precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions before using Thumper®.
To reduce the risk of electric shock:
• Always unplug Thumper® from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.
• Do not use while bathing or in a shower.• Do not move or store Thumper® where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid. Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into the water. Unplug
immediately.
Warning: To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock or injury to
persons:
• Thumper® should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug Thumper® from outlet when not in use and before cleaning

3
• Never operate Thumper® if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped, damaged, or immersed in water.
Contact the factory for examination and repair.
• Do not operate under a blanket or pillow, or any place where ventilation may be insufficient.
• Close supervision is necessary when used on, by or near children, invalids, or disabled persons.

Massage should be pleasant and comfortable. If you feel pain or
discomfort, discontinue use immediately and consult your
physician.
If you suffer from any medical condition do not use a Thumper®
massager, any other electrical massager, or manual massage without
first consulting your doctor. Always remember that Massage should be
pleasant and comfortable; if you feel pain or discomfort, discontinue use
immediately and consult your physician.
Serious side effects or adverse events with massagers are extremely
rare, but as with any kind of massage therapy (with hands or
with massage equipment) it is important to observe the following
contraindications:
When not to use Thumper®

4
Do NOT use a massager if you have:
• Concerns about your health• Uncontrolled high blood pressure• Varicose veins• Lesions• Blood clots• Lymphedema• Neuropathies• Pregnancy • Peripheral Vascular Disease• Pace makers• Arterial stents• Kidney problems• Severe osteoporosis• Unexplained calf pain• Advanced stage disorders• Skin conditions: shingles/herpes, extreme dermatitis such as eczema, acne, psoriasis
• Post-surgery without a doctor’s clearanceDo not use on testicles, ovaries, breast tissue, eyes, ears, head, neck, kidneys or directly on bone.
Warning:
DO NOT USE any massager on your neck. The neck is not generally a fragile structure but in some people, massaging the neck can lead
to serious adverse effects. A particular case of brain artery damage
was reported in 2004 in a study by Arthur C. Grant, MD, PHD; Norman Wang, MD. They suggested that a specific warning of the risk of stroke and injury to critical blood vessels would prompt more cautious use of
electric massagers on the neck.
Stroking Legs: If stroking the legs, always stroke toward the heart as
this travels in the direction of the normal flow of venous blood.
Pinching of the skin: When used correctly, Thumper® does not
pinch. If the massager is tilted over excessively, loose skin could be
forced into the gap between the massage sphere and the plastic hous-
ing, pinching the skin. To avoid this, always keep the massage spheres
and thumper action perpendicular to the body.
Itching may occur if:
• Irritable material or clothing is used between Thumper® and the skin (e.g. synthetic materials).
• Left in one spot too long (over 60 seconds). • The relative humidity of the environment is quite low, during the dry winter months, for instance.
Tickling: In the legs, tickling is a normal reaction. Tickling will subside
after approximately 5-10 seconds with Thumper® “Parked”. Feet will not tickle if Thumper® is used on self, but may tickle when a person places
it on another person’s feet.

Controls
Patented Thumper Action means that Thumper VersaPro works with
direct drive percussive, rather than orbital action. Orbital massagers ‘rub’ your skin, while percussive massagers deliver a more powerful massage.
Thumper VersaPro’s unique action – a steady, comfortable, pulsed acu-pressure – delivers a more thorough and effective massage. Its pulsation frequencies penetrate even large body parts without having to ‘dig
deeper’ as one does with hand massage.VersaPro contains self leveling steel suspension that automatically
adjusts to different body parts. This means that you do not have to be
concerned with the extra weight of your thighs verses say your feet, when
applying them to the massage pads. Simply lay on or against VersaPro
and relax.

Power Cord Storage: Your Thumper VersaPro massager is equipped
with a plastic cord tie to help you store its 12 ft. power cord. It should
remain attached to the power cord when in use as seen below

Electronic Speed Controller
Thumper VersaPro operates with a sophisticated electronic motor
controller incorporating speed feedback logic plus protection from
overheating or stalled motor conditions. Speed feedback logic means
that it maintains the RPM of each of its 6 designated speeds (ranging
from 16-30 pulses per second), regardless of load. When additional
force or weight is put onto the massaging pads, the controller
recognizes the extra load and adjusts the current to maintain its speed.
A reverse compensation takes place when the extra load is removed
and the motor speeds up. The adjustment takes place sixty times per
second and is not noticeable to the user. The base controller has 4
tactile switches plus 13 led speed and massage profile indicators.
When powering ON, VersaPro will always go UP or DOWN with the Manual Speed triangles or divert to one of can use the + or – triangular buttons to manually increase or decrease Green LEDs. Pressing the AUTO PROGRAM button repeatedly (or hold) cycles in a counter clockwise direction. Watch the GREEN LED lights for indication of which program you are currently running. Speed/ Power Settings: When powering ON, VersaPro will always reset to Manual Power#3. This is your starting point. From here you may
go UP or DOWN with the Manual Speed triangles or divert to one of the 7 Auto Programs. Thumper VersaPro has 13 different power/speed
settings. Speeds range from 1 at the weakest, to 6 at the strongest. You
can use the + or – triangular buttons to manually increase or decrease the speeds.
In addition to fixed speeds, the VersaPro has 7 Auto Profile Programs,
which create a variance of speed and power to enhance your massage
and relaxation. The 7 auto programs are activated by the AUTO

Maintenance
Cleaning Tips: If the external surfaces become soiled, wipe clean
with a cloth dampened with a mild soap. Do not use thinner, benzene, or any other solvents. Thumper® is maintenance free, constructed with
permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings. No additional lubrication is necessary. Thumper® has no user serviceable parts inside.
Plugging In: To reduce the risk of electric shock, Thumper® may
have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). If so, this plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one-way. If the plug does not fit fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install a proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.(5) Quadriceps: sitting

Electrical Insulation: Thumper® is a double-insulated product. In a
double-insulated product, two systems of insulation are provided
instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated product, nor should a means for grounding be added to the
product. Servicing a double-insulated product requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system, and should be done only by qualified service
personnel. Replacement parts for a double-insulated product must be
identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated product is marked
with the words “Double Insulation” or the symbol (square within a square).Extending Product Life: To get the most out of your Thumper® and
to make it last a long long time, you should consider three factors which
have a direct effect on premature wear: heavy load, high temperature,
and long uninterrupted running time.
Load: Thumper® is designed to operate best with its own weight. If too
much weight is applied to the massager it will result in weak Thumping
action. This is because Thumper® needs to pulse its massage spheres
against the muscle somewhat like the beating of a drum. When too much
force or extra weight is applied, its action is smothered or restricted and
it penetrates less, not more. All Thumper® products are designed with an
overload safety system to prevent damage to the device or to the user.
On some products the power is simply diminished until the load comes
back to normal levels, on other products the device shuts down and
needs to be reset.
Temperature: Internal temperature of the device is a function of a
number of variables: ambient temperature, running time, and load.
Excessive heat generated due to heavy loads on the system will quickly
cause the motor core temperature to rise. Persistent operation at an
elevated temperature will prematurely wear the working components and
may lead to motor damage. All Thumper® products have ventilation gaps
to allow air circulation inside the device. Some models are equipped
with cooling fans. All Thumper® products are designed with an over-
temperature safety system to prevent damage to the device or to the user.
If the temperature rises to excessive levels, the device will shut down and
will have to be allowed to cool, then reset.
Running Time: Thumper® has been tested and certified to meet
electrical safety standards established by, UL (Underwriters
Laboratories), CSA (Canadian Standards Association), and EN (European Standards) for household electrical appliances and massage appliances.
These products are intended for intermittent use, which is defined as
“20 minutes ON / 20 minutes OFF” (i.e. if you run it for 20 minutes, then you let it cool for 20 minutes).
