ABOUT SFX
For reliable, uninterrupted and long-distance DVI-D KVM
extension, the FDX-Mini provides the best solution with its
ber optic extension capabilities. Users can bridge large
gaps that they ordinarily could not with this compact device.
The FDX-Mini includes the transmitter and receiver, for
complete point-to-point signal extension, with no need for
any other hardware or software.
Using FDX-Mini technology, this ber DVI extender is
capable of sending a DVI-D signal up to 1,400 feet (426.7
meters) over a conventional and inexpensive multimode
ber cable. Supported resolutions up to 1920x1200x60Hz.
As with all DVI-D and USB connections, the signals are
transmitted via the extender.
The FDX-Mini also has USB keyboard, mouse, and RS-232
support, giving you the ability to control your displays or
devices remotely.

1. Turn off all devices.
2. Connect a multimode ber optic cable between the FDX-MINI-TX and FDX-MINI-RX (maximum cable length is 1,400 ft.).
3. Connect the DVI-D cable, RS-232 cable (optional), and USB cable from the computer to their appropriate ports on the
FDX-MINI-TX .
4. Power on the computer and connect the provided 5VDC power supply to the FDX-MINI-TX.
5. Connect a USB keyboard and Mouse to the USB ports on the FDX-MINI-RX.
NOTE: Only a keyboard and a mouse may be connected to these ports. Connecting other devices to these USB ports may
cause damage to the unit.
6. Optionally connect an RS-232 control-enabled device to the DB9 connector on the FDX-MINI-RX.
7. Connect the monitor or display to the DVI-D out of the FDX-MINI-RX and power on the monitor only.
8. Connect the supplied 5VDC power supply to the FDX-MINI-RX.
NOTE: The FDX-MINI is HDMI compatible. (With DVI to HDMI Adapters)
