INFORMATION
This equipment has been tested and found to

Precautions
¢ When the installation and connections are over, be sure to press
the reset button with a ballpoint pen etc. The reset button is
lccated under the cassette insertion door when the front panel is
detached.

¢ If your car was parked in direct sunlight resulting in a
considerable
rise
in
temperature
inside
the
car,
allow
the
unit
to
cool off before operating it.

If

unit,
check
the
connections

If
everything
is
in
order,
check
the
fuse.
If

have
any
questions

problems
concerning
your
unit

not
covered
in
this

Notes on Cassettes
Cassette care
¢
Avoid
touching
the
tape
surface
of
a
cassette,
as
any
dirt
or
dust
will
contaminate
the
heads.
¢
Keep
cassettes
away
from
equipment
with
built-in
magnets
such
as
speakers
and
amplifiers,
as
erasure
or
distortion
on
the
recorded
tape
could
occur.
¢ Do not expose cassettes to direct sunlight, extremely cold
tery peratures or moisture.
¢
The
cassette
shell
may
become
warm
when
the
tape
is
played
back
for
a
long
period
of
time
because
of
the
built-in
power
amplifier.
However,
this
is
not
a
sign
of
a
malfunction.
Note
on
cassettes
longer
than
90
minutes
The
use
of
cassettes
longer
than
90
minutes
is
not
recommended
except
for
long
continuous
play.
The
tapes
used
for
these
cassettes
are
very
thin
and
tends
to
be
stretched
easily.
Frequent
playing
and
stopping
operation
for
these
tapes
may
cause
them
to
be
pulled
into
the
cassette
deck
mechanism.

At each pressing, the button changes the
band cyclically as follows:

MUTE button
Press to mute the sound momentarily.
Press again to restore the same volume
level. This button will be also canceled in
the following cases:
~— when the + or OFF button is pressed.
— when ejecting a cassette by pressing the
& button during tape playback.
(7] RELEASE button @
LCL (local seek mode) button
Press to eliminate interference from adjacent
stations during reception of a station with
comparetively strong broadcasting signals.
To go back to the norma! receiving
sensitivity, press it again.
LOUD (loudness) button
Press to reinforce the bass and treble
especially when listening at a low volume
level. To cancel this mode, press it again.
Reset button (located on the front part of
the unit hidden by the front panel)
Press this button when you use this unit for
the first time, when you have changed the
car battery or when the buttons of this unit
do not function.
{i} OFF (power off) button
This button does not function during tape
operation. Be sure to eject the tape to turn
off the unit.
CD (disc play/CD changer select) button
Press to turn on the CD play.
Pressing this button during the CD play
changes the CD changer number.
(Only when the two or more CD changers
are connected)

(3 (=\27* } buttons
Normally, the - / + buttons are pressed to
control the volume. Pressing the SEL button
changes the mode as follows:
c BAS(bass) —+ TRE (treble) —» BAL{(balance)
— VOLivolume) <— FAD(fader) aia
Fress the - / + buttons (to adjust the level)
within three seconds, or the volume mode

Press the C*_) button while pressing the SEL
button. To obtain the beep sound again, press
these buttons once more.

Before detaching the front panel, be sure to press the OFF button Caution alarm
first. Then press the RELEASE button to open up the front panel If you turn the ignition key to the
OFF position without removing
the front panel, the caution alarm
will be activated and a beep
sound will be heard for a few
seconds (only when the POWER
SELECT swich is set to the ON
position).
