この取扱説明書をよくお読みのうえ、製品を安全にお使いください。お読
みになったあとは、いつでもみられるところに必ず保管してください。

Oリング（オーリング）とは？
Oリングを使ってマリンパックなどの機器の防水性を保ちます。
Oリングのメンテナンスは非常に重要です。正しく取り扱
わないと、水没の原因になります。

Oリングの取り扱いかた
Oリングをセッティングする
Oリングのセッティングは、砂やほこりのない場所で行ってください。
1Oリングを取りはずす
Oリングを取りはずすときは、図のようにOリングを軽く押さえつけな
がら、矢印の方向にずらしてください。Oリングにたるみができますの
で、簡単に取りはずすことができます。Oリングを取りはずす際は、爪
によってOリングを傷つけないようご注意ください。
2Oリングを点検する
•以下の点を充分確認して、柔らかい布かティッシュペーパーで必ず
取り除いてください。
−ゴミ、砂粒、毛髪、ほこり、塩、糸くずなどが付着していないか
−古いグリスが残っていないか
•目に見えないゴミなどが付着していることもあるので、指先で触っ
て点検してください。

リングを拭き取る際、布やティッシュペーパーの繊維が残らないよ
うに気をつけてください。

リングにヒビ割れ、ゆがみ、つぶれ、ささくれ、キズ、砂かみなど
がないか確認し、ある場合は必ず交換してください。
3Oリングの溝を点検する
砂粒や乾いて固まった塩が入りこんでいる場合があるので、丁寧に取
り除いてください。
4Oリングの反対側の接触面も同様に点検する
5Oリングに付属の指定グリスを塗る
•上の図のようにOリングに米粒大のグリスを、指の腹で全体に薄く均
一に塗ってください。
•O
リングの表面には、いつも薄くグリスがついているようにしてくだ
さい。グリスはOリングを保護し、摩耗を防ぎます。
グリスについて
グリスは必ず付属のグリスをお使いください。
付属のグリス以外をご使用になるとOリングをいため、水漏れしま
す。

6Oリングを溝にセットする
以下の点に注意して、Oリングを溝に均等に入れてください。
−Oリングにゴミなどが付着していないか
−Oリングのねじれ、はみ出しがないか
−Oリングを無理に引っ張らない

Oリングにゴミなどの付着、キズ、ねじれ等の不具合がないか、もう一度
確認してください。
水漏れの確認方法
ご使用の機器を収納する前に、マリンパックを閉じ、水中（約15cm）に
約3分間沈めて、水漏れがないことを必ず確認してください。
Pご注意
砂地の海底で撮影したときや、砂の上にカメラを置いたときは、Oリングを
はずして点検してください。
予備のOリングは必ず持っていきましょう。
現地でOリングに不具合が生じても、慌てずにすみます。
Oリングの寿命について
Oリングは１年程度使用したら新しいものに交換してください。
キズやヒビがなくても変形や摩擦により、防水性能は落ちてきます。

What is the O-ring?
The O-ring ensures the waterproof qualities of the Marine Pack or other
equipment.
O-ring maintenance is very important. Failure to
carry out O-ring maintenance according to the
instructions may lead to water leakage and cause
the Marine Pack to sink.

Fit the O-ring
Avoid fitting the O-ring in dusty or sandy locations.
1Remove the O-ring.
To remove the O-ring, press it lightly and slide it in the direction of the
arrow as illustrated. The O-ring has enough slack to be able to be removed
easily. Be careful not to scratch the O-ring with your fingernail.
2Inspect the O-ring.
•Check carefully for the following. If found, wipe off with a soft cloth or
tissue paper.
– Is there any dirt, sand, hair, dust, salt, thread scraps, etc. on the O-ring?
– Is there any old grease on the O-ring?
•Lightly run your fingertip around the O-ring to check for any invisible
dirt.
•Be careful not to leave any cloth or tissue paper fibers on the O-ring after
wiping it.
•Check the O-ring for cracks, skewing, distortion, fine splitting, scratches,
sand inclusion, etc. Replace the O-ring if it is cracked or scratched.

3Inspect the O-ring groove.
Carefully remove any grains of sand or hardened salt that get into the
groove.
4Inspect the contact surface on the other side of the O-ring in
the same way.
5Apply the special grease supplied to the O-ring.
• Use your fingertips to thinly coat the entire surface of the O-ring with a
small drop of grease, as illustrated above.
•Make sure there is always a thin coating of grease on the surface of the
O-ring. Grease protects the O-ring and prevents wear.

Only use the grease supplied. Other kinds of grease will damage the O-
ring and cause water leakage.
6Fit the O-ring into the groove of the Marine Pack.
Fit the O-ring evenly into the groove paying attention to the following
points:
– Check for dirt on the O-ring.
– Check the O-ring is not twisted or protruding.
– Do not pull the O-ring.

Final check
Check the O-ring again for any dirt, cracks or twisting, etc.
How to check for water leakage
Before installing the equipment, always close the marine pack and
immerse it in water to a depth of about 15 cm for about three minutes to
make sure no water leaks in.
PCAUTION
After taking photos near a sandy sea bottom or placing the camera on the
sand, remove the O-ring and inspect it.
Be sure to take a spare O-ring with you.
You can replace the fitted O-ring on location if
something goes wrong with it.
O-ring life
Replace each O-ring with a new one after one year of use.
Even if the O-ring is not cracked or scratched, deformation or wear
reduces its waterproof qualities.
