Purpose of this manual
This manual is the installation manual of the Upgrade Kit BKMA-U70XGI that is
used to upgrade the Multi Access Video Disk Recorder MAV-70 to be equivalent to
the MAV-70XGI.
This manual is intended for use by the trained system and service engineers, and
describes the information regarding installation.

Downloading Parameters from the SY-253 Board
1-1. Precautions
.Contents of this installation manual premises that the replacement of the circuit board using the
BKMA-U70XGI and the version upgrade in order to increase capacity of hard disks such as the
BKMA-U70/36 are going to be implemented simultaneously.
Note that all the materials that have already been stored in the hard disks will be erased when the hard
disks are upgraded of the version.
When the circuit board is replaced using the BKMA-U70XGI, the data that have been stored in the SY-
253 board must be downloaded and then be uploaded to the SY-253A board in order to transfer the
data.
.Shut down the system and turn off the main power of the MAV-70 before starting the circuit board
replacement work using the BKMA-U70XGI.

1. Copy the “Tools/ttermp23” folder and all the folders and files under it that are contained in the CD-
ROM supplied, to TEMP or the desired folder of a personal computer.
2. Click “setup.exe” in the “ttermp23” folder.
TeraTermPro (version 2.3) is installed in a personal computer.
3. Copy the “SY253data” folder in the “Tools/TeraTerm/” in the CD-ROM supplied, to the same folder
where the TeraTermPro (version 2.3) is installed.

In order to start up TeraTermPro (version 2.3), click “ttermpro.ex” in the “Ttermpro” folder.

1. Remove the ornamental panel (A) from the MAV-70.
(Refer to Section 2-2-1 of the Maintenance Manual Volume 1.)
2. Set the switch S3 on the front panel of the MAV-70 to INT.
3. Connect the MAV-70 to a personal computer with the RS-232C cross cable.
4. Turn on the main power of the MAV-70.
5. Start up TeraTermPro (version 2.3).
6. The Tera Term New connection display appears. Click “serial” and press the [OK] button.

7. The Tera Term Serial port setup display appears. Set the communication conditions as follows and
press the [OK] button.

Data 8 bit
Parity none
Stop 1 bit
Flow Control none
8. From the Top Menu, select [Control] _[Macro].
9. From the Macrofile selector display, select “Sy253data/GetSyPr10.ttl”and press [Open].
The “Macro GetSyPr10.ttl”is executed and the parameters contained in the SY-253 board is copied
to a personal computer.
