SMC7003ADSL
Model Number::
EZ ConnectTM
2-Port ADSL Bridge Router
• Plug-and-play installation for instant
connectivity
• Firewall technology protects the
internal networks
• Virtual Private Networks with PPTP and
L2TP clients
• Remote management and firmware
upgrade
• ADSL technology brings instant
voice,data,and video access to your
PC up to 150 times faster than a 56k
modem
• Functions as a Bridge,Router,and
Home Gateway
• Ethernet and USB ports provide
greater flexibility for simultaneous
sharing of the ADSL and local resources
Broadband
Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line
(ADSL) broadband WAN technology is
ideal for residential or SOHO environ-
ments. Data and voice transmissions
can be made simultaneously. Data is
transmitted at 8 Mbps over distances
up to 18,000 feet (more than 3 miles.)
The new SMC7003ADSL dual-port
bridge router brings instant voice,data,
and video access to your desktop up to
150 times faster than a 56k modem.
This router provides unsurpassed asym-
metric high-speed data transmission
over a single copper pair, linking busi-
ness and home offices and individual
subscribers to their network service
providers.
This SMC7003ADSL is a full router and
bridge that scales as the network
expands. The flexibility derived from
Ethernet and USB ports enables simul-
taneous sharing of the ADSL line and
local resources. This flexibility allows
multiple PCs to share office resources,
access the Internet simultaneously,and
keep network users connected at all
times. The SMC7003ADSL also func-
tions as a home gateway which enables
simultaneous Internet access for up to
253 users with one IP address. The
modem also supports both full-rate
DMT connection (with 8 Mbps down-
stream and 640 Kbps upstream), and
the more economical G.lite connection
(with 1.5 Mbps downstream and 512
Kbps upstream).
Incorporated firewall technology pro-
tects internal networks from outside
intruders and hackers. Plug-and-play
installation allows instant connection.
Remote management capabilities and
firmware upgrades provide increased
convenience and protection of your
investment as your networking needs
evolve.
With this new ADSL bridge router,
investments are protected through the
support of popular xDSL connection
models, including PPP over Ethernet,
PPP over ATM,bridging and routing.
