Remote control operation
The unit comes with a 10 meter wired multifunction remote controller
with 5-pin XLR connector. Its intuitive LCD-enhanced interface provides
manual and automatic control, as well as DMX address designation.
Set up DMX channels
Press the “FUNCTION” key until the LCD shows “DMX512 ADD***”. Then
set up the desired DMX channel by pressing “↑” key to increase the DMX
channel (512 = max.). Press “↓” key to decrease DMX channel (0 = min.).
For example, when setting up DMX channel as 111, the LCD will show
“DMX512 ADD111”.
Connect DMX signal source to the fog machine
Use a DMX 512 controller to control this unit, and connect the DMX signal
source to “DMX IN” connector on the rear panel of the fog machine. The
fog machine will enter DMX receiving status, the LCD shows “DMX512

Functions of DMX channels
Each unit occupies 4 DMX channels as follows:
XChannel 1: for output on/off,
XChannel 2: for output 0% to 100%,
XChannel 3: for interval time (1s to 200s),
XChannel 4: for spraying time per output (1s to 200s).
The exact DMX functions are listed below:
A When the rst channel data is less than 5%, output is OFF and other
channels have no functions.
B When the rst channel data ranges from 5% to 50%, output is ON,
push channel 2 to adjust the output intensity from 0% to 100%.
Channels 3 & 4 have no functions.
C When the rst channel data ranges from 51% to 95%, push channel 2
to adjust the output intensity. And push channel 3 to control the interval
time between 2 sprayings (max: 200s, min: 1s), push channel 4 to
control the spraying time (max: 200s, min: 1s). The maximum spraying
time of 200s is available only when the output intensity is around 30%.
D When the rst channel data ranges from 95% to 100%, the output is
100%.
Cleaning
After every 40 hours of continuous operation, we recommended to run
our Stairville fog machine cleaning uid through the system to prevent the
accumulation of particulate matter in the heating element. Please follow
these guidelines:
1. While the unit is unplugged and cooled down, unscrew the nozzle at
the very front of the unit and clean out debris with vinegar and a pipe
cleaner, making sure that the hole is free of clogs.
2. Empty all fog uid from the machine. Add Stairville fog machine
cleaning uid to the tank. Plug the unit in and let it warm up.
3. Run the unit in a well-ventilated area, until the tank is empty.
4. Replace the nozzle.
5. Cleaning is now completed, rell with fog liquid.
All fog machines are prone to clogging due to the thick consistency of fog
uid and the high temperature at which it vaporizes. However, a properly
maintained fog machine should provide years of reliable use.

Maintenance and service
XDo not allow the fog liquid to become contaminated. Always replace
the caps on the fog liquid container and the fog machine liquid tank
immediately after lling.
XAll maintenance and service operation inside the unit must be carried
out by a qualied technician only.
XEmpty all fog uid from the machine before transporting the device.
Troubleshooting
If you experience low output, pump noise or no output at all, unplug the unit
immediately. Check the uid level, the external fuse, remote connection,
and power from the power socket by connecting another suitable device
to that power socket. If all appears to be OK, plug the unit in again. If fog
does not come out after holding the remote button down for 30 seconds,
check the hose attached to the tank to make sure there is uid going
through the hose.
If our tips could not solve your problem, disconnect the device from
power supply and please contact our service department. Find contact
information on our website www.thomann.de.
