BeforeyouswitchontheSH90
BeforeyoupoweruptheSH90,makesurethatyouhavesufcientwaterdepthtolower
thetransducer!
WhentheSH90isnotused
ToprotecttheSH90whenitisnotinuse,westronglyadviceyoutohoistthetransducer,
eventhoughyoumaynotswitchoffthepower.Innarroworshallowwatersthisisvery
important,sinceyoumay-inworstcase-runthetransducerintothebottom.Thiswill
damagethetransducerandthetransducershaft,andextensiverepairisrequired.
Whenyouaredockingyourvessel
ItisveryimportantthattheSH90systemremainsswitchedoff
whenthevesselisindry
dock.Ifthetransducerisactivatedwhenoutofwateritmaybedamagedbeyondrepair.
Asasafeguardingmeasure,werecommendthatyouremovethepowerfusesonthe
SH90systembeforethevesselisdocked.Asanextrasafetymeasure,theSH90isby
defaultpoweredupwiththetransmitpowerswitchedoff.

Transducerhandling
Note
Alltransducersmustbehandledasdelicateitems.Anywrongfulhandlingmaydamage
thetransducerbeyondrepair.
Donotactivatethetransducerwhenitisoutofthewater .
Donothandlethetransducerroughly,avoidimpacts.
Donotexposethetransducertodirectsunlightorexcessiveheat.
Donotusehighpressurewater ,sandblastingormetaltoolstocleanthetransducerface.
Donotusestrongsolventstocleanthetransducerface.
Systemdescription
TheSimradSH90isanomnidirectionalhighfrequencysonar.
Itisdesignedforallsizedshingvessels,bothpurseseinersandtrawlers.
Theoperationalfrequencyis114kHz.Thecylindricalmulti-elementtransducerallows
theomnidirectionalsonarbeamtobetiltedelectronicallyfrom+10to–60degrees.
Thisallowsyoutoautomaticallytrackschoolsofsh,andtoobservethewholewater
volumearoundthevessel.Astabilisingsystemisincludedforelectronicpitchand
rollcompensation.
Greatemphasishasbeenplacedongivingthebestpossiblesonarpresentationsona
highresolutioncolourdisplay.
TheSH90ProcessorUnitiscontrolledbyMicrosoft’sWindows®operatingsystem,
whichresultinaexiblechoiceofpresentationmodesforalargerangeofuser
applications.Thesignalprocessingandbeamformingisperformedinafastdigital
