Introduction
WARNINGS

The Southwire 51010S Borescope Inspection Camera allows visual
inspection of hard to reach places. Applications include HVAC and
machinery maintenance, auto, truck, and boat analysis, cable
routing, and building inspection. Proper use and care of this
instrument will provide many years of reliable service.
• Do not use near live electrical wiring.
• Do not use near flammable or explosive gases
• Do not over-reach. Follow all safety procedures.
• Do not use for medical inspections.
Maintenance
This Instrument is designed to provide years of dependable service,
if the following care instructions are performed:
1. KEEP THE INSTRUMENT DRY. If it gets wet, wipe it off.
2. USE AND STORE THE INSTRUMENT IN NORMAL TEMPERATURES. Temperature
extremes can shorten the life of the electronic parts and distort or melt
plastic parts.
3. HANDLE THE INSTRUMENT GENTLY AND CAREFULLY. Dropping it can damage
the electronic parts or the case.
4. KEEP THE INSTRUMENT CLEAN. Wipe the case occasionally with a damp cloth.
DO NOT use chemicals, cleaning solvents, or detergents.
5. USE ONLY FRESH BATTERIES OF THE RECOMMENDED SIZE AND TYPE.
Remove old or weak batteries so they do not leak and damage the unit.
6. IF THE INSTRUMENT IS TO BE STORED FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, the
batteries should be removed to prevent damage to the unit.

Operation
Power Button
Press the power button to turn on the borescope. If the display does not turn
on, replace the batteries. (Refer to Battery Replacement instructions in manual.)
To turn the borescope off, press and release the power button.
Auto Power Off
Auto power off (APO) will automatically turn off the borescope approximately
8 minutes after being turned on. Press and hold the rotation
button for 2 seconds to turn on the APO. The “ ” symbol will appear on top
right corner of the display. Press and hold the rotation button
again to turn off the APO. The “ ” symbol will disappear from the display.
LED Brightness Adjustment
Press the Bright button to control the light intensity of the four LEDs on the
head of the camera. A momentary press will increase the brightness by one
level. A brightness gauge on the LCD display indicates light intensity. Pressing
and holding the button will continuously increase the light intensity from 0 to
100% brightness.
Rotate Image
Momentarily press the “ ”rotation button to rotate the image 180°.
Digital Zoom
Momentarily press the “ ” zoom button to zoom image up to 2x. The zoom
will increase by 20% each time the button is pressed.
Battery Status Light
The battery status light is green when batteries are good. The light will change
to red when the batteries are getting low. The red light will flash 5 times and
the borescope will power off when the batteries are fully worn.

Connecting the Camera Stem
To connect the camera stem to the instrument body, ensure that the keyed
ends are properly aligned. Once aligned, tighten the knurled knob to hold the
connection firmly in place. To remove, turn in the direction shown on the
knurled knob.
Battery Replacement
To replace batteries, push latch to open battery door.
Remove and safely discard old batteries. Replace
batteries using four new AA batteries. Observe
correct polarity as shown inside battery housing.

Notes:
• Do not aim directly at the sun or bright light. High light levels can damage
camera.
• The camera is waterproof, but the display housing is not. Do not submerge
the housing in water or use in wet environment.

warranty does not cover fuses, disposable batteries, or damage arising from

maintenance or repair, operation outside of specifications, or abnormal
handling of the product.
Southwire’s sole liability, and the purchaser’s
exclusive remedy, for any breach of this warranty is expressly limited to
Southwire’s repair or replacement of the product. Whether Southwire repairs
or replaces the product will be a determination that Southwire makes at its
sole discretion.
SOUTHWIRE MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE PRODUCT WILL
BE MERCHANTABLE OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
SOUTHWIRE MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR
IMPLIED, OTHER THAN THE WARRANTY SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH
HEREIN.
SOUTHWIRE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL,
CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES FOR
ANY BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY.
This warranty is void if this product is used for rental purposes. No product
reseller is authorized to extend any other warranty on Southwire’s behalf
relating to this product, and no such reseller warranty will be binding on
Southwire. If you have a warranty claim, or if the product needs to be
serviced during or after the warranty period set forth above, please contact
the Customer Service Department at 855-SWTOOLS (855-798-6657).
The sender is responsible for all shipping, freight, insurance, and packaging
costs associated with sending a product to Southwire. Southwire will not be
responsible for lost or damaged products returned pursuant to this warranty.

Botón de Encendido/Apagado
Presione el botón de encendido para encender el boroscopio. Si la pantalla no se
enciende, cambie las baterías. (Consulte las instrucciones de Cambio de Baterías
en el manual). Para apagar el boroscopio, presione y suelte el botón de encendido.
Apagado Automático
Ajuste del Brillo LED
Presione el botón de brillo para controlar la intensidad de las cuatro luces LEDs
en la cabeza de la cámara. Cada vez que presione el botón momentáneamente
aumentará el brillo por un nivel. Un indicador de brillo en la pantalla muestra la
intensidad de la luz. Presionar y sujetar el botón continuamente aumentará la
intensidad de la luz de 0 a 100% de brillo.
Girar la Imagen
Presione momentáneamente el botón de girar “ ” para girar la imagen en 180°.
Zoom Digital
Presione momentáneamente el botón de zoom “ ” para agrandar la imagen
hasta 2 veces. El zoom aumentará por 20% cada vez que se presione el botón.
Luz del Estado de la Batería
La luz de estado de la batería es verde cuando las baterías están buenas. La luz
cambiará a roja cuando las baterías estén bajando de carga. La luz roja destellará
5 veces y el boroscopio se apagará cuando las baterías se descarguen por completo.
El apagado automático apagará el boroscopio automáticamente después de 8
minutos aproximadamente de cuando se encendió. Presione y sujete el
(rotation symbol) símbolo de girar por 2 segundos para encender el apagado
automático. El símbolo “ ” aparecerá en la esquina superior derecha de la
pantalla. Presione y sujete el símbolo de girar de nuevo para apagar la función
de apagado automático. El símbolo “ ” desaparecerá de la pantalla.

Conectar la Extensión de la Cámara
Para conectar la extensión de la cámara al cuerpo del instrumento, asegure
que los extremos estén bien alineados. Una vez que estén alineados, apriete
la perilla estriada para sujetar bien la conexión. Para retirar la extensión,
gire en la dirección indicada en la perilla estriada.
Cambio de Baterías
Para cambiar las baterías, empuje el cerrojo para abrir
la puerta de las baterías. Retire y deseche de manera
segura las baterías viejas. Coloque cuatro baterías
AA nuevas. Mantenga la polaridad correcta.
