ventilation slots must always be kept open an free of any ebris or
blockage.
The shuffler is equippe with a power cor appropriate for use in North
America. If the shuffler is being utilize outsi e North America, please

meets its requirements. As a minimum, the power cor use with the
shuffler must meet the following requirements: 0.5 amps, 100-240 volts.
Be certain that the shuffler is connecte to a groun e outlet when in

2.0 Principles of Operation
Principles of Operation
The
MD2® CR
multi- eck car shuffler shuffles four, six or eight ecks of
car s. Two sets of car s are require (usually ifferent color ecks) to
utilize the shuffler more effectively for game play: while one set of car s
is in play, the other set is being shuffle . The car recognition function
can be set in the Setup menu of the
MD2® CR
to rea car s uring the
shuffle. The
MD2® CR
shuffler can be configure for a number of
stan ar games or any number of car s from 208 to 424, epen ing on
the user setting.
In non-Car Recognition mo e the car s are counte as they are shuffle
in. The shuffle is aborte if the number of car s counte is ifferent from
the number of car s selecte .
In Car Recognition mo e the car ecks are i entifie by optical means
as they are shuffle . The shuffle is aborte if the car s i entifie uring
the shuffle are ifferent from the expecte car s for the selecte game.
(Missing, Extra or Unknown).
At the beginning of each cycle, the ran om number generator (RNG)
assigns a location within a virtual rack for each car of the un-shuffle
eck. The car s are loa e into a Fee er. As the car s are fee ing in
(from the bottom of the eck), the program executes the outcome
etermine by the RNG. A moveable Platform positions the car s in the
shuffling compartment to the correct location. A set of grippers will grip
the car s at that location an the Platform will move own creating a gap
for the next car to be inserte .
When all the car s are inserte , the Platform raises the shuffle eck to
be use by the ealer.
Card Learning
Car learning is the metho by which the
MD2® CR
shuffler rea s all
in ivi ual car s in a eck of car s an stores images an parameters for
the geometry of the car s (location an size of the suit an rank symbols)
for future optical character recognition.
Card Tuning
Car tuning is the metho by which the optical character recognition
parameters are “fine-tune ” after car learning. The camera an
geometric parameters are a juste base upon manual a ministrator
inputs. Car tuning is necessary for accurate operation of the
MD2® CR
shuffler.
