1. Temperature Probe (P/N: 1-1272-1)
Required Tools:
2. #2 Phillips Screwdriver
3. 5/16” Wrench
4. 1/2” Wrench or Ratchet
5. Allen Wrench (3/32”)
6. Pliers (Adjustable or Vise Grip)
CAUTION: Detach power cord before
proceeding
Remove Safety Bolt behind Adjustment
Knob using 1/2” Wrench
Remove pressure adjustment knob by
loosening 1/4”-20 x 1/4” set screw using
3/32” Allen Wrench

Grip the spindle using Pliers
NOTE: Grip at the lowest possible point, as
the Plier jaws may damage the threads
CAUTION: Ensure heater is cool to the
touch before proceeding
Support the full weight of the heater
Unthread Adjustment Spindle from
Adjustment Arm using Pliers and set down
Heater onto Lower Platen

Remove 4x #6 x ½” Screws from control
housing using #2 Phillips Screwdriver
Unplug Temperature Probe from Controller
port P4 (newer models) or J2 (older models)
Unscrew and disconnect braided cloth (high
temperature) wires from terminal strip
positions 3 & 5 as shown

Disconnect Ground Wire leading to Heater
from screw stud inside Housing by removing
#6-32 Nut using 5/16” Wrench and #2
Phillips Screwdriver
Unscrew Conduit Retaining Nut using Pliers
Remove Conduit and wiring from Housing,
set aside Heater and straighten out Conduit
to ease Temperature Probe installation

Unscrew 4x #10-24 x 5/8” Screws with
Plastic Finishing Washers using #2 Philips
Screwdriver
NOTE: Do not over-tighten screws as Plastic
Finishing Washers may break
Remove Heater Cover and Mineral Wool
Insulation
Remove old Temperature Probe
Install new Temperature Probe

Insert new Temperature Probe wire through
Conduit
NOTE: Removing heater wires and
straightening Conduit will ease wire insertion
Replace Heater Cover and screw in 4x #10-
24 x 5/8” Flat Head Screws and plastic
Finishing Washers using #2 Phillips
Screwdriver
NOTE: Do not over-tighten screws to avoid
breaking plastic finishing washers
Insert wiring and Conduit into Housing

Screw on Conduit Retaining Nut using Pliers
Connect Ground Wire to screw stud inside
Housing by installing on #6-32 Nut using
5/16” Wrench and #2 Phillips Screwdriver
Connect braided cloth (high temperature)
wires to new Controller at terminal strip
positions 3 & 5 as shown and tighten screws
with #2 Phillips Screwdriver

Plug Temperature Probe into Controller port
P4 (newer models) or J2 (older models)
Install top half of Controller Housing and
secure by screwing in 4x #6 x ½” Screws
using #2 Phillips Screwdriver
Install Heater by threading Adjustment
Spindle into Adjustment Arm using Pliers
NOTE: Grip the spindle using Pliers at the
lowest possible point, as the Plier jaws may
damage the threads
Install pressure adjustment knob by
tightening 1/4”-20 x 1/4” set screw using
3/32” Allen Wrench

Install Safety Bolt using 1/2” Wrench
Plug in press and turn ON to verify proper
operation
