Introduction
The KLX-500-DUO extender provides 500 feet of
connectivity using CAT 5/5e/6 cables used in LAN
infrastructure to extend KVM (Keyboard, Video and
Mouse) operation of 2 computers DVI input. Chain
additional extenders to extend signals even further
and transmit crystal clear audio-video signals in
realtime. The KLX-500-DUO is an ideal t in pre-existing
LAN infrastructures, like corporate oce environments
and data centers. The KLX- 500-DUO supports
full USB emulation and 1080p HD video up to
1920x1080 resolution at 60Hz. The KLX-500-DUO
features dual control operation for local and remote
KVM support, so managing workow is never more
than a mouse-click away. Built with plug-and- play
functionality, setting up and running KLX-500-DUO is
simple and seamless. No drivers or software installations
required. The KLX-500-DUO compresses data to
utilize CAT 5/5e/6 cables at no loss to performance
or picture quality. For the best visual and control results
when going the distance, KLX-500-DUO has your
KVM and HD video needs covered.

Connecting the KLX-500-DUO
1. Power o all devices prior to connecting them.
2. Connect the KLX-500-DUO-TX transmitter to the computers with 2 USB Type A to Type B cables.
3. Connect the computers DVI outputs to the KLX-500-DUO-TX DVI inputs. See Note below if VGA output is required.
4. Optionally connect the computers audio and microphone jacks to the KLX-500-DUO-TX.
5. If you want local access you may optionally connect DVI monitors to the DVI outputs on the KLX-500-DUO-TX and
USB keyboards and mice to the KLX-500-DUO-TX USB ports marked for keyboard and mouse
6. Connect a CAT 5/5e/6 cable to the KLX-500-DUO-TX.
7. Connect a CAT 5/5e/6 cable to the KLX-500-DUO-RX.
8. Connect DVI monitors to the DVI outputs on the KLX-500-DUO-RX.
9. Connect USB keyboards and mice to the KLX-500-DUO-RX USB ports marked for keyboard and mouse.
10. Optionally connect speakers and microphones to the KLX-500-DUO-RX
11. Power on all devices.
12. Press and release the SW buttons on the KLX500-DUO-RX to learn EDIDs from the connected monitors. The Link LEDs will go
out and come back on ashing once the EDIDs are learned.
NOTE: You can connect a computers VGA output port using a VGA to DVI-I Adapter on the TX DVI input port. The RX DVI
output port is compatible with VGA. The TX DVI output port is not compatible with VGA.
