Operation
1-1. Overview
The CAC-6 return video selector selects a return video signal of a video camera system and turns the
microphone of the headset on and off. The CAC-6 is designed to be attached to the panning rod of a
tripod. You can control the return video signal and headset microphone while operating the video camera.
The buttons on the CAC-6 are operated with a light touch of a finger so that unwanted movement of the
camera can be avoided.
The CAC-6 can be mounted on the panning rod of the following tripods. The diameter of the mounting
part is 25 mm.

1RET 1 (return video 1) button
With your finger on this button, the return video 1
signal appears on the viewfinder screen. When the
button is released, the picture picked up by the camera
appears.
2RET 2 (return video 2) button
With your finger on this button, the return video 2
signal appears on the viewfinder screen. When the
button is released, the picture picked up by the camera
appears.

When you are touching both the RET 1 and RET 2
buttons simultaneously, the return video 1 signal
appears.
3MIC (microphone) button
With your finger on this button, the microphone of the
headset is turned on. When the button is released, the
microphone is turned off.
4Lock lever
Used to lock the mounting angle of the CAC-6.
5Mounting part
Used to mount the CAC-6 to the panning rod of a
tripod. The diameter of the mounting part is 25 mm.
6Connector (6-pin)
Used to connect to the RET CONTROL connector on a
video camera.

1-3. Installation
The CAC-6 can be mounted to the desired position of the panning rod of a tripod at any angle the camera operator desires.

Installing the CAC-6
1. Loosen the screw on the mounting part, and
open it.
2. Clamp the panning rod with the mounting
part, and fasten the screw. Then adjust the
mounting angle and turn the lock lever to lock
the angle.

3. Connect the connector to the RET
CONTROL connector on the video camera.
