Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a StarTech.com 4 Port Component A/V Switcher with RS-232.
Designed to provide simple, ecient switching between Composite/HD video sources as
well as S/PDIF(digital) or RCA (analog) audio, VS421CPNTA is the ideal choice for using
multiple composite or component video sources with a single standard or high denition
display, with support for HDTV display resolutions of 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i
and 1080p. As an additional convenience, VS421CPNTA can be controlled using a serial
connection, the front panel push-buttons, or the included IR Remote control.

Rear Panel
1. RS232: 9-pin D-sub female connector for connecting Serial based remote control devices
2. YUV/Composite output: Use a 3 RCA to 3 RCA cable to connect to the intended display
3. YUV/Composite Input 4: Use a 3 RCA to 3 RCA cable to connect to input source #4
4. YUV/Composite Input 3 : Use a 3 RCA to 3 RCA cable to connect to input source #3.
5. YUV/Composite Input 2 : Use a 3 RCA to 3 RCA cable to connect to input source #2

Serial Control
The following command codes can be used to control VS421CPNTA via a serial connection
from a host computer/terminal. Please note that “I” and “P” refer to capital letters.

Stop Bit : 1 bit
