Manual for decalcifying the system
Depending on the degree of the hardness of the water in your region, over time lime
deposits will build up in the bottom and on the inner walls of the external water tank. The
harder the water, the sooner lime desposits will form.
It is important to decalcify the smardy - pure water reverse osmosis system- at least every
12 months. Please read this manual carefully, before you decalcify the system and
subsequently put it back into operation.

DESCALING
1. Emptying the system and the internal water tank
Remove the water tank from the system and
Empty the remaining water.
Press and hold the MODE key and the
water outlet key simultaneously for 3 seconds.
As soon as the total water (approx. 1 liter) has flown
out of the device, please press the water outlet key
once. The internal tank is now empty.
2. Replacement of filter 1 and 2 via filter sleeves (in scope of supply) - filter 3 remains in the system

ATTENTION! Causes severe eye irritation. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Wear eye protection. IN
CASE OF CONTACT WITH THE EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact
lenses, if present and easy to do. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand.
Keep out of the reach of children.
4. Descaling process
Now connect the system to the power grid.
ATTENTION! –Use the included power supply cable and do not operate the system with other standard
connection cables. Never connect or disconnect the power plug with wet hands
Wait until the unit switches off and subsequently let the unit rest for approx. 30 minutes.
Press the water button to start the water outlet and draw
approx. 0,5 Liter water. Wait until the unit switches off and

Fill 4 litres of prepared descaler* (* 25 grams per liter of
water with a maximum of 80 ° Celsius) completely into the
tank.

5. Emtying the system and the internal water tank
Remove the water tank from the machine and empty the
remaining disinfecting solution.
Press and hold the MODE key and the
water outlet key simultaneously for 3 seconds.

After the descaling process it is necessary to rinse the system with cold tap water. For this purpose
please let 3 - 4 full water tanks flow through the system.

6. Filter change (Filter 1 / Filter 2 / Filter 3)
8. Reset filter indicator - Reset
After the filter change it is necessary to reset the filter indicator with the aid of the reset buttons (see
picture). Press and hold button ①②for 5 seconds, to reset filter 1 and 2, press and hold button ③for 5
seconds, to reset filter 3.
After filter change it is necessary to rinse the system with cold tap water. For this purpose please let 3 - 4
full water tanks flow through the system.

Safety instructions
On completion of the descaling operation it is advisable to rinse the filter sleeves repeatedly with cold
tap water, let dry and store securely for the recurring descaling process. Repeat the described procedure
periodically (at least every 12 months)
8. Descaling of the external water tank
Depending on the degree of water hardness in your regio, over time there will be
calcifications in the bottom and on the inner walls of the external water tank.
The harder the water, the faster the formation of calcifications.
It is important to descale the external water tank of the smardy - pure water
reverse osmosis system at least every 3 months but not more often than six times
a year.
Descaling process
1. Remove the water tank from the device.
2. In a measuring cup mix 50 grams of smardy special decalcifier with 1 liter warm water
(approx. 50 degrees). Stir the liquid, until the powder is completely dissolved.
3. Fill the water container with the descaling mixture up to the mark MAX.
4. Leave the mixture in the tank for approx. 1 hour.
5. Empty the water tank and rinse out several times with clear water.
6. Reinsert the cleaned water tank into the device
