehicle will
remainuntilthefaultisxed).

4.5. Filter Replace
4.5.1. Press the Function button to select the appropriate system. (There is a
full list of systems on the rear of the tool).
4.5.2. Press Mode button to select correct type (Filter Replace).
4.5.3. Press the ‘OK’ button to perform the function.
4.5.4. Oncethefunctionhascompleted,theModeLEDwillashtoindicatea
successful reset.
4.5.5. Ifthefunctionisunsuccessful,the3SystemSelectionLEDswillash.
4.6. Additive Reset
4.6.1. Press the Function button to select the appropriate system. (There is a full
list of systems on the rear of the tool).
4.6.2. Press Mode button to select correct type (Additive Reset).
4.6.3. Press the ‘OK’ button to perform the function.
4.6.4. Oncethefunctionhascompleted,theModeLEDwillashtoindicatea
successful reset.
4.6.5. Ifthefunctionisunsuccessful,the3SystemSelectionLEDswillash.
4.6.6. Disconnecttester,openllercapformorethan5seconds,thenclose`
again.
4.7. Regenerate Filter
4.7.1. Start the vehicle’s engine and allow it to warm up.
4.7.2. Press the Function button to select the appropriate system. (There is a full
list of systems on the rear of the tool).
4.7.3. Press Mode button to select correct type (Regenerate Filter).
4.7.4. Press the ‘OK’ button to perform the function.
4.7.5. Oncethefunctionhascompleted,theModeLEDwillashtoindicatea
successful reset.
4.7.6. Ifthefunctionisunsuccessful,the3SystemSelectionLEDswillash.
4.7.7. Switchtheignitiono,unplugthetoolandturnignitionon.
NOTE: Regeneration takes around 15 mins in total (2 mins running at idle,
8minsat4000rpmandthen5minsatidle).Ensurethatrear/exhaustarea
of the vehicle is kept clear of people for this period.

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.

Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid
waste authority for recycling information.
