SMC’s TigerSwitch™100M, an 8-port Fast Ethernet switch, features an innovative design wherein all ports are distributed among two 4-port, slide-in
replaceable modules. Each module contains different combinations of 100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX ports. This variable port arrangement provides
flexibility in network planning and design.
Perhaps, you want to take advantage of the benefits associated with mixing different media types. Maybe you require ports with connectors for mostly one
media type, but still need a few ports with another type (e.g., 100BASE-TX ports for server farm aggregation and a 100BASE-FX port for a long-distance,
building-to-building connection). With the TigerSwitch 100M, it’s just a matter of selecting the modules that best suit your needs.
And, the TigerSwitch 100M helps keep the cost of ownership down because it is flexible enough to accommodate changes in your network, thereby

boasts 1.6 Gbps of internal band-width, is potent enough to stand alone as a departmental collapsed backbone. For larger LANs, TigerSwitch 100M units can
also be cascaded to create a high-speed backbone.
