Before returning any product to our store, call our Product Support

During initial use of a shredder, you may notice an odor that has an oily
or burning smell. This odor is considered normal during initial use and may
be emitted as the oils from the manufacturing process burns off during
initial operation.

1. Remove all packing materials from shredder
2. Place shredder on flat surface
3. Carefully lower shredder head (A) onto the bin housing (B)
4. Make sure the bin is properly inserted into bin housing
5. Plug shredder in
6. Turn shredder on using power switch (D) and ensure power indicator light (C) illuminates
7. Keep all packing materials until you have inspected and operated the product
8. If any parts are damaged or missing, please call 1-866-755-1321 for assistance.

SHREDDING:
1. Plug the shredder into
electrical outlet.
2. Slide the power switch into the auto
position. The power indicator will
illuminate blue when ready.
3. Insert up to 10 sheets of paper, 1 credit
card, 1 CD or 1 DVD straight into the
feed opening
4. Empty the paper bin frequently to avoid
jams.
For all safety purposes, turn off shredder when not
in use.
CLEARING A JAM:
±When a jam occurs the shredder will
automatically stop and reverse for a few
seconds. The power indicator with
flash until the jam is cleared
±To clear jam:
1. Wait until the shredder has
finished reversing
2. Grasp the excess paper
3. Pull paper out
±Clearing a jam while in reverse:
1. Move the power switch to the
forward ▶▶ position
2. Let shredder run for about 5 seconds
— If jam does not clear, move the
power switch to the reverse ◀◀
positon and run for five seconds.
Repeat this procedure until the
jam is cleared
— If the jam still does not clear,
unplug the machine and remove
paper manually
Do not place your hands near the feed opening
1. Slide the power switch into the off
position
2. Pull out the bin and dispose of the paper
shreds or compress the shreds down
3. Place the bin back in
4. Slide the power switch into auto for
normal operation
OVERHEATING:
±The overheat indicator will turn red and
the machine will shut off if the motor
becomes too hot after shredding for more
than 25 minutes
± Let the shredder cool until the overheat
indicator turns off (about 60 minutes)
± Turn the shredder off and on again;
continue shredding as normal
MAINTENANCE:
To keep your Staples®Brand shredder
running smoothly and dispose of shreds
quickly, use Staples®Brand shredder
lubricant sheets (Model# 12434) and Staples®
Brand shredder bags (Model# 22403). Apply
lubricants after 30 minutes of shredding or a
minimum of twice per month.

Lors de la première utilisation d’un déchiqueteur, il peut y avoir une odeur
d’huile ou de brûlé. Cette odeur est normale et peut être dégagée quand les
huiles sont brûlées au cours de la première utilisation.

1. Déballez le déchiqueteur.
2. Placez-le sur une surface plane.
3. Placez doucement la tête du déchiqueteur (A) sur le bac à papier (B).
4. Assurez-vous que le bac est bien inséré dans son compartiment.
5. Branchez le déchiqueteur
6. Mettez le déchiqueteur en marche au moyen du commutateur (D) et assure
vous que l’indicateur de courant (C) s’allume
7. Ne vous débarrassez pas de l’emballage tant
que vous n’avez pas inspecté ni testé le
déchiqueteur.
8. Si certaines pièces sont endommagées ou
manquantes, veuillez appeler au
1-866-755-1321 pour demander de l’aide.

DÉGAGER LE PAPIER BLOQUÉ :
±Lorsqu’un bourrage se produit, le
déchiqueteur s’arrête automatiquement
et se met en marche arrière pendant
quelques secondes. Le voyant
d’alimentation clignotera jusqu’à ce qu’il
n’y ait plus de papier coincé.
±Pour dégager le papier coincé :
1. Attendez que le déchiqueteur ait
terminé sa marche arrière.
2. Saisissez le papier excédent.
3. Retirez le papier.
±Comment dégager le papier coincé lors
d’une marche arrière :
1. Déplacez l’interrupteur au mode
marche avant ▶▶.
2. Laissez le déchiqueteur fonctionner
pendant environ cinq secondes.
— Si le papier est encore coincé,
déplacez l’interrupteur au mode
marche arrière ◀◀ et laissez le
déchiqueteur fonctionner
pendant environ cinq secondes.
Répétez cette procédure jusqu’à
ce qu’il n’y ait plus de
papier coincé.
— Si le papier est encore coincé,
débranchez le déchiqueteur et
retirez le papier manuellement.
Tenez vos mains loin de l’ouverture d’alimentation.
ENTRETIEN :
Pour assurer le bon fonctionnement de votre
déchiqueteur Staples®et pour jeter rapide-
ment le papier déchiqueté, utilisez les feuilles
de lubrification Staples®pour déchiqueteurs
(modèle no 12434) et les sacs Staples®pour
déchiqueteurs (modèle no 22403). Utilisez les
feuilles de lubrification après 30 minutes de
déchiquetage ou au moins deux fois par mois.
1. Brancher le déchiqueteur
sur une prise électrique.
2. Glisser le bouton d’alimentation à la
position auto . Le voyant d’alimentation
s’illuminera en bleu pour signaler que le
déchiqueteur est sous tension et prêt à
fonctionner.
3. Insérer jusqu'à 10 feuilles de papier, un
CD, un DVD ou une carte de crédit,
insérez-les directement dans la bouche
d’alimentation
4. Vider la corbeille fréquemment pour éviter
le blocage.
Par précaution, éteignez le déchiqueteur lorsqu’il
n’est pas en marche.
1. Déplacez l’interrupteur au mode arrêt
2. Retirez le bac et jetez le papier
déchiqueté ou compressez-le vers le bas
3. Replacez le bas
4. Déplacez l’interrupteur au mode
automatique pour reprendre le
fonctionnement normal.
SURCHAUFFEMENT :
±La déchiqueteuse s’éteindra et l’indicateur
de surchauffe deviendra rouge si le
moteur devient trop chaud après plus de
25 minutes de déchiquetage.
± Laissez le déchiqueteur refroidir jusqu’à ce
que l’indicateur de surchauffe s’éteigne
(environ 60 minutes).
± Éteignez et allumez le déchiqueteur
pour continuer votre déchiquetage.
