∙The appliance and its power
cord must be kept well away
from children under 8 at all
times.
∙Caution: Keep any packaging materials
well away from children – such materials
are a potential source of danger, e.g. of
suffocation.
∙Before the appliance is used, the main
body as well as any attachments fitted
should be checked thoroughly for any
defects. If the appliance, for instance,
has been dropped onto a hard surface, it
must no longer be used: even invisible
damage may have adverse effects on its
operational safety.
∙The power cord should be regularly
examined for any signs of damage. In the
event of such damage being found, the
appliance must no longer be used.
∙Always position the appliance with
sufficient surrounding space. Do not
place it directly by a wall or in a corner,
or near curtains or similar objects. Keep
inflammable objects well away and do not
cover the appliance during use.
∙Always place the unit on a level, heat-
resistant work surface impervious to
splashes and stains.
∙To prevent damage to the housing and
the power cord, do not place or operate
the appliance on or near hot surfaces
(e.g. stove plates) or open flames.
∙Do not leave the appliance unattended
while in use.
∙Never attempt to cut the crêpes on the
crêpe-plate. To prevent damage to the
non-stick coating of the plate, only heat-
resistant plastic or wooden implements
should be used.
∙Always switch off and remove the plug
from the wall socket
-after use,
-in cases of malfunction,
-during cleaning.
∙When removing the plug from the wall
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.
∙Do not let the power cord hang free.
∙Do not allow the power cord to touch any
hot parts of the appliance.
∙Do not operate or store the appliance
outdoors or in humid environments or
rooms such as a cellar or garage.
∙No responsibility will be accepted if
damage results from improper use, or if
these instructions are not complied with.
Before using for the first time
∙Take the appliance and all accessories
from their packaging. Remove and
dispose of all packing materials.
∙Unwind the power cord completely.
∙Let the appliance heat up for 5 minutes
at maximum power. During this initial
heating period, a slight smell may be
emitted. For that reason, adequate
ventilation should be ensured by opening
windows or balcony doors.
∙Let the appliance cool down afterwards
and clean it as described in the section
Cleaning and care.
