Maintenance
Prior to any maintenance operation ensure that the cooker hood is
disconnected from the electrical outlet.
Metal grease filter
(2 or 3 pieces)
The metal grease filter lasts forever and must be washed either by
hand or in the dishwasher (65°C) with suitable detergents.
When washed in a dish washer, the grease filter may discolour
slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity.
Modelwithsliderswitchespanel
The metal grease filters must be washed at least once a month.
Modelwithelectroniccontrolpanel
The metal grease filters must be washed at least once a month and
anyhow whenever the LED 4 indicates the saturation of the filter
(see page 10).
This LED warns you when the metal grease filter needs to be
cleaned.
This LED flashes to warn you that the metal grease filters must be
cleaned.
Generally, these must be cleaned after 40 hours of use.
Oncethegreasefiltershave beencleaned,pressbutton1(see page
10) for about3 seconds until you hear the acoustic signal (beep): the
LED 4 (see page 10) will now stop flashing.
Removethe metalgrease filterusingthehandlesdesignedforthis
purposeby pulling thefilterbackwards and thendownwards(Fig. 1).
Let the metal grease filter dry without damaging it before putting it
back into place.
Carry out the above steps in reverse order to put the metal grease
filters back after having washed them.
Active carbon filter (2 pieces)
This filter dissolves cooking odours.
The active carbon filter must never be washed.
Modelwithsliderswitchespanel
Theactive carbonfilter shouldbe changedevery4monthsinnormal
use.
Modelwithelectroniccontrolpanel
The active carbon filter should be replaced every 4 months under
normal use and anyhow whenever LED 5 indicates the saturation
of the filter (see page 10).
This LED indicates active carbon filters need to be replaced.
This led flashes to warn you that the active carbon filter must be
replaced.
This must be done after approximately 160 hours of use.
Once you have replaced the carbon filter, press button 1 (see page
10) for about 3 seconds until you hear the acoustic signal (beep).
The LED 5 (see page 10) will now stop flashing.
Mountingandreplacingtheactivecarbonfilter:
a) Disconnect the hood from the electricity.
b) Remove the metal grease filters (Fig. 1).
c) If the active carbon filters have not been installed, place one
active carbon filter on each side so that they cover the grates
protecting the rotor on the motor. Then turn the center handle
for the active carbon filters in the clockwise direction (Fig. 2).
d) Iftheactivecarbonfiltershavealreadybeeninstalled(covering
the grates protecting the rotor on the motor) and must be
replaced, turn the central handle in the counter-clockwise
direction until the active carbon filters are unlocked.
e) Refit the the metal grease filters.
Replacing lightbulbs
a) Disconnect the hood from the electricity.
b) Open the lamp compartment, proceeding according to the
model in your possession:
unscrew the lamp cover (fig. 3.1)
or
extract the cover by levering it off with a small screwdriver or
similar tool (fig. 3.2)
or
Press on the lamp cover and release to open the cover (fig.
3.3).
c) Replacethedamagedlampwithanewhalogenlampof20Watt
max.
d) Refit the the metal grease filters and the light shield.
e) Before calling for repair service because the hood fails to light
up, make sure the bulbs are screwed in tightly.
Caution
Thisappliance isdesignedto beoperatedby adults.Childrenshould
notbe allowed totamperwith the controlsorplay with theappliance.
Donotusethe cookerhood wherethe grillis notcorrectly fixed! The
suctioned air must not be conveyed in the same channel used for
fumes discharged by appliances powered by other than electricity.
The environment must always be adequately aerated when the
cooker hood and other appliances powered by other than electricity
are used at the same time. Flambé cooking with a cooker hood is
prohibited.Theuseofafreeflame isdamaging tothefiltersandmay
cause fire accidents, therefore free flame cooking must be avoided.
Frying of foods must be kept under close control in order to avoid
overheated oil catching fire. Carry out fumes discharging in
accordance with the regulations in force by local laws for safety and
technical restrictions.
