1. General Information
1-1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing SELFSAT CARAVAN MOBIL portable automatic satellite camping
system.
CARAVAN MOBIL has the ability to automatically locate satellites, is light in weight and has
two handlesfor easy portability. Since it is integrated in the case, it can be stored
without additional packaging when not in use, making it easy to utilize space.
With CARAVAN MOBIL, you can decide how and where to watch your favorite TV shows in
best picture and sound quality wherever you go.
1-2. Proper use and operation
This instruction manual describesthe functions and operation of CARAVAN MOBIL.
Observing the precautions in this manual is to prevent unexpected danger or damage in
advance by using the product safely and correctly.
Please read the user manual carefully before starting the installation and always follow all
warnings and information.
After reading, keep it in a place where the user can always review it.
If you do not follow the instruction manual, the device may be damaged, and the manufac-
turer is not responsible for any damage caused by careless use.
In order to receive a satellite signal, the product must be mounted outdoors with a clear view
towards the satellite in the direction of the equator. Make sure that there are no obstacles,
such as buildings, vehicles or trees in front of the antenna as these may reduce the quality of
the signal reception.

3. How to Use
The basic operation of a CARAVAN MOBIL follows these steps:

Connect the CARAVAN MOBIL and the PI BOX with the signal cable.
Connect the PI BOX and the STB (receiver) with the PI cable.
Turn the TV and STB (receiver) on.
Operate the antenna by pressing the POWER button on the PI BOX.
When the antenna finds a satellite, you can watch TV.

After watching TV, press the HOME button on the PI BOX to fold the antenna back to
its original status (HOME position).
After confirming that the MAIN UNIT is completely folded and the power of the PI
BOX is turned off, disconnect the signal cable.

If the PI BOX is powered off and the unit is moved while the antenna is not in the
HOME position, the antenna may be damaged. Before moving the unit, first
check the condition of the antenna, fold it fully to the HOME position, and turn
off the power.
Check the operating radius of the antenna, and operate it in a place where
there are no obstacles in the way of movement.
Do not apply pressure to the case. If the antenna is under pressure, it will
reduce the gain (how much signal the antenna sends to the receiver) of the
antenna. this can result in a degraded picture.
At the bottom of the antenna you will find a storage. Unscrew the thumbscrew and
remove the cover. When not in use, you can wrap the cable around the hooksand
store it.

When powered on by pressing the PI BOX's POWER button, after about 10 seconds, the
antenna starts searching for pre-programmed or most recently received satellite.
a. When the antenna is in the HOME position, it
starts searching for satellite.
b. When the antenna is pointing towards the
satellite, it will not move.
c. When the antenna is in a different position
than in the case of a and b above, it first
moves to the HOME position and then starts
searching for satellite.
d. If the antenna does not find a satellite for 10
minutes, the antenna returns to HOME
position.
e. Want to search for satellites again, reboot the
PI BOX.
a. Press POWER button
Press and hold the POWER button of the PI BOX for more than 2 seconds, the power is
turned off regardless of the status of the antenna.
b. Press HOME button
When the HOME button of PI BOX is pressed the antenna moves to the HOME
position. After that, if there is no other input for more than 60 seconds, the power is
automatically turned off. (the POWER LED and the HOME LED will blink alternately for
60 seconds)
The pre-programmed satellite is ASTRA1, which can be changed to the desired
satellite via the APP.

Download the SAT CONNECT app from the App store (Android/iOS).
Check the MAC Address at your antenna unit
(on the antenna or PI BOX / User manual)
When you run the downloaded application, a connectable
antenna unit is automatically detected
Select the one that matches your antenna MAC Address.
(The MAC address of CARAVAN MOBIL is GP-xx:xx:xx )
Click the 'connect' button to complete BT connection between
your antenna unit and your smart device

Indicates the current status of the antenna.
Satellite selection window
Select a satellite to search. The pre-programmed satellite is ASTRA1,
which can be changed to the desired satellite via the APP.
Used to move the antenna to the HOME position
The orange lamp blinks while moving to the HOME position, and the
green lamp turns on after it has completely moved to the HOME position.
Used for searching satellites
Select the desired satellite and press the button, the antenna will search
for it. While searching for a satellite, the orange lamp flashes, and when
a satellite is found, the green lamp lights up.
F/W Update
Used to update the firmware of the antenna.
During a firmware update stay close to your PI BOX, make sure that your
smartphone or tablet will not run out of battery, don´t use any other
apps in parallel and don´t do any calls in order not to lose or interrupt
the connection and to completely finish the upload. In case the
firmware update couldn´t be fully uploaded and finished your antenna
needs to be sent to the service center.

This process is performed when you want to receive a satellite other
than the one set as the default.
The SELFSAT CARAVAN MOBIL optimally finds the satellite you want to
receive, but in order to match the received satellite with the best signal
quality, the rotation angle (skew) of the LNB must be set within a
certain range.
The actual "skew angle" depends on the satellite you are trying to
receive and your location.
Refer to the satellites you want to receive and your location in the
image below and adjust the skew accordingly.
Accuracy is not critical, so small tolerances are acceptable.
Turning the LNB little by little to find the position that maximizes the
signal quality of the satellites on your TV screen, and then fix the LNB.

There are a number of common issues that can affect the signal reception quality or the
operation of the unit. The following sections address these issues and potential
solutions.

A. No function when power on the antenna
Check again all the cable connections have been made correctly.

If the antenna does not move into desired position.

B. Fail to search the satellite
Make sure there are no obstructions in a southward direction.
Satellite signals can be blocked or degraded by buildings or trees.
Turn the PI BOX off and then back on again.
Check if the PI BOX is powered on (Check POWER LED of PI BOX is on)
Check if the power input cable has been damaged.
Check that the POWER input cable and the battery polarities (+/-) are connected correctly
(If the power input cable is connected to the battery).

5. Legal notices
Safety instruction
The safety precautions below are intended to prevent unexpected danger or damage in
advance through safe and correct use of the product.
If you do not follow the instruction manual, the device may be damaged, and the
manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by careless use.
The unit is programmed to automatically move in a direction where it can
receive preset satellite TV signal. For general operation, ensure that the
system is in a position with a clear view to the sky. If the satellite‘s signal is
interrupted by obstacles such as mountains, buildings or trees, no TV signal
will be received.
For power input and other safety information, refer to the rating label on the
back of the device.
This system operates with a rated voltage of 12 V DC. Never try to operate the
device with another voltage. For portable use, optional power adaptor offered
by manufacturer must be used.
The manufacturer does not take liability for direct or indirect consequential
damage of the system or other equipment by reason of unsuitable battery
usage or faulty installation or wrong wire connection.
Use of the system for purposes other than those specified is not permitted.
The use of other reflectors or other LNBs than those originally installed is not
permitted.
Never disassemble the device! Any attempt by unqualified person to service
the device may be dangerous and will void the warranty!
Do not place the unit in water, or areas where water may pool, as pooling water
could damage the electronics. If this is not observed, it may damage the system.
Care should be taken when transporting and setting up the antenna. Do not
step on the product or place heavy objects on it. Do not subject the system to
external shocks such as dropping or throwing it. When the antenna is damaged,
the gain of the antenna (the amount of signal it sends to the receiver)
decreases. This may degrade the quality of the TV signal.
Install the system in a suitable location (such as a flat surface where the device
can be set up reliably). If this is not observed, it may damage the system or
cause an accident.

Exclusion of liability
The warranty for this product corresponds to the statutory provisions at the time of
purchase.
Satco Europe GmbH accepts no liability or warranty for damage resulting from improp-
er installation or assembly, as well as improper use of the product or failure to observe
the safety instructions.
If the product is forcibly stopped during operation (when the product is
rotating or the antenna is being lifted), damage to the product or personal
injury may result.
Before moving the system, switch it off and disconnect all connected cables. If
you move the antenna with the cables attached, you risk stumbling over the
cables and injuring yourself.
If the system shows any signs of damage, it must not be switched on.
Do not paint the antenna. Painting the antenna may cause signal degradation
and will void your warranty.
When removing the plug from the power outlet, pull on the plug, not the cable.
All service must be carried out at approved service centers.
If water has penetrated the system, switch it off and inform the service depart-
ment.
Do not expose the device to heat sources that will heat it up more than normal
use.
If you detect a device defect, odor or smoke, considerable malfunctions, or
damage to the housing, switch off the device and inform the service depart-
ment.
Never try to repair a faulty device yourself. Always contact one of our
customer service points.

CARAVAN MOBIL entschieden haben.
Die CARAVAN MOBIL hat die Fähigkeit, Satelliten automatisch zu lokalisieren, ist leicht und
kompakt und hat zwei Griffe für einfachen Transport. Da sie in einem Koffer fest integriert ist,
