OVERVIEW
The Barricade™ Broadband Router (SMCBR21VPN) is an ideal networking solution for the SMB. This multi-
function router combines load balancing WAN ports, a DMZ port and a 10/100 LAN port. It has a built in
robust Stateful Inspection firewall to protect your network from the edge. The Barricade supports protocols
such as TCP/IP, while also providing support for VPN connections with PPTP and IPSec. SMCBR21VPN’s
Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall provides a high level of security against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
It also provides flexible Access Control to allow greater flexibility in protecting your network. Having built in
multiple WAN ports enables load balancing based on different parameters or redundant internet connections
to protect against business critical internet downtime.
The new Broadband Router has built-in Virtual Private Network (VPN) support, which is an ideal solution
for securely accessing a remote corporate network by establishing an authenticated and encrypted tunnel
over the Internet. Whether used by travelers and telecommuters to remotely log into a corporate LAN, or to
establish a secure VPN between remote offices, you can be well assured that your data is being transmitted
and exchanged in the most secure manner.
