Introduction
Certified with NHTSA 2013 BAIID Model Specification.
Prevent driver with blood alcohol concentration exceeding the set limit value to drive vehicle.
Fuel cell sensor (electrochemical sensor) for high accuracy.
LED indication for test result, message or condition, printing all indications on the back of product.
Option for camera to record driver photo, tested time, and BAC level.
Important Notes
Before testing, wait at least 15 minutes after eating or drinking.
Do not turn off vehicle during retest! Wait until test result is displayed before turning off vehicle.
The vehicle will be locked out permanently if service warning days expires.
If using below 40°F, device needs to wait for 60 second countdown before taking a test.
Do not disconnect the handheld device at any time.
Do not open the device and break the tamperproof sticker. If tamperproof sticker is broken a tamper violation will be
reported to the appropriate authorities.
Limit of breath alcohol concentration
Red flashing light (Blocking state): Above alcohol limit, short lockout active.
Red solid light (Blocking State): Above alcohol limit, long lockout active.
Green solid light (Unblocking state): Below alcohol limit.
Service Interval
60 days for service interval.
7 days for regular service warning, and then permanent lockout after warning days.
3 days for service warning Early Recall, and then permanent lockout after 3 warning days.

Description of parts
Operation
Gently insert the mouthpiece into the blowing tube.
Turn the key of vehicle to ON position.
To power on, press and hold the TEST button until power on then release once device is on.
Wait for countdown 08…..05, 04, and 03… to 00.

Breath test:
- When display reaches 00, wait for audible beep then blow.
- LCD displays flashing “C-C-C” when it is ready for breathing test.
- Take a deep breath, blow moderately hard and consistently for approximately 3 seconds until hearing an audible
click.
Breath sample failure: Will show error message if breath sample is done incorrectly. Refer to the below table for error
details. The device will power off automatically after indicating error message.

Breath sample accepted: The test result will be displayed on the screen for 20 seconds. The top LED will indicate green
or red light for test result pass or fail.
Block or unblock: The handheld tester indicates green or red light for blocking or unblocking state.
- Unblocking state: Green solid light, the breath alcohol concentration below limit value, the vehicle can be started.
- Blocking state: Red solid light or red flashing light, the breath alcohol concentration above limit value, the vehicle
can't be started, and the device temporarily locks out vehicle. Wait until the red light turns off to retest. If retest fails
again, the duration of lock out time will be extended.
Button description
Test:
- Press this button to start the operation of test.
- Test the breathing alcohol concentration before starting vehicle.
Left small button: No function.
Right small button: For override use. Call the Service Center at 888-260-3368.

LED indications and description (Printed on the back of handset)
1. Green flashing: Waiting for breath test, standby mode.
2. Green solid: Unblocking stage, allow starting vehicle.
3. Yellow flashing: Service required stage (permanent lockout after service warning days).
4. Yellow solid: Permanently lock out vehicle.
5. Red flashing: Short blocking stage, wait 5 minutes for retest.
6. Red solid: Longer time blocking stage, wait 30 minutes for retest.
7. Green flashing & Red flashing: Retest requested. (Do not turn off vehicle in this stage).
8. Yellow solid & Green flashing: Override mode after entering code (still needs breath test).
9. Yellow solid & Green solid: Override mode with unblocking stage after breath test.
10. Yellow solid & Red solid: Override mode expired permanent lockout.
Specific instructions
Random Retest: Breath test after the vehicle motor has been started.
- The green and red lights of handheld device will flash together and beep indicating test required.
- The driver must carry out this test within 6 minutes.
- The device will beep every 60 seconds to remind driver to take the test.
- Driver must pull over to a safe location to take random retest.
Free restart: When engine stops, the device permits the engine to be restarted without the requirement to provide
another breath sample. The device is setup for free restart for up to 3 minutes.
Do not disconnect the handheld tester. Violation event will be recorded in memory.
Bypass detection: Starting the vehicle without a test or without engaging the override function. Violation.
Tampering detection: Unauthorized changes or interference with the alcohol interlock or its installation in the vehicle or
its functioning will be recorded in memory as a violation and will be reported to the authorities.

Permanent Lockout
The yellow solid light indicates the device is in the permanent lockout mode.
The vehicle will go in to a permanent lock out mode if the diver goes beyond the service warning time limit. There is a
warning sound to remind driver when turning on the ignition. There is a beeping sound according to the remaining days
until service lockout.
Alarm sounds with time remaining to lockout, sounding a long Beep when turning on the key, then short Beeps for the
number of days until lockout, and will finish with one long beep. This will repeat 3 times.
For example:
- 1 day to lockout: long Beep for 2 seconds ------ short Beep 1 time --- short Beep 1 time --- short Beep 1 time ----
long Beep for 2 seconds.
- 3 days to lockout: long Beep for 2 seconds ------ short Beep 3 times --- short Beep 3 times --- short Beep 3 times
---- long Beep for 2 seconds.
