1. Getting ready for installation
Minimum PC specification required: -
Windows 98, 2000 or XP
A Free USB port
CD ROM drive
Pentium 166Mhz or higher
32 Mbytes of RAM or higher
Items you s hould have: -
1) Speed Touch USB Modem (Colour may be different)
2) ADSL cable (RJ45 cable)
3) Driver/Software CD
4) ADSL Filter (Not pictured)

Installation Procedure
1. Firstly DO NOT connect the USB modem before installing the drivers otherwise it wi ll not install properly.
2. Put the CD - ROM supplied into the CD - ROM drive, the CD should auto start, if it does not go to start > My
Computer > CD - ROM (Most likely d:) and double click.
3. The program will ask which language you would like to continue with, sel ect from the drop down menu which
ever language you feel most comfortable with and click OK. NOTE: The default language is English.
4. Once the CD has started you will see this screen. Click next to start the installation .

5. When the licence agreement comes up please read and except it by pressing YES.
NOTE: this licence must be accepted to continue with the installation.
6. Next you will need to selected where the files will be stored the default is C: \ Program files \ speed touch.
N OTE: You can select another destination if you wish. Once done click next .

8. Now the driver is installed, click finish. NOTE: If this is a reinstallation or repair of the drivers you will now
need to restart the PC, the first time you have install ed the driver you will not need to do this.
Modem Installation
1. Connect the ADSL filter to your BT phone socket as if a normal phone .
2. Then connect one end of the RJ45 cable to the filter and the other to the USB Modem. NOTE: Any phone
being used on your ADSL enabled phone line will need to be connected to the socket marked PHONE on
the filter.
3. Connect the SpeedT ouch USB Modem to your PC with the USB cable.
4. Windows will detect the modem and a small balloon will appear in the bottom right corner, and the n
another telling you that your new hardware is ready for use.

Setting up connection to Datanet
1. Double click the icon on the desktop SpeedTouch
2. When the dialog appears asking for your user name and password please enter the user name and
passwor d provided by Datanet for you account. NOTE: You may want to tick the box marked remember
password for ease of use, or leave un - ticked for extra security.
3. Your modem should now dial through to Datanet and you internet connection will be activated.
