instructions are a part of this product. They contain important information on
its safety, use and disposal. Familiarise yourself with all of these operating and
safety instructions before using the product. Use this appliance only as described
and only for the specified areas of application. Additionally, pass these instruc-
tions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date.

This appliance is intended exclusively for chopping small quantities of boneless
foodstuffs.
This appliance in intended exclusively for use in domestic households. Do not
use the appliance commercially!

► Pay heed to the procedures described in these operating instructions.

Safety instructions
In this chapter you will receive important safety information regarding the handling
of the appliance.
This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations.
Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage.
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
DANGER - RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
► Connect this appliance only to correctly installed mains power sockets
supplying a mains voltage of 220-240 V ~/50 Hz.
► To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or power cables to be
replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service
Department.
► In the event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance,
remove the plug from the mains power socket.
► Always remove the power cable from the socket by pulling on the plug,
not on the power cable itself.
► Do not kink or crimp the power cable and place it in such a way as to
prevent anyone from stepping on or tripping over it.
► NEVER immerse the motor unit of the appliance in liquids and do NOT
allow any liquids to enter the housing of the motor unit.
► Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors.
Should liquids enter the housing, unplug the appliance from the mains
power socket immediately and arrange for it to be repaired by a qualified
technician.
► NEVER take hold of the motor unit, the power cable or the plug with wet
hands.
► If the power cable or the motor unit are damaged, you must have the
appliance repaired by qualified technicians before using it again.
► Do not open the housing of the appliance motor unit. Should you do
so, the safety concept of the appliance may be compromised and the
warranty becomes void.
► Disconnect the appliance from the mains power source immediately after
use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power ONLY when
unplugged.

► This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children)
with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences
in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the
appliance is to be used.
► Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
► Handle the extremely sharp blade with caution, it can cause injuries.
Reassemble the appliance after using and/or cleaning it so that you do not
injure yourself with the exposed blade. Keep the blade out of the reach of
children.
► NEVER attempt to remove foodstuffs from the bowl for as long as the blade
is still rotating. Risk of injury!
► Before removing the motor block, wait until the blade has stopped rotating.
NEVER try to grasp the still rotating blade! Risk of injury!
CAUTION - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
► Pay heed to the table regarding the filling quantities given in the chapter
“Chopping”. Exceeding these may cause foodstuffs to spill out.

or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).

Initial Preparations
Unpacking
♦ Remove all components of the appliance and these operating instructions
from the carton.
♦ Remove all packaging material.
♦ Clean all of the components as described in the section "Cleaning and
care".
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material that is
no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
► If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty
period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can package the appli-
ance ideally for its return.

1) Place the bowl 7in the appliance base 8.
2) Place the blade holder 5with the blade 6on the drive shaft in the interior
of the bowl 7.
3) Prepare the items to be processed by cutting large pieces to a size that will
fit in the bowl 7.
4) Place the food to be processed in the bowl 7. Thereby, pay heed to the
following table:

5) Ensure that the sealing ring 4is inserted into the lid 3: the two rubber lips on
the sealing ring 4must engage in the plastic rail in the interior of the lid 3.
6) Then close the bowl 7with the lid 3: Place it on the bowl 7so that the
lugs on the lid 3engage in the slots on the bowl 7. Then turn the lid 3
so that the lugs slide unter the slots and the lid 3locks into place.
7) Place the motor unit 2on the lid 3.
8) Press the motor unit 2down to start the motor at normal operating speed.
9) To obtain the higher processing speed "Turbo“ for the contents, in addition to
the motor unit 2press and hold down the turbo button 1. As soon as you
release the turbo button 1the appliance returns to the normal operating
speed.
NOTICE
► Should larger pieces of the contents collect on the wall of the bowl while
processing, lift the motor unit 2from the lid 3. Shake the bowl 7vigorously
and then continue with the processing. Remove possible residues with a
dough scraper.
► Before starting the processing, particularly hard foods must be cut into
smaller pieces (about 2cm). Otherwise, the motor will block. Select a
pulsating processing for hard foodstuffs. For this, press the turbo button
1repeatedly for a short time (in addition to the motor block 2). Should
the foodstuff not be completely chopped, you can either cut it into smaller
pieces or lift the motor unit 2from the lid 3. Shake the bowl 7vigor-
ously and then continue with the processing.
10) When the contents have been sufficiently chopped, release the motor unit 2
and, if necessary, the turbo button 1.
11) Remove the power plug from the mains power socket.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
► Never attempt to remove foodstuffs from the bowl 7as long as the
blade 6is still rotating. Contents could shoot out and make a mess.
12) Wait until the blade 6has stopped rotating.
13) Lift the motor unit 2from the lid 3and remove it.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
► To prevent injuries, exercise caution when handling the extremely sharp
blade 6. Keep the blade 6out of the reach of children.

14) Carefully pull the blade holder with the blade 6out of the bowl 7.
15) Remove the contents.
NOTICE
► Due to the grinding of hard and abrasive foodstuffs, the bowl 7can take
on a dull appearance over time. This is normal and does not influence the
functioning of the appliance.
NOTICE
► You can use the appliance base 8, after the processing of the foods has
been completed, as a lid for the bowl 7, to help keep the food fresh for
longer.
► Take the motor unit 2and lid 3off of the bowl 7.
► The blade holder 5with the blade 6can, if you wish, remain in the
bowl 7.
► Disconnect the appliance base 8from the underside of the bowl 7. You
can now place the appliance base 8on the bowl 7and press it in the
middle so that it closes the bowl 7.
Cleaning and care
DANGER - RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
► Before cleaning, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power socket!
There is the risk of receiving an electric shock!
► Do not open any part of the housing. There are no user-serviceable elements
inside. An open housing can create the risk of a lethal electrical shock.
NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids! This would
increase the risk of a potentially fatal electric shock should liquids
come into contact with power carrying components.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
► To prevent injuries, exercise caution when handling the extremely sharp
blade 6. Reassemble the Universal Food Processor after using and/or
cleaning it so that you do not injure yourself on the exposed blade 6.
Keep the blade 6out of the reach of children.
