Operation
To use the unit appropriately and efficiently, we recommend
that the user familiarize themselves with the ultraviolet
security features of the bills or ocuments they want to
analyze. In doing so, the ultraviolet security features will be
highlighted and easily recognizable by the user(s). The UV
reaction may differ depending on the side being analyzed
(for bills or documents that have UV security features visible
from both sides). For this reason, we recommend analyzing
both sides of the bill or document.
Place the banknote or document in the verification area, and
try to activate the automatic sensor with the banknote itself
while positioning it. The detector has an internal timer that
turns off the light a few seconds after the bill is removed. It
also has a protection mode that will deactivate the UV light
if the lamp is in continuous use for more than 3 minutes. If
you need more time to continue examining the banknote,
simply remove the banknote from the activation sensor and
reposition it to activate the light again.
NOTE: The detector includes a “Security Thread
Identification” label that shows the operator the COLOR and
POSITION of the security thread embedded on the U.S.
dollar bill for every specific denomination. Use the following
image as a reference. Please keep in mind that, for the
operator to validate the bill, the security thread must
match the approximate position and color shown on the
“Security Thread Identification” label.
