Introducing the VPL-CW125, Sony’s rst ever WXGA format
business projector developed to cater for the advent of WXGA
resolution notebooks and the increasing availability of wide
format sources.
Utilising Sony’s original 0.74”WXGA panel, coupled with a
highly ecient 200W UHP lamp, the VPL-CW125 is capable of
projecting crisp, clear images with light output of up to 3000
ANSI lumens at 1366 x 800 native resolution.

High Brightness and Contrast Ratio
Sony’s original 0.79” panel for XGA (1024 x 768) models and
0.74” panel for WXGA (1366 x 800) models provide bright and
natural images with excellent colour reproduction for powerful
presentations in any environment.
The Sony 3LCD projection system, together with a high
eciency 200W UHP lamp and original optical engine, combine
to achieve brightness of up to 3500 ANSI lumens. An all new
High Contrast Plate helps to achieve a much higher contrast
ratio and minimise light leakage.
High Resolution and Superb Picture Quality
The VPL-C series projectors adopt a newly developed, large
diameter, all-glass, Advanced Crisp Focus (ACF) lens, which
produces high resolution, sharp, crisp images even at the
corners of the screen.

Sony’s LCD Projector – New Cooling System
Conventional projector cooling systems are not ecient as the lamp is often covered by molded parts which signicantly
increases the operating temperature inside the chassis.
At Sony, as a result of extensive R&D eorts and close co-operation with various business partners, we have developed a new
cooling system that dissipates heat from within the projector chassis much more eciently.

exclusively for Sony, disperses heat more
eciently
Redesigned Air Intake
Cooling air is passed through only one air intake which
contains a lter to trap dust particles. This ensures that only
clean air is being circulated inside the chassis, minimising any
damage that might be caused by impurities and subsequently
improving reliability of the projector. The inclusion of a
larger air lter means cleaning is recommended at the same
time as lamp replacement, greatly reducing the number of
maintenance events compared to conventional projectors.

Sony cannot guarantee that the application software will run properly even though all of the above
system requirements are met.
Notice Regarding Network Presentations
•When an image is sent from a computer to the VPL-CX-series projector, the image is processed
using 1024 x 768 pixels.
•Animation eects and the slide show function in Microsoft PowerPoint presentations can be
used; however, transmission delays may occur if a large number of eects are performed at
once or if several slides are turned at once.
•Network transmission is not suitable for video.
•Network transmission should not be used with sound.
•Applications that use DirectX ®application programming interface may not be displayed properly.
•When using Windows XP or Windows 2000 Operating Systems, the user must be logged into an
account with computer administrator access.
•Application software is provided in English and Japanese.
•Network presentations may not be possible depending on network environment and available
bandwidth.

Easy Network Connections
When projectors are installed on a LAN, images can be
projected from any PC on the same network*.
* Supplied application software needs to be installed.
High Speed Image Transfer Over IP Network
Fast and reliable receiving and projection of data (even
animated Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentations) is capable
via an IP network from any connected PC, using ecient
compression and transmission techniques.
Multiple Projectors On The Same Network
Up to ve projectors connected on a network can project the
same image from a single PC on the same network. This is
ideal in large venue or multiple room applications where the
same image needs to be projected in dierent locations.
Ease Of Switching Presenters
Switching between presenters is as seamless and simple as
a mouse click. No need for disconnecting and connecting of
cables!
Borderless Presentation Solution
Simple networked conguration of the projectors allows
images to be projected all over the world. This is ideal for
applications like distance learning or video-conferencing.
Transmission of data from a PC to a projector in another room
with a dierent network is also possible; an ideal feature for
presenting in a large enterprise building or tertiary education
campus.
Side Shot™ Horizontal Keystone Adjustment
Side Shot™ provides the convenience of placing your
projector o-axis from the centre of the screen if necessary.
Ideal when space is at a premium!
ID function
The projector ID function allows up to three projectors
to be controlled independently with a single Remote
Commander™. This is especially useful when multiple
projectors are installed in the same room.

12-bit 3D Gamma Correction
The new VPL-C series projectors incorporate 12-bit 3D Gamma
Correction circuitry to perform highly accurate gamma
correction, which produces detailed gradation and better
overall picture quality.

Multiple Inputs for Flexible Connection
The new C Series projectors accept a wide variety of video
input signals ranging from Standard Denition to High
Denition. Supported interfaces include: composite, S-Video
(Y/C), and analog RGB/component via the HD D-sub 15 pin
plug. They also accept computer signals from VGA up to
SXGA+ (1400 X 1050).
Monitor Output
This interface enables the materials being presented on
the projector to also be displayed on a connected monitor,
allowing the presenter to maintain eye contact with their
audience.
Easy Maintenance
The VPL-C series incorporates two new features enabling
lamp and lter maintenance without the need to uninstall the
projectors. Lamp replacement is done by removing the rear
panel, and the lter slides out from the front.
The new larger lter means there is no longer the need to
maintain this separately. A reminder message will appear on
screen when it is time to replace the lamp. Filter cleaning is
recommended at the same time.
Lamp life depends on environment and usage conditions
Vertical Keystone Correction
The new VPL-C series can correct vertical keystone up to
+/- 25 degrees.
Tamper Proof with Anti-theft Mechanism
Password-Authentication System: Prevents unauthorized
usage by password lock.
Control Panel Key Lock: Prevents adjustments, accidental or
unauthorised, from being made on the control panel at the
top of the projector.
Security Lock: For added security with an optional security
cable.
Anti Theft Mechanism: For added security or safety with an
optional anti-theft chain or wire.

Direct Power On/O
When activated in the projector’s menu, this feature enables
standby mode to be skipped when power is sent to the
projector, thereby signicantly reducing start-up time. The
internal cooling fan driver circuitry works even after power has
been turned o, allowing the projector to be powered on or
o from a circuit breaker switch.
Low Fan Noise
The highly ecient new cooling system keeps the new
C Series projectors cool, even after long periods of usage. This
feature also helps to provide a whisper quiet 28dB operational
noise level in standard lamp mode
O and Go Function
The ecient new cooling system in the new C Series
projectors has an integrated circuit that continues to run the
fan after power is turned o. This allows users to power o
without having to wait for the projector to cool down.
* If the unit is on for 15 minutes or less, the cooling fan may stop due to
insucient charging.
** The built-in circuit may cause the cooling fan to continue operating for a
short period of time after the power is turned o and on/standby indicator
changes to red colour.
Auto Input Search
When switched on, the projector will automatically check
all input connections and display images from the detected
input.
*Default setting for Auto Input Search is O.
Picture Freeze Function
To minimise disruptions during a presentation, this function
freezes a current on-screen image to allow the presenter to
make amendments or prepare the next presentation.
Flexible Orientation
Installation and application possibilities are boundless
with this feature, as the projectors can be tilted 90 degrees
upwards or downwards from the horizontal axis. This allows
these projectors to be used even in rear projection systems.

Smart APA (Auto Pixel Alignment)
The smart APA function automatically re-sizes and adjusts the
projected images for optimum picture performance.
Picture and Audio Muting Function
To have the audience’s attention focused on the presenter, the
projected image and audio can be muted from the Remote
Commander™.
Selectable Lamp Wattage
“High”or “Standard”lamp wattage can be selected.
High Altitude Mode
This mode is for use in locations with high altitude
(1500-2600m/4900-8500ft).
Digital Zoom
Zoom in to any section of your presentation instantly with the
4-times Digital Zoom function. This allows the presenter to
draw attention to important points quickly and eectively.
Multi-Language Support
The OSD (On Screen Display) menu supports up to 15
languages including English, Dutch, French, Italian, German,
Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, Japanese,
Chinese (Simplied), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, and Thai.
Power Saving in Standby Mode
The new C Series projectors will switch into standby mode if
no input signal is detected after approximately 10 minutes.
Power consumption is reduced to less than 0.5W in standby
mode.
AMX
AMX’s Dynamic Device Discovery Protocol is incorporated in
VPL-C-series projectors. This feature allows for easy installation
of AMX or other control equipment by a system integrator.

Remote Commander™—RM-PJ18
VPL-CX125/CX155/CW125 are supplied standard with the
RM-PJ18 Remote Commander™. The operation buttons are
intuitively laid out according to functions, making remote
control operation a breeze. RM-PJ18 does away with the need
to toggle through inputs by providing direct input selection
buttons.
Remote Commander™—RM-PJ5
VPL-CX100/CX120/CX150 are supplied with the ultra-slim card
type Remote Commander™ for easy storage. The operation
buttons are intuitively laid out according to functions, making
remote control operation a breeze

Bright Images
High light eciency and excellent colour
reproduction
3LCD projectors separate white light from the projection
lamp into red, green and blue primary colours. Each colour
is shone through individual LCD panels (made of high-tem-
perature polysilicon, known as HTPS) that give denition and
movement to the projected image.
Light eciency is excellent because the three primary colours
are projected the whole time the projector is on. This ensures
that users view an image that is both bright and sharp.
3LCD technology is designed to project bright, clear and vivid
images. High light eciency means the projector generates
less heat and costs less to run.
With a separate LCD Panel for each primary colour, you get bright, natural images that are easy on the eyes.
Natural Colour Reproduction
True expression of colour and smooth
gradation in dark areas
With 3LCD technology, the three primary colours of red, green
and blue are carefully controlled and recombined to give
accurate colour reproduction.
This is possible because 3LCD technology allows true
expression of intermediate colours so that viewers can enjoy
life-like and accurate reproduction of dark and shadowed
areas.
3LCD projector colour reproduction range is wide, and
primary colours are faithfully reproduced. Superior gray scale
handling in dark areas enables more natural gradation.
Vivid images
Each of the primary colours are reproduced using dedicated
LCD panels, hence 3LCD projectors show continuous images
that do not suer from colour breakup.
Colour break-up is a phenomenon sometimes associated with
single-chip colour sequential projection systems. It’s known as
the “rainbow eect”, where moving images blur and separate
into its three component colours around the edges.
With 3LCD technology, you get superb reproduction of
moving images.
