Features
The CBK-WA100/CBK-WA101 Wireless Adapter is the
wireless adapter for connecting the PMW-500/400/300/
200/160/150 Solid-State Memory Camcorder (called
“camcorder” in this document) or PMW-50 Portable
Memory Recorder (called “recorder” in this document)
to a computer or mobile device via a wireless LAN, or
connecting to the 3G/4G/LTE line and sending files via
the Internet.
Notes
• The USB Wireless LAN Module (sold separately)
may not be available in some countries/regions.
• To use the 3G/4G/LTE services, you need to contract
with a cell phone company.
• The frequency band for the USB Wireless LAN
Module (sold separately) is shared by various devices.
Depending on the use environment, transmission
speed and distance may be decreased, or
communication may be disconnected, by using other
devices.
Remote operation of the camcorder/recorder
via a wireless LAN
You can operate a camera or media of a camcorder/
recorder remotely from a smartphone/tablet/computer
that is connected to the wireless adapter via a wireless
LAN.
Creating and recording a proxy file
The wireless adapter creates a proxy file (low
resolution) and records it on an SD card that is inserted
into the wireless adapter, from the video and audio
signals that are shot or played on the camcorder/recorder
and are input from the HD-SDI connector. The created
file is called “XAVC®Proxy.”
Recording starts/stops automatically by interlocking to
the camcorder/recorder with the Rec/Stop control
signals that are included on the HD-SDI signals.
Uploading a file via a wireless LAN or 3G/4G/
LTE line
You can upload a proxy file (low resolution) that is
recorded on an SD card or original file (high resolution)
that is recorded on the camcorder/recorder, to a server on
the Internet via the wireless LAN or 3G/4G/LTE line.
Monitoring the video of a camcorder/recorder
via a wireless LAN
The wireless adapter can create a stream (H.264) from
the video of a camcorder/recorder. You can monitor the
video stream by using the “Content Browser Mobile”
application that is installed on the smartphone/tablet/
computer via wireless LAN.
“Content Browser Mobile” application*
You can operate a camcorder/recorder remotely by
monitoring the audio/video of the camcorder/recorder,
and perform the settings of the wireless adapter from a
smartphone/tablet using the “Content Browser Mobile”
application.
* For details about the “Content Browser Mobile” application,
contact your Sony dealer or a Sony service representative.
Streaming the video/audio of a camcorder/
recorder via a 3G/4G/LTE line, wireless LAN, or
wired LAN
The wireless adapter can create a stream (H.264/AAC-
LC compression) from the video/audio of a camcorder/
recorder. You can watch the video/audio streaming via a
3G/4G/LTE line, wireless LAN, or wired LAN.
Note
If you start streaming, proxy recording and file
transferring cannot be performed.

Compatible models
The following camcorders/recorders are compatible
with the wireless adapter*, and you can use the wireless
adapter by attaching to them.
• Solid-State Memory Camcorder
PMW-500, PMW-400, PMW-300, PMW-200, PMW-
160, PMW-150
• Portable Memory Recorder
PMW-50, PMW-RX50
• Professional Disc Camcorder
PDW-850, PDW-750
* The CBK-WA101 is for the PMW-400 only.
The camcorders/recorders will be compatible with the
wireless adapter by updating the firmware to one of the
following versions.
PMW-500: Ver.1.6 or later
PMW-400: Ver.1.1 or later
PMW-300: Ver.1.1 or later
PMW-200: Ver.1.3 or later
PMW-160: Ver.1.2 or later
PMW-150: Ver.1.2 or later
PMW-50: Ver.1.2 or later
PMW-RX50: Ver.1.0 or later
PDW-850: Ver.2.2 or later
PDW-750: Ver.2.2 or later
The following functions are available for compatible
models.
• Displaying the wireless adapter’s status on the
viewfinder of the camcorder
• Creating a proxy file that inherits the information and
size from an original file that is recorded on the
camcorder/recorder when the camcorder/recorder is
recording.
• Creating a proxy file when the recorder is playing the
original file. (PMW-50/RX50, PDW-850/750 only)
When using a device that is not
compatible with the wireless adapter
You can use a device that has the SDI output. In this
case, the following functions are available.
• Streaming a video/audio of the camcorder/recorder
via the wireless LAN
• Creating a proxy file from the original file that is
recorded on the camcorder/recorder when the
camcorder/recorder is recording.*
• Uploading a file via a wireless LAN or 3G/4G/LTE
line (only for the proxy file that is recorded on an SD
card in the wireless adapter)
* When the Rec/Stop control signals is included on the SDI
signals, recording starts/stops automatically by interlocking
to the camcorder/recorder. The proxy file does not inherit
the information and size from the original file.
Required device to use the function

Compatible terminal devices
For setting and operating the wireless adapter, use a
smartphone, tablet, or computer (called “terminal
device” in this document). Compatible terminal devices,

AUSB connector (type A)
Connect the optional wireless LAN module or
optional modem. Remove the cover to make the
connection.
BSD card slot
Insert an optional SD card. Remove the cover to
insert the card.
CCAM connector (USB mini type B)
Connect to a camcorder/recorder with the supplied
USB cable. Remove the cover to make the
connection.
DSDI IN connector (BNC type) (CBK-WA100
only)
Connect to a camcorder/recorder with the supplied
BNC cable. This connector inputs the SDI signals

FWPS button
Use for the WPS function.
You can set the connecting device and access point
semi automatically by using the WPS (Wi-Fi
Protected Setup) function.
GWIRELESS (wireless LAN mode setting) switch
Sets the wireless LAN mode of the wireless
adapter.
“AP”: AP mode (Access point mode) (page 9)
“ST”: STA mode (Station mode) (page 10)
HST indicator
Lights in blue when the wireless adapter is in the
STA mode. (Turns off when the wireless adapter is
in the AP mode.)
Flashes in blue while the WPS function is running.
IREC indicator
Lights in red while recording on an SD card.
JSTATUS indicator
Indicates the status of the wireless adapter.
KRESET button
Returns the wireless adapter to the factory setting.
LPower switch
To turn the wireless adapter on, set to “@.” To turn
the wireless adapter off, set to “1.”
MPower indicator
Lights up in light green when the wireless adapter
is turned on.

Setting the camcorder to output the
Rec/Stop control signals
Perform the setting of the camcorder so that it outputs
Rec/Stop control signals to the wireless adapter.
Select one of the following settings in “SDI Rec
Control” of the “Video Set” menu.
• HD SDI Remote I/F
Outputs the common Rec/Stop control signals for a
Sony camcorder. A proxy video is recorded on an SD
card in the wireless adapter by interlocking with the
main recording.
This can be used when no media is inserted into the
camcorder.
When the SDI signal is SD, Rec/Stop control signals
are not output.
• Parallel Rec
Outputs the signals that allow recording a proxy video
on an SD card in the wireless adapter by interlocking
with the main recording (only for a camcorder that is
compatible with the Parallel Rec function).
This can be used only when media is inserted into the
camcorder.
When “Match Clip Name” in the “Video Set” menu is
set to “On,” the recorded proxy file name on the
wireless adapter is interlocked with the main
recording file name.
For PDW-750/850
• If “MAINTENANCE” > “CAM CONFIG 1” > “SDI
REC CONTROL” is set to “RM,” a proxy video is
recorded on an SD card in the wireless adapter by
interlocking with the main recording. If
“MAINTENANCE” > “CAM CONFIG 1” > “SDI
REC CONTROL” is set to “PARA,” the recorded
proxy file inherits the information and size from the
original file that is recorded on the camcorder.
• If “MAINTENANCE” > “CAM CONFIG 1” >
“MATCH CLIP NAME” is set to “ON,” the recorded
proxy file name on the wireless adapter is interlocked
with the main recording file name.
Enabling the wireless LAN function
of the camcorder/recorder
Control the camcorder/recorder from a smartphone or
tablet by enabling the wireless LAN function on the
camcorder/recorder.
Perform the following settings in “Wi-Fi” of the
“Others” menu.
• Wi-Fi: Enable
• Wi-Fi Remote: On
For PDW-750/850
Set “MAINTENANCE” > “CAM CONFIG 3” > “Wi-
Fi” > “ETHER_RM.”
• “RM”: Only remote control operation is available (the
original file cannot be transferred).
• “ALL”: Remote control operation and original file
transferring are available.
Note
When the USB cable is connected to the USB connector,
the “Wi-Fi” settings cannot be changed. Set the “Wi-Fi”
settings while the USB cable is disconnected.
Enabling the USB A connector of
the camcorder (PMW-300 only)
You need to change the USB A connector setting when
using the wireless adapter with the PMW-300.
Select “USB A” in “RM/USB A Sel” of the “Others”
menu.

The wireless adapter is used by attaching it to the
camcorder/recorder and connecting the supplied DC
power cable*.
Connect the supplied USB cable and BNC cable*
according to the function that you use (page 4).
For details about attaching to the camcorder/recorder
and connecting cables, refer to the supplied “Installation
Manual.”
* The DC power cable and BNC cable do not need to be
connected for the CBK-WA101.
Turning on the Power
1 Make sure that the wireless adapter is attached to
the camcorder/recorder correctly.
For details about attaching to the camcorder/
recorder, refer to the supplied “Installation
Manual.”
2 Turn the wireless adapter on by setting the power
switch to “@.”
The power indicator lights in light green.
The wireless adapter starts up with the same
settings from the last time it was turned off. Then,
the STATUS indicator light in light green.
Note
When connecting to the camcorder/recorder with the
USB cable, turn the wireless adapter on after the
camcorder/recorder is turned off.
About start-up settings
The wireless adapter starts up in the wireless LAN mode
according the WIRELESS switch setting.
When the WIRELESS switch is set to “AP”
The wireless adapter starts up in the AP mode (page 9).
When the WIRELESS switch is set to “ST”
The wireless adapter starts up in the STA mode
(page 10). The wireless adapter starts to connect to the
access point that the wireless adapter connects last.

Connect the wireless adapter and the terminal device via
the wireless LAN.
Connecting in the wireless LAN
access point mode (AP mode)
The wireless adapter works as the access point. Connect
the terminal device to the wireless adapter via the
wireless LAN.
To connect a wireless LAN module to the
wireless adapter
Remove the cover of the USB connector, then connect
the optional wireless LAN module to the USB
connector.
For details of connecting, refer to the supplied
“Installation Manual.”
For compatible wireless LAN modules, contact your
Sony dealer or a Sony service representative.
Notes
• Do not connect or disconnect a wireless LAN module
while the wireless adapter is turned on.
• If a wireless LAN module that is not compatible with
the wireless adapter is connected, the STATUS
indicator flashes in red quickly. In this case, connect a
compatible wireless LAN module.
To connect
1 Set the WIRELESS switch to “AP,” then turn the
wireless adapter on.
The wireless adapter starts up in the AP mode.
2 If the terminal device is compatible with the WPS
function:
Press the WPS button for 3 seconds.
The ST indicator flashes in blue.
Note
It takes some time for the ST indicator to flash after
the wireless adapter is turned on.
Perform the following steps within 2 minutes after
pressing the WPS button.
If the terminal device is not compatible with the
WPS function:
Proceed to the next step.
3 Set “Network setting” > “Wireless LAN setting” of
the terminal device to on.
For the wireless LAN setting of the terminal device,
refer to its operating instructions.
4 If the terminal device is compatible with the WPS
function:
Select the wireless adapter’s SSID
“DIRECT_taP0:WA100-012345” from the SSID
list, then select “WPS Push Button” from the
options.
If the terminal device is not compatible with the
WPS function:
Select the wireless adapter’s SSID
“DIRECT_taP0:WA100-012345” from the SSID
list, then input “abcdefgh” for the password.
Note
The SSID and password of the wireless adapter are
printed on the label of the wireless adapter. The
password can be changed in “AP Settings”
(page 27).
5 Start up the browser on the terminal device, then
access http://192.168.1.1:8080/index.html.
The screen for inputting the user name and
password appears on the browser.

6 Input the user name and password, then touch
“OK.”
“User Name”: “admin” (default setting)
“Password”: “cbk-wa100” (default setting for the
CBK-WA100) or “cbk-wa101” (default setting for
the CBK-WA101)
The Web menu of the wireless adapter appears on
the browser. For details, see “About the Web Menu”
(page 21).
Note
You can change the user name and password
(page 25).
Connecting in the wireless LAN
station mode (STA mode)
The wireless adapter connects to the access point as a
client. Connect the wireless adapter and terminal device
via the access point.
To connect a wireless LAN module to the
wireless adapter
Remove the cover of the USB connector, then connect
the optional wireless LAN module to the USB
connector.
For details of connecting, refer to the supplied
“Installation Manual.”
For compatible wireless LAN modules, contact your
Sony dealer or a Sony service representative.
Notes
• Do not connect or disconnect a wireless LAN module
while the wireless adapter is turned on.
• If a wireless LAN module that is not compatible with
the wireless adapter is connected, the STATUS
indicator flashes in red quickly. In this case, connect a
compatible wireless LAN module.
Connecting to the access point with the
WPS function
If the access point is compatible with the WPS function,
you can connect to the access point with the simple
settings. If the access point is not compatible with the
WPS function, see “To connect to the access point in the
STA mode without the WPS function” (page 28).
1 Turn the access point on.
2 Set the WIRELESS switch to “ST,” then turn the
wireless adapter on.
The wireless adapter starts up in the STA mode.
3 Press the WPS button of the wireless adapter for 3
seconds.
The ST indicator flashes in blue.
Note
It takes some time for the ST indicator to flash after
the wireless adapter is turned on.
Perform the following steps within 2 minutes after
pressing the WPS button.
4 Press the WPS button of the access point.
For the operation of the WPS button, refer to the
operating instructions of the access point.
When the connection is completed, the ST indicator
lights in blue and the STATUS indicator lights in
light green.
Note
If the connection fails, the ST indicator turns off. In
this case, perform steps from the step 1.
5 Connect the terminal device to the access point.
For connecting, refer to the operating instructions
of the terminal device.
6 Start up the browser on the terminal device, then
access to the wireless adapter.

• http://<IP address that the access point assigns to
the wireless adapter>:8080/index.html
You can check the assigned IP address on the
webpage of the access point. For details, refer to
the operating instructions of the access point.
• http://WA100-<serial number of the wireless
adapter>:8080/index.html
“WA100-<serial number of the wireless
adapter>” can be changed as the host name
(page 25).
The screen for inputting the user name and
password appears on the browser.
7 Input the user name and password, then touch
“OK.”
“User Name”: “admin” (default setting)
“Password”: “cbk-wa100” (default setting for the
CBK-WA100) or “cbk-wa101” (default setting for
the CBK-WA101)
The Web menu of the wireless adapter appears on
the browser. For details, see “About the Web Menu”
(page 21).
Note
You can change the user name and password
(page 25).
Using the “Content Browser Mobile”
application
You can access the wireless adapter from the terminal
device simply, without inputting the IP address.
Checking the status of the wireless
LAN settings
You can check the status of the wireless LAN settings on
the “Status” screen (page 28).
The displayed items differ depending on the wireless
LAN mode of the wireless adapter (AP or STA mode).
Connecting to the
Internet
You can connect the wireless adapter to the Internet by
using an optional modem, or via an optional 3G/4G/LTE
access point.
Connecting to the Internet by using
a modem
You can connect the wireless adapter to the Internet via
the 3G/4G/LTE line by connecting the optional modem
to the wireless adapter.
To connect the modem to the wireless
adapter
Remove the cover of the USB connector on the right,
then connect the optional modem to the USB connector.
For details of connecting, refer to the supplied
“Installation Manual.”
When connecting the modem that is compatible with the
wireless adapter, the connection settings are made
automatically, and the wireless adapter is ready for
connecting to the Internet.
For compatible modems, contact your Sony dealer or a
Sony service representative.

The information of the modem appears on the “Modem
Settings” screen (page 29).
If you need to change the settings (when using a leased
line, etc.), perform the settings of “Modem Settings”
(page 29).
Notes
• Do not connect or disconnect a modem while the
wireless adapter is turned on.
• If a modem that is not compatible with the wireless
adapter is attached, the STATUS indicator flashes in
red quickly. In this case, attach a compatible modem.
To check the modem settings
You can check the modem settings on the “Status”
screen (page 29).

To connect
If the access point or smartphone/tablet is compatible
with the WPS function, connect the wireless adapter to
the Internet by performing procedures of “Connecting to
the access point with the WPS function” (page 10). If
the access point or smartphone/tablet is not compatible
with the WPS function, connect the wireless adapter to
the Internet by performing procedures of “To connect to
the access point in the STA mode without the WPS
function” (page 28).
Before connecting, turn the access point or smartphone/
tablet on, and activate its tethering function.
Connecting by using a LAN cable
You can connect the wireless adapter to the network via
LAN cable by attaching the optional USB-RJ45 adapter
CBK-NA1 to the wireless adapter. Connect the LAN
cable to the router.
For details about the network settings, see “Wired LAN
Settings” (page 29).
Note
The CBK-NA1 and modem cannot be used
simultaneously.
Turning off the Power
When the power switch is set to “1,” the wireless

Note
When you set the power switch to “1,” the wireless
adapter is turned off instantly. If the settings of the
wireless adapter are changed, the settings are stored on
the internal memory instantly.

You can create a proxy file* from the video and audio
signals that are input from the SDI IN connector. You
can then record the proxy file on an optional SD card by
interlocking to the recording start/stop operation of a
camcorder/recorder that is compatible with the wireless
adapter.
* When the proxy file is recorded automatically by
interlocking to a camcorder/recorder that is compatible with
the wireless adapter, the proxy file inherits the information
and size from the original file. When the proxy file is
recorded manually, or recorded by a device that is not
compatible with the wireless adapter, the proxy file does not
inherit the information and size from the original file.
Preparations
This section explains about an SD card that is used for
recording, and the format setting for the proxy file.
Usable SD Cards
SDHC memory card* (Speed Class: 4 or higher)
The wireless adapter can be used with SDHC memory
cards of no more than 32GB.
* Indicated as “SD card” in these Operating Instructions.

Inserting an SD card
1 Open the cover of the SD card slot.
2 Insert the SD card into the slot with the SD label
facing away from you.
3 Close the cover.
To remove the SD card
Open the cover of the SD card slot, remove the SD card
by pressing the SD card once lightly.
To check the remaining time
You can check the remaining time of the SD card on the
“SD Card” screen (page 17).
Notes
• Data integrity is not guaranteed if the power is turned
off or a memory card is removed while it is being
accessed. Data on the card may be destroyed. The
wireless adapter does not have any salvage function to
recover the damaged material. Be sure that the
wireless adapter is turned off before you remove an
SD card. Be sure that the STATUS indicator lights in
light green and the REC indicator is turned off before
you turn off the power.
• Make sure that the card does not pop out when
inserting or removing it.
Format setting for the recorded proxy file
The format is set to “640 × 360” (3 Mbps (VBR)) as
default. To change the setting, see “Proxy Format
Settings” (page 24).
Recording
The proxy file can be recorded automatically by
interlocking to the recording start/stop operation of the
camcorder/recorder or recorded manually.
To record by interlocking to the
camcorder
The wireless adapter can be used to record a proxy file
of the video/audio of camcorders PMW-500/PMW-400/
PMW-300/PMW-200/PMW-160/PMW-150 (or other
device able to send Rec/Stop control signals in an HD-
SDI signal) by interlocking with recording start/stop
operations. (The REC indicator lights in red while
recording.)
When the recording is stopped on the camcorder, the
wireless adapter stops recording automatically. (The
REC indicator turns off.)
For camcorders that are compatible with the wireless
adapter, the recorded proxy file inherits the information
and size from the original file that is recorded on the
camcorder.
Note
• To interlock to the recording start/stop operation of the
camcorder, you need to set the camcorder to the “HD-
SDI Remote Rec.” To record the proxy file that
inherits the information and size from the original,
you need to set the “Parallel REC” and “Match Clip
Name” settings on the menu of the camcorder. For

details, refer to the operating instructions of the
camcorder.
• If the wireless adapter and the camcorder are turned on
at the same time and you start recording on the
camcorder immediately, the length of a proxy file that
is recorded on an SD card differs from that of the
original file because there is a delay before the
wireless adapter starts recording.
• Interlocking recording is not available when the SDI
signal is SD.
To record by interlocking to the recorder
The recorder PMW-50/RX50 that is compatible the
wireless adapter can send the Rec/Stop control signals
by pressing the assignable button to which “Play&SDI
REC” is assigned, and the wireless adapter can record
the video/audio as the proxy file by interlocking to the
recorder’s playback. (During the recording, the REC
indicator lights in red.)
When playback is stopped on the recorder, the wireless
adapter stops recording automatically. (The REC
indicator turns off.)
To record by interlocking to playback of
the camcorder
The camcorder PDW-850/750 that is compatible with
the wireless adapter can send Rec/Stop control signals
by pressing the assignable button to which “Play&SDI
REC” is assigned when playing a file on the camcorder,
and the wireless adapter can record the video/audio as a
proxy file on an SD card by interlocking to camcorder
playback. (During recording, the REC indicator lights in
red.)
When playback is stopped on the camcorder, the
wireless adapter stops recording automatically. (The
REC indicator turns off.)
Note
Interlock recording is not available when the playback
signal is SD.
To record manually
You can record manually the HD-SDI signals that do not
have the Rec/Stop control signals from the camcorder/
recorder or other devices.
In this case, the recorded file does not inherit the
information and size from the original file.
1 Connect the terminal device to the wireless adapter
via the wireless LAN, start the browser on the
terminal device, then access the wireless adapter
from the browser (page 9).
The “Device Status” screen appears.
Note
When other than the “Device Status” screen is
displayed, the setting menu appears by touching
at the upper left of the screen, then select
“Device Status” to display the “Device Status”
screen.
2 Touch “Rec.”
The wireless adapter starts recording.
To stop recording, touch “Rec” again.
You can prevent misoperations by setting the
“Lock” switch to the right to lock “Rec.”
Note
The “Rec” button operation is not available during
interlocking recording to the camcorder.
Using the “Content Browser Mobile”
application
You can perform manual recording by streaming the
playback video of the camcorder/recorder.
About the recorded file
The file system is FAT32 and the file extension is
“.mp4.”
The time code that is included on the HD-SDI signal is
also recorded on the files.

About the file name
When recording by interlocking to a camcorder/
recorder that is compatible with the wireless
adapter
The file name is created as “<file name of the original
file> + S03.mp4.”
When other than the above
The file name is created from the time code when
starting to record.
For example, when starting to record at 14:30:20:05, the
file name is “14_30_20_05.mp4.” If there is the file of
the same name, a serial number is appended to the time
code.
Directory of the recorded file
The recorded file is stored in the “Root/PRIVATE/
PXROOT/Clip Directory” directory.
Notes
• When reaching the storage capacity of an SD card
during recording, an error message appears on the
screen, and the wireless adapter stops recording.
(When the camcorder is recording, the REC indicator
flashes.)
• The maximum number of files that can be recorded on
one SD card is 600. When reaching the maximum
number of files, the error message “Media Full”
appears on the screen, and the REC indicator flashes.
• When the wireless adapter detects an error of an SD
card (writing or reading error) during recording, an
error message appears on the screen. (When the
camcorder is recording, the REC indicator flashes.)
• When an SD card is write-protected, you cannot
record. An error message appears on the screen.
(When the camcorder is recording, the REC indicator
flashes.)
• When there is a disturbance in the input signal from
the SDI IN connector and cannot be recorded, the
wireless adapter stops recording and an error message
appears on the screen. (The STATUS indicator flashes.
When the camcorder is recording, the REC indicator
flashes.)
• When an SD card is not inserted, recording cannot be
performed. The error message “No Media” appears on
the screen. (When the camcorder is recording, the
REC indicator flashes.)
• During recording by interlocking to the Rec/Stop
control signals, the recording operation on the
“Device Status” screen is disabled.
• The special recording mode of the camcorder such as
the Frame Rec, Interval Rec function, etc., is not
compatible.
• If the file size is larger than 4 GB, the file is split and
“_01” is appended to the file name of the split file.
Checking files that are recorded on
an SD card
The recorded files are listed on the “SD Card” screen.
You can play a file, delete a file, or format an SD card on
the “SD Card” screen.
1 Connect the terminal device to the wireless adapter
via the wireless LAN, start the browser on the
terminal device, then access the wireless adapter
from the browser (page 9).
The “Device Status” screen appears.
2 Touch “ ” > “Media Info” > “SD Card.”
The “SD Card” screen appears.
3 Double touch the file that you want to play.
The selected file is played.
To delete a recorded file
1 Select the file that you want to delete from the list
on the “SD Card” screen.
Select the file by touching. To cancel, touch the file
again.
2 Touch at the upper right of the screen > “Delete.”
The confirmation screen appears. Touch “OK” to
delete the selected file. Select “Cancel” to cancel
deleting.

To format an SD card
When using an SD card that was formatted with another
system unsupported by the wireless adapter, format it by
the following procedure.
1 Touch at the upper right of the “SD Card” screen
> “Format.”
A confirmation screen appears.
Touch “OK” to start formatting. Select “Cancel” to
cancel formatting.
Note
All the data on the SD card are erased when it is
formatted, and the data cannot be restored.
To check the remaining time
The remaining time appears as “Giga Byte” at the top of
the “SD Card” screen.
You can also check the remaining time on the viewfinder
of the compatible camcorder.
Uploading a File
You can upload a proxy file that is recorded on an SD
card, or an original file that is recorded on the
camcorder/recorder to the server on the Internet via the
3G/4G/LTE line or access point.
Preparations
To connect to the Internet
Connect the wireless adapter to the Internet by following
the procedure of “Connecting to the Internet” (page 11).
To register the server for uploading
Register the server for uploading by following the
procedure of “Register the server for uploading”
(page 31)
Selecting the file and uploading
Upload the file that is recorded on an SD card, or the
original file that is recorded on the camcorder/recorder,
to the server.
1 Connect the terminal device to the wireless adapter
via the wireless LAN, start the browser on the
terminal device, then access the wireless adapter
from the browser (page 9).
The “Device Status” screen appears.
2 Display the file list screen for selecting the file.
To upload the file from the SD card
Touch “ ” > “Media Info” > “SD Card.”
To upload the file from the camcorder/
recorder
Touch “ ” > “Media Info” > “Slot A” (for a
memory card in the slot A) or “Slot B” (for a
memory card in the slot B).
The “SD Card,” “Slot A,” or “Slot B” screen
appears.

• The “SD Card” or “Disc” screen appears when
connecting to the PDW-850/750.
• The “Slot A,” “Slot B,” or “Disc” screen cannot
be displayed when the wireless adapter is not
connected with the USB cable.
3 Select the file.
Select the file by touching the file. To cancel, touch
the file again.
For a proxy file that is recorded on an SD card, you
can check the file by double touching the file to
play back.
4 Touch “Transfer.”
The server for which you set “Default Setting” to
“On” in “Register the server for uploading”
(page 31) appears.
To change the server, touch the server to display the
server list, then select the server.
Input the directory for the server to “Directory” if
necessary.
5 Touch “Transfer.”
The wireless adapter starts uploading the selected
file.
The STATUS indicator flashes in light green during
uploading.
To cancel uploading, touch “Cancel.”
Note
If uploading fails, the STATUS indicator flashes in
orange.
If file transferring fails
If file transferring fails, perform it again. If a transfer
was completed partway, the transfer starts from the point
it failed (resume function).
Note
This function is available only on a server that is
compatible with the resume function.
To check the file uploading
You can check the status of uploading on the “Job List”
screen that is displayed by touching “Job List” on the
“SD Card,” “Slot A,” or “Slot B” screen. For details, see
“Job List” (page 32).

You can transmit live video that is being shot with the
camcorder via Internet or local network.
1 Connect the terminal device to the wireless adapter
via wireless LAN, start the browser on the terminal
device, then access the wireless adapter from the
browser (page 9).
The “Device Status” screen appears.
2 Touch “ ” > “Settings” > “Streaming Format.”
The “Streaming Format” screen appears.
3 Select the preset at “Preset” of “Streaming.”
4 Touch “Edit,” then edit the preset.
Set the format and transmission destination
(page 23).
5 Touch “Off” of “Streaming” to change to “On.”
The live video image transmission starts.
Note
If the power is turned off, “Streaming” is set to “Off.” To
perform stream transmission again, set “Streaming” to
“On.”

Remotely
You can control the camcorder/recorder remotely by
accessing the Wi-Fi remote commander that is built into
the camcorder/recorder.
1 Connect the terminal device to the wireless adapter
via the wireless LAN, start the browser on the

from the browser (page 9).
The “Device Status” screen appears.
2 Touch “ ” > “Cam Remote Control.”
