INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: Remove banknote cassette from validator and remove metal cover plate (lift cover
plate as marked by the label on the plate).
STEP 2: Attach the ground strap to your wrist and the other end with the clip to a metal water
pipe or electric ground.
STEP 3: Locate the CPU chip (AMZ-154 and AMZ-PLUS models) or the PROM chip
(AMZ-1100 models).
IMPORTANT: Note the location of the chamfered edge before you remove the
chip.

STEP 4: Locate the corner slots in the socket and insert the hooks of the extraction tool. While
gently squeezing the tool, the chip can be lifted out of the socket. Pay attention to the
fact that one corner of the chip has a chamfered edge. The socket also has a corner to
fit this edge.

STEP 5: Locate the chamfered edge on the new chip, place the new chip in the socket and
press down. NOTE: The chip should go down into the socket with little effort. DO NOT
FORCE IT. DO NOT ALIGN THE CHIP ACCORDING TO THE POSITION OF THE
LABEL. MATCH THE CHAMFERED EDGE.

NOTE: 24 Volt models use US3B-S30 or US4B-S30 CPU chip.
STEP 6: DIP switch settings do not change. Re-install the cover plate and your cassette, and
apply the update sticker to the outside of your validator for reference.
STEP 7: Power up the validator and begin accepting the new $ 5 and $ 10 bills.
