BIOSSettings
TheSD32G2BIOSROMhasabuilt-inSetup programthatallowsuserstomodify
basicsystemconfiguration.Thisinformation isstoredinbattery-backedRAMsothatit
retainsSetup information evenif thesystempoweristurnedoff.
ThesystemBIOSmanagesand executesavarietyofhardwarerelatedfunctions
including:

EntertheBIOS
To entertheBIOS(BasicInput/OutputSystem)utility,followthesesteps:
Step1.Poweron thecomputer.Thesystemwill perform itsPOST(Power-On
Self Test) routinechecks.
Step2.Press the<Del>key immediately,oratthefollowingmessage:
Press DEL toenterSETUP,orsimultaneouslypress <Ctrl>,<Alt>,
<Esc>keys
Note1.If you miss trainsofwordsmentionedinstep2 (themessage disap-
pears beforeyou canrespond)and you still wishtoenterBIOSSetup,
restartthesystemand tryagainbyturningthecomputerOFF and
ONagainorbypressingthe<RESET>switchlocatedatthe
computer’sfront-panel. You may alsorebootbysimultaneously
pressingthe<Ctrl>,<Alt>, <Del> keyssimultaneously.
Note2.If you do notpress thekeysintimeand systemdoesnotboot,the
screenwill promptanerrormessage,and you will begiventhe
followingoptions:
"Press F1toContinue,DEL toEnterSetup”
Step3.Whenyou entertheBIOSprogram,theCMOSSetup Utilitywill displaythe

oftheinstalledchipset. Thischipsetmanagesbusspeedsand access tosys-
temmemoryresources,suchasDRAMand theexternalcache.It alsocoor-
dinatescommunicationsbetweentheconventionalISAbusand thePCIbus.
It statesthattheseitemsshouldneverneedtobealtered.
Thedefault settingshave beenchosenbecausethey providethebestoperat-
ingconditionsforyoursystem.If you discoveredthatdatawasbeinglost
whileusingyoursystem,you mightconsidermakinganychanges.
DRAMTimingSelectable
Thisitemallowsyou toselectthevalueinthisfield,dependingon whether
theboardusingwhichkind ofDDRDRAM.
