Introducing the USB 2.0 to VGA Adapter
The USB 2.0 to VGA allows you to connect a monitor, LCD
or projector to your PC or notebook and use it as an
extended desktop or as a larger/different display for your
main screen.

Layout
Installation
It is recommended that you install the driver Before
connecting the USB 2.0 to VGA to the computer.
Windows7(32-/64-bit)
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, in the Search
programs and files box, type D:\setup.exe, press
Enter.(Change D: to match your CD-ROM drive
letter)
Note: Close the CD auto-start pop-up window if it
appears.

2. At User Account Controls, click Yes.
3. Click Next,
4. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement,
click Next.
5. SelectYes, I want to restart my computer now, then
click Finish.
6. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to
VGA and turn it on.
7. When Windows resumes, plug the USB 2.0 to VGA
into the computer.
Note: Some systems will go to 8-bit resolution after
installing the driver. Please reset it back to your
normal resolution.
WindowsVista™(32-/64-bit)
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, in theStart Search
box, type D:\setup.exe, press Enter, then click
Continue.(Change D: to match your CD-ROM
drive letter)
2. Click Next, select I accept the terms of the license
agreement, click Next.
3. Click Install, then click Finish.
4. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to
VGA and turn it on.

5. When Windows resumes, plug the USB 2.0 to VGA
into the computer.
6. Click Install two times.
Note: Some systems will go to 8-bit resolution after
installing the driver. Please reset it back to your
normal resolution.
WindowsXP(32-/64-bit)
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, then Run, type
D:\setup.exe, click OK. (Change D: to match your
CD-ROM drive letter)
2. Click Next, select I accept the terms of the license
agreement, then click Next.
3. Click Continue Anyway, then click Finish.
4. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to
VGA and turn it on. When Windows resumes,
connect the USB 2.0 to VGA to the computer.
5. Select No, not this time, click Next.
6. Select Install the software automatically
(Recommended), click Next, click Continue
Anyway three times, then click Finish to complete
the installation.
Note: The main screen will blink to blank screen a
couple of times during the installation. This is
normal.

WindowsServer2003(32-bit)
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, in the Start Search
box, type D:\setup.exe, click OK.(Change D: to
match your CD-ROM drive letter)
2. Click Next, select I accept the terms of the license
agreement, click Next.
3. Click Install, then click Finish.
4. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to
VGA and turn it on.
5. When Windows resumes, plug the USB 2.0 to VGA
into the computer.
6. Click Install two times.
Note: Some systems will go to 8-bit resolution after
installing the driver. Please reset it back to your
normal resolution.
Windows2000
Important: You must install DirectX 9.0 or above to work
in Windows 2000, go to www.Microsoft.com for details.
1. Insert the driver CD. Click Start, then Run, type
D:\setup.exe, click OK. (Change D: to match your
CD-ROM drive letter)
2. Click Next, select I accept the terms of the license
agreement, click Next, then click Finish.

3. Connect your second monitor to the USB 2.0 to
VGA and turn it on. When Windows resumes,
connect the USB 2.0 to VGA to the computer and the
drivers will install automatically.
4. Restart Windows to complete the installation.
ToVerifyWindows Installation
1. Right click Computer or My Computer, then click
Manage.
For Windows 7: Click Device Manager.
For Windows Vista:ClickContinue,thenclickDevice
Manager.
For Windows Server 2003 / 2000 / XP: Click Device
Manager.
2. DoubleclickUniversal Serial Bus controller, a USB
Display Device (T1P) should be displayed.
3. Double click Display adapters, Trigger USB
Graphics Chipset Family (1P-E) and Trigger USB
Graphics Chipset Family (1P-M) should be
displayed.

Display Utility
After successful driver installation a display utility will
appear in the lower right portion of the taskbar. This
utility allows you to quickly change the settings and
resolutions for the USB 2.0 to VGA. Access the menu by
right clicking the icon.
ViewingModes
• Extended: This is the default setting of the USB 2.0
to VGA. This mode extends your desktop for easy
viewing of multiple windows. Windows will move
off the primary display from the right side and
enter the extended display from the left side.
•Primary: This mode, makes the USB 2.0 to VGA the
main display adapter in the system. The system's
main display will automatically switch to being the
secondary display adapter and act as the extended
desktop.
•Mirror: In this mode, the USB 2.0 to VGA will
mirror your desktop. You will see the same image
on both monitors.
•Off: This setting turns off the USB 2.0 to VGA
adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Why won't my DVD player work when I move it
over to the extended display?
A1: Some DVD playback software packages do not
support playing on a second display adapter.
Q2: How come my video will not play on Media Player
if I move it over to the extended desktop?
A2: Check that you have moved the Media Player
window completely over to the extended screen.
Q3: There are lines running horizontally up and down
my screen or the screen is distorted
A3: This is due to a low or unsupported refresh rate
setting. You can change this in Display Properties/
Settings/Advanced/Monitor. Make sure you
select the USB 2.0 to VGA adapter and not set the
refresh rate higher than what your monitor can
support.
Q4: Why can't I make the USB 2.0 to VGA the primary
display?
A4: Some video cards ship their product with a utility
that prevents other video cards from being set as
the primary video card. Check the bottom right
hand corner of the taskbar for the utility. Disable
the utility before switching the USB 2.0 to VGA
adapter to be the primary display.
