Ortéza je určena pro použití u pouze jednoho pacienta. Budete-li ji používat při léčbě více než jednoho pacienta, zaniká záruka za produkt poskyto-
vaná výrobcem ve smyslu zákona o lékařských produktech. Pokud by se během nošení vyskytly nepřiměřené bolesti nebo nepříjemný pocit, sejměte,
prosím okamžitě bandáž a vyhledejte svého lékaře nebo ortopéda. Ortézu nenoste na otevřených ranách a používejte ji jen podle předchozího lé-

Zweckbestimmung
Die medi 4C ist eine Hyperextensionsor-
these. Das Produkt ist ausschließlich zur
orthetischen Versorgung der LWS / BWS
einzusetzen und nur für den Gebrauch
bei intakter Haut bestimmt.
Indikationen
• Stabile Wirbelkörper-Kompressions-
frakturen der mittleren und unteren
BWS und LWS
• Temporäre Immobilisierung nach
Operationen instabiler Wirbelkörper-
frakturen oder Bandscheiben und nach
dekomprimierenden Eingriffen mit
und ohne interne Stabilisierung
• Konservativ bei inoperablen oder
postoperativ bei Wirbelsäulentumoren
und –metastasen
• Axiale Stabilisierung bei osteoporo-
tisch bedingten Sinterungen der
Brust- und Lendenwirbelsäule
Kontraindikationen
Die medi 4C Hyperextensionsorthese
sollte nicht bei instabilen operations-
pflichtigen Wirbelkörperfrakturen im
Brust- und Lendenwirbelbereich (mit
und ohne neurologische Defizite)
eingesetzt werden.
Einstellen der Breite
Lösen Sie zunächst die beiden Schrau-
ben am Chassis (A/B) und stellen Sie die
Orthese auf die Körperbreite ein. Bitte
beachten Sie, dass die Orthese an den
Seiten flächig am Körper anliegt. Drehen
Sie nun die Schrauben wieder fest.
Einstellen der Winkel des oberen
Metallbügels
Lösen Sie die beiden Schrauben (C).
Nehmen Sie die Winkeleinstellung so
vor, dass die beiden Reklinationspelotten
knapp unterhalb des Schlüsselbeins
(s. Abb. 3) zum Liegen kommen. Drehen
Sie die beiden Schrauben wieder fest.
Einstellen der Länge
Entfernen Sie die seitliche Polsterung (G)
und lösen Sie die beiden Schrauben (H).
Stellen Sie die Orthese auf die Größe des
Patienten ein.
Wichtig: Je nach Läsionshöhe kann
das Chassis (H) an den Verbindungs-
stellen nach oben oder unten
verschoben werden. Bitte vermeiden
Sie ein Schränken der seitlichen
Rahmenteile. Im Bedarfsfall sollte nur
am Brust- oder Beckenbügel
geschränkt werden.
Einstellen der Reklinationspelotten
Lösen Sie die Schrauben (D). Stellen Sie
nun die Höhe sowie die Seitenneigung
der Reklinationspelotten ein. Bitte
beachten Sie, dass das mittlere Chassis
(A) nicht auf dem Brustbein aufliegt.
Drehen Sie die Schrauben wieder fest.
Einstellen der Winkel des unteren
Metallbügels
Lösen Sie die beiden Schrauben (E).
Nehmen Sie die Winkeleinstellung so
vor, dass die Symphysenpelotte (F) am
Körper anliegt. Die Symphysenpelotte
sollte nicht zu tief liegen, um eine
aufrechte Sitzposition zu ermöglichen.
Drehen Sie die beiden Schrauben wieder
fest.

Klappen Sie die Deckel der beiden
Verschlüsse nach hinten um. Schieben
Sie die beiden Enden des Gurtbandes

Μην κλείσετε με βία τη ζώνη! όταν

κλείστε με πίεση τα δύο καλύμματα.
Μπορείτε με ένα ψαλίδι να κοντύνετε τη
ζώνη. Στην περίπτωση αυτή να λειάνετε
τα άκρα της ζώνης. Με το
συμπαραδιδόμενο βέλκρο μπορείτε να
συγκρατήσετε τα άκρα ώστε να
αποφύγετε το να προεξέχουν προς τα
έξω. Για να ανοίξετε πρέπει να κινηθεί
μόνο ένα κάλυμμα προς τα πίσω.
Προσοχή: Μην υπερκάμπτε τε το
κάλυμμα! Η ζώνη τραβιέται τώρα εύκολα
προς τα έξω.
medi 4C με κλείσιμο βραχίονα
Ρύθμιση του μήκους των ζωνών
Ρυθμίστε με το βέλκρο (J) και τη θηλιά
αντιστροφής (Κ) το μήκος της ζώνης έτσι
ώστε η΄πελότα (L) να βρίσκεται στη μέση
της πλάτης. Να προσέξετε να τραβηχτούν
προς τα μέσα τουλάχιστον 5 εκατοστά
της ζώνης. Κόψτε προσαρμοστά τα
πλαϊνά μαξιλαράκια της πελότας της
πλάτης. Παρακαλούμε να προσέξετε να
μην αλληλεπικαλύπτεται
Κλε ίσιμο του κλεισίματος με βραχίονα
Τοποθετήστε το βραχίονα (Μ) προς τα
πίσω και πιέστε τον προς τα κάτω. Το
κλείσιμο είναι τώρα σταθεροποιημένο.
Παρακαλούμε να προσέξετε να έχει
πιεστεί ο βραχίονας τελείως προς τα κάτω.
Συνιστούμε να ελέγξετε τη λειτουργία του
medi 4C την επόμενη ημέρα και
ενδεχομένως να το επαναρυθμίσετε. Για
ευχάριστη και άνετη χρήση συνιστούμε
να φοράτε το ορθωτικό μηχανήμα πάνω
σε ελαφρύ ρουχισμό (π.χ. μπλουζάκι).
Υποδεί ξεις περιποίησης
Μπορείτε να σκουπίσετε την όρθωση με
ένα νωπό πανί. Η πελότα της πλάτης
μπορεί να καθαριστεί ελαφρά με μία
βούρτσα του χεριού.
•Μην χρησιμοποιείτε λευκαντικό
•Στεγνώνετε στον αέρα.
•Μην σιδερώνετε.
•Μην κάνετε στεγνό καθάρισμα.
    
Φύλαξη
Να φυλάσσεται σε θερμοκρασία
δωματίου και σε στεγνό χώρο. Να
προστατεύεται από ηλιακή
ακτινοβολία και υγρασία.

medi 4C
Intended purpose
medi 4C is a hyperextension brace. The
product is exclusively to be used for the
orthotic fitting of the lumbar spine /
thoracic spine and only on unbroken
skin.
Indications
• Stable vertebral compression fractures
of the lower thoracic and lumbar spine
• Temporary immobilisation after
operations of unstable fractures of
vertebral bodies or veretebral discs
and after decompressing operations
with and without internal stabilisation
• Conservative inoperable or postoperative
treatment for tumours and metastases
of the spinal column
• Axial stabilisation for osteoporotic
vertebral colapse in the thoracic and
lumbar spine
Contraindications
The medi 4C hyperextension orthosis
should not be used for patients with
unstable lumbar or thoracic vertebral
fractures with and without neuroloical
deficit which require surgery.
Adjusting the width
First loosen the 4 allen screws on the
chassis (A/B) and adjust the orthosis to
the width of the patient’s body.
Please ensure that the orthosis lies flat
against the body. Retighten the screws
on the chassis (A/B)
Adjusting the upper angle
Loosen the two upper screws (C). Adjust
the angle so that the two extension pads
lie just below the cavicle (Fig. 3) Tighten
the two screws (C).
Adjusting the length
Remove both side pads (G) and loosen
the screws on the lateral chasis (H).
Adjust the orthosis to the length of the
patient’s body.
Important note: the chassis (H) can be
moved up or down on the connecting
sites to match the level of the lesion.
Take care not to bend the lateral
frame sections for adjusting the
length after removing from the
chassis. If necessary, only the upper
chest rod and pelvis clasp should be
set. Do not use any sharp-edged tools.
Sharply bent parts should be replaced
rather then re-bent.
Cut the padding (G) to the required
length and attach it with the Velcro
strip. Tighten the chassis screws (H).
Adjusting the extension pads
After loosening the screws you can
adjust the height of the extension pads
(D) and the lateral angle. Please ensure
that the central chassis (A) does not
come into contact with the sternum.
Adjusting the lower angle
Loosen the two screws (E). Adjust the
angle to position the symphysis pad (F)
to suit the body contours. Please ensure
that the symphysis pad is not too low to
allow the patient to sit upright. Now
tighten both screws.
medi 4C with ratchet closer
Closing the buckle
Fold back the buckles of both closers.
Push both ends of the straps into the clip
openings from the back until they
emerge from the front. Opening the
clasp to 90 degrees and closing it draws
the strap in and it can easily move into
hyperextension. Caution: Do not close
the belt by force! On reaching the
desired final position, press both buckles
closed. The strap can be shortened using

scissors. In this case, please smoothen
off the ends of the belt. Only one buckle
needs to be folded back to remove the
brace.
Caution: Do not bend the buckle too
far! The belt can now be simply pulled out.
medi 4C with cliplock
Setting belt length
Adjust the belt length with the Velcro
fastener (J) and the guide loop (K) so that
the compression pad (L) sits in the
middle of the back. Please ensure that
the grip fastener pulls in about 5 cm of
the belt. Cut the side padding of the
compression pad to fit. Please ensure
that the padding of the compression pad
(L) and that of the side section do not
overlap.
Closing the cliplock
Fold the buckle (M) back and press it
downwards. The closer is now fixed.
Please ensure that the clip has been fully
pushed down.
You are recommended to check the
function of the medi 4C and make any
necessary adjustments on the day
after fitting. To make wearing more
comfortable we recommend the patient
wears a T-Shirt under the brace.
Care instructions
Wipe the brace with a damp cloth. The
back compression pad can be cleaned
with a hand brush.
• Do not bleach.
• Leave to dry naturally.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.
    
Storage instructions
Store in a dry place at room temperature.
