RM-C950は、ソニー3CCDカラービデオカメラに接続して使用す
るリモートコントロールユニットです。
次の機種の REMOTE（リモート）端子に接続して、外部から
操作することができます。
•DXC-950

指定されたカメラ、電源を使う
この取扱説明書に記されているカメラおよび電源供給機器（カメラアダプ
ターなど）でお使いください。規定外のカメラ、電源でのご使用は、火災
の原因となることがあります。
付属の接続ケーブルを使う
付属の接続ケーブルを使わないと、火災や故障の原因となることがありま
す。
油煙、湯気、湿気、ほこりの多い場所では設置・使用しない
上記のような場所に設置すると、火災の原因となることがあります。
この取扱説明書に記されている仕様条件以外の環境での使用は、火災の原
因となることがあります。

不安定な場所に設置しない
次のような場所に設置すると、倒れたり落ちたりして、けがの原因となる
ことがあります。
•ぐらついた台の上
•傾いたところ
•振動や衝撃のかかるところ
また、設置・取り付け場所の強度を充分にお確かめください。
移動させるときは、接続ケーブルを抜く
接続したまま移動させると、ケーブルに引っかかって転倒するなど、けが
の原因となることがあります。

1CAMERA/ REMOTE （カメラ/リモート切り換
え）スイッチとREMOTE（リモート）インジケーター
CAMERA：ビデオカメラDXC-950/970MD（別売り）をカメ
ラ側で操作するとき。
REMOTE：ビデオカメラDXC-950/970MD（別売り）を本
機から操作するとき。 REMOTE側にするとREMOTEイ
ンジケーターが点灯します。
2MENU（メニュー）ボタン
約1秒間押し続けると、条件設定用のメニューがモニター画面に
表示されます。もう1度押すと、メニューが消えます。
3FUNCTION ˘/≥
（カーソル移動）ボタン
˘ボタン：押すと、メニュー表示のカーソルが上に動きます。
≥ボタン：押すと、メニュー表示のカーソルが下に動きます。
4DATA ˘/ WHITE（データアップ／ホワイトバラン
ス）ボタン
メニュー表示中：データの設定ができます。押すと、データの値
が高いほうに変化します。
メニューを表示していないとき：カメラの「WHT.Bal」（ホワイトバ
ランス）がautoに設定されている場合、ホワイトバランスの自
動調整ができます。
5DATA ≥
（データダウン）/フラッシュ発光ボタン
メニュー表示中：データの設定ができます。押すと、データの値
が低いほうに変化します。
ご注意
「4.SystemSetup」メニューの「BaudRate」の設定値
は、本機から変更することはできません。
メニューを表示していないとき：フラッシュモード時のフラッシュ発
光ボタンになります。
6BARS（カラーバー）ボタン
約1秒間押し続けると、色調調整用のカラーバー信号を出力しま
す。もう1度押すと、映像出力に戻ります。
◆ モニターの調整については、お買い上げ店またはソニーサービス窓口
にご相談ください。
7LONG EXPOSURE
（蓄積時間調整）˘/≥ボタン
長時間蓄積モードで、メニューを表示していないとき、蓄積時間
（フレーム数）を調整します。
モニター画面に蓄積時間の数値が約1秒間表示されます。
˘ボタン：押すと、蓄積時間が増えます。
≥ボタン：押すと、蓄積時間が減ります。

8IRIS AUTO/MANUAL（アイリス自動/手動切り換え）
スイッチとMANUAL（アイリス手動）インジケーター
AUTO：アイリスを自動調整するとき。
MANUAL：アイリスを手動調整するとき。MANUAL側にすると
MANUALインジケーターが点灯します。IRISつまみで調整
します。
9IRIS（アイリス調整）つまみ
アイリスを手動調整します。
CLOSE側にすると：絞りが閉じられます。
OPEN側にすると：絞りが開きます。
手動調整するときは、IRIS AUTO/MANUAL スイッチを
MANUAL側にしてください。
0ZOOM（ズーム調整）つまみ
ズームの調整をします。
WIDE側にすると：モニター画面に映る被写体の範囲が大きくな
ります。
TELE側にすると：モニター画面に映る被写体の範囲が小さくな
ります。

ZOOMつまみは、ズ−ムレンズVCL-712BXEA（別売り）または
VCL-716BXEA（別売り）を使用している場合のみ、操作できます。

!¡ FOCUS（フォーカス調整）つまみ
フォーカスの調整をします。
NEAR側にすると：近くの被写体にピントが 合 います。
FAR側にすると：遠くの被写体にピントが合います。
ご注意
FOCUS つまみは、ズ−ムレンズVCL-712BXEA（別売り）または
VCL-716BXEA（別売り）を使用している場合のみ、操作できます。

!™ PRINT（プリント）ボタン
ビデオカメラDXC-950/970MD（別売り）の「PrinterTrig.」の設
定が on のときにこのボタンを押すと、プリンター側でメモリーまた
はプリントが できます 。
◆プリンターヘの接続など詳しくはDXC-950/970MDの取扱説明書をご
覧ください。

!£LOCK（ロック）ボタンとLOCK（ロック）インジケーター
押すと、!¢〜!¶ のつまみで設定した値をロックします。
ロック中はLOCKインジケーターが点灯します。
!¢MASTER PEDESTAL（ペデスタルレベル）つまみ
出力信号のペデスタルレベルをR、G、B同時に調整します。
!∞DETAIL（輪郭強調）つまみ
映像の輪郭強調量を調整します。
!§ GAIN（映像利得）つまみ
ビデオカメラDXC-950/970MD（別売り）の「Gain」の設定が
stepのときだけ使用できます。
照明条件が悪く、充分な明るさが得られないとき、映像信号の出
力レベルを上げることができます。
ゲインは0dB〜18dBまで連続して変えられます。
!¶ GAIN RED/BLUE（ホワイトバランス調整）つまみ
ビデオカメラDXC-950/970MD（別売り）の「WHT.Bal」の設定
がmanuのときだけ使用できます。
ホワイトバランスを調整するために使用します。
RED：赤のゲインを調整します。
BLUE：青のゲインを調整します。
ご注意
!¢〜!¶のつまみで設定した値は、本機がカメラに接続されている
ときだけ有効です。設定した後に、 CAMERA/ REMOTE
スイッチをCAMERA側に切り換えたり、接続ケーブルを抜くと、カ
メラ側で設定した値に戻ります。

使用・保管場所
次のような場所での使用および保管は避けてください。
•極端に暑い所や寒い所（使用温度は−5℃〜＋45℃）
•直射日光が長時間あたる場所や暖房器具の近く
•強い磁気を発するものの近く
•強力な電波を発するテレビやラジオの送信所の近く
放熱
動作中は布などで包まないでください。内部の温度が上がり、故
障や事故の原因となります。
輸送
輸送するときは、付属のカートンとクッション、または同等品で梱包
し、強い衝撃を与えないようにしてください。
本機の性能を保持するために（使用上のご注意）
お手入れ
•外装の汚れは、乾いたやわらかい布で軽く拭き取ってください。
汚れがひどいときは、中性洗剤溶液を少し含ませた布で汚れを
拭き取った後、からぶきしてください。
•アルコール、ベンジン、シンナー、殺虫剤など揮発性のものをか
けると、表面の仕上げをいためたり、表示が消えたりすることが
あります。
カメラと接続する際のご注意
DXC-950/970MDと本機を接続する際は、接続の前にカメラの
「BaudRate」を必ず9600に設定してください。
接続後にBaudRateの変更はできません。また9600以外のBaud
Rateではカメラをリモートコントロールできません。

The RM-C950 remote control unit is designed to be used with Sony
3CCD color video cameras.
The unit plugs into the REMOTE (remote) connector of the
following cameras:
•DXC-950
•DXC-950P
•DXC-970MD
Be sure to also read the instruction manuals for the connected video
cameras when using this unit.
For customers in the U.S.A.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the

Precautions
In case of abnormal operation
• If the unit emits smoke, unusual sounds or smells,
• If water or other foreign objects enter the cabinet, or
• If you drop the unit or damage the cabinet:
1Cut the power supplied to the unit.
2Disconnect the connector cable.
3Contact your authorized Sony dealer or the store where
you purchased the product.
This Sony product has been designed with safety in mind.
However, if not used properly, electrical products can cause
fires which may lead to serious bodily injury.
To avoid such accidents, be sure to heed the following.
In case of a breakdown
In case of unit breakdown, discontinue use and contact your
authorized Sony dealer.

Do not allow foreign matter to enter the unit
Allowing water or other foreign matter to enter the cabinet
may lead to fire. If water or other foreign objects happen to
enter the cabinet, switch off the power supplied to the unit,
disconnect the DC power/connection cable and contact your
authorized Sony dealer.
Do not dismantle or modify the unit
Disassembly or modification of the unit may lead to fire,
and/or injury. Leave all adjustments, inspections and repairs
of internal components to your authorized Sony dealer.

An unspecified power supply used with this unit may

• Close to sources of powerful electromagnetic radiation,
such as radios or TV transmitters
Ventilation
To prevent internal heat buildup, do not block air
circulation around the unit.
Transportation
When transporting the unit, repack it as originally packed at
the factory or in materials equal in quality.
Cleaning
• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the
unit. If it is very dirty, use a soft cloth dampened with a
small quantity of neutral detergent, then wipe dry.
• Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, benzene or
thinners as they may damage the surface finish.
Precautions when connecting to a camera
Before connecting the DXC-950/950P/970MD camera to
the RM-C950, be sure to set the baud rate in the camera to
9600. You will not be able to adjust the baud rate after the
camera is connected. The camera can only be controlled
with a baud rate of 9600.
Do not place the unit on an unstable base
The unit may fall, causing physical injury if used in any of
the following places:
• On top of a shaky, unstable table
• On inclined surfaces
• In places subject to vibration or shock
Check that the place of attachment is strong enough to
support the weight of this unit, and that the unit and
attachment device are secure.
Disconnect the DC/connection cable before
moving the unit
If the unit is moved with the DC/ connection cable still
attached, the cable may be damaged, resulting in fire.
Operating Precautions
Operating or storage location
Avoid operating or storing the unit in the following
locations:
• Extremely hot or cold places (Operation temperature:
–5°C to +45°C [23°F to 113°F])
• In direct sunlight for long periods, or close to heating
equipment (e.g., near heaters)
• Close to sources of strong magnetism

5DATA ≥(setting value reduction)/ flash
button
With the menu displayed: decreases the setting value.
Note
The baud rate setting in the “4. System Setup menu” cannot
be adjusted from this control unit.
With the menu hidden: activates the flash button when in
the flash mode.
6BARS (color bars output) button
Pressing this button for one second outputs the color bars
signal. Press again to revert to video signal output.
For monitor adjustment, contact your authorized Sony
dealer.
7LONG EXPOSURE (accumulation time
adjustment) ˘/≥buttons
Adjusts the accumulation time (number of frames) when in
the long exposure mode and when menu is hidden.
Accumulation time values are displayed on the monitor
screen for about one second.
Press the ˘button to increase accumulation time.
Press the ≥button to reduce accumulation time.
1CAMERA/ REMOTE (camera/remote)

CAMERA: For operating the video cameras DXC-950/
/950P/970MD (not supplied) by the on-camera
controls.
REMOTE: For operating the video cameras DXC-950/
DXC-950P/DXC-970MD (not supplied) from this
remote control unit. The REMOTE indicator lights up
when the switch is in the REMOTE position.
2MENU (menu recall) button
Pressing this button for one second brings up the
operational settings menu on the screen of the monitor
connected to the camera. Press again to hide the menu.
3FUNCTION ˘/≥(cursor up/down) buttons
Press the ˘button to move the menu cursor upwards.
Press the ≥button to move the menu cursor downwards.
4DATA ˘/WHITE (setting value increase/
white balance adjustment) button
With the menu displayed: increases setting value.
With the menu hidden: activates the automatic white
balance adjustment function when “WHT. Bal” (white
balance) is set to “auto”.
