1. About this document

2. General safety precautions
!
Disconnect the power supply before
attempting any work on the unit.
During installation, the electric power cable being
connected must not be live. Therefore, switch o
the power first and use a voltage tester to make
sure the wiring is o-circuit.
• Installing the sensor-switched light involves work
on the mains supply voltage. This work must
therefore be carried out professionally in accord-
ance with national wiring regulations and elec-
trical operating conditions. (e.g. DE-VDE 0100,
AT-ÖVE/ÖNORME8001-1, CH-SEV1000)
• Only use genuine replacement parts.
• Repairs may only be made by specialist work-
shops.
• The light source of this light cannot be replaced.
If the light source needs to be replaced (e.g. at
the end of its service life), the complete light must
be replaced.

RS PRO Connect R30
Proper use
– Sensor-switched indoor light with active motion
detector for installing indoors.
– Can be retrofitted with emergency light
The integrated HF sensor emits high-frequency
electromagnetic waves (5.8 GHz) and receives their
echo. The change in echo caused by the slightest
movement within the light's detection zone is
detected by the sensor.
A microprocessor then issues the switch command
"switch light ON". Detection is possible through
doors, panes of glass or thin walls.
Note:
The high-frequency power of the HF sensor is
approx. 1 mW – that is 1000 times less than the
transmission power of a mobile phone or micro-
wave oven.

4. Electrical connection
• Switch OFF power supply (Fig.4.1)
Connecting the mains power supply lead (Fig.4.1)
The supply lead is a three-core cable:
L= phase conductor (usually black, brown or
grey)
N= neutral conductor (usually blue)
PE = protective-earth conductor (green/yellow)
If you are in any doubt, identify the conductors
using a voltage tester; then disconnect from the
power supply again. Connect phase (L) and neutral
conductor (N) to the terminal.

Important:
Incorrectly wired connections will produce a short
circuit later on in the product or your fuse box. In
this case, you must identify the individual con-
ductors once again and reconnect them. A mains
power switch for turning the unit ON and OFF may
of course be installed in the mains supply lead
(in applications without emergency light module).
Important:
The light source of this light cannot be replaced. If
the light source needs to be replaced (e.g. at the
end of its service life), the complete light must be
replaced.
5. Mounting
• Check all components for damage.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged.
• When installing the light, make sure the installa-
tion site is not subject to vibration.
• Select an appropriate mounting location, taking
the reach and motion detection into consideration.
• The ventilation slots must not be obstructed after
installing the light.
Mounting procedure
• Undo retaining screws (no need to remove the
retaining screws completely) and take o the light
enclosure (Fig.5.1)
• Mark drill holes (Fig.5.2)
• Drill holes and insert wall plugs (Fig.5.3)
• Installation with surface-mounted power supply
lead (Fig.5.4)
• Installation with concealed power supply lead
(Fig.5.5)
• Connect conductors (Fig.5.6)
• Fit light enclosure and screw in place with retain-
ing screws (Fig.5.7)
• Switch ON power supply
6. Function
Factory settings
Reach setting: 10 m
Main light time setting: 3 min.
Basic light time setting: 5 min.
Twilight setting: 500 lux
Basic light dimming level: 5%
Backlight: ON
The sensor function is activated in the factory
setting so that the light is directly ready for opera-
tion. To put the product into reference mode, go to
the technical documentation at: www.steinel.de.
To configure the light, you must download the
Steinel Connect App from your app store. You will
need a Bluetooth-capable smartphone or tablet.
Android iOS
Reach adjustment
The reach setting can be infinitely varied between 1
and 10 m. Reach can be reduced in four directions
by fitting the slot-in shrouds included. (Fig.6.1)
Time setting
The main light's ON time can be set to any period
from 5seconds to 60minutes. Any movement
detected before this time elapses will restart the timer.
Twilight setting
The chosen response threshold can be infinitely
varied from 2 to 2000lux.
Basic light level
The brightness of the basic light level setting can be
varied between 1% and 50%.
The period for which the basic light level stays ON
for can be infinitely varied between 10 minutes and
30 minutes, or set to remain ON all night.
Main light level
The brightness of the main light level setting can be
varied between 50% and 100%.
Backlight (PLUS version)
The setting for switching the backlight ON or OFF
can be selected manually.
Constant-lighting control (PLUS version)
If this function is activated, lighting will be set to a
constant level in natural daylight. If the surroundings
become darker, the light increases its light output, if
the surroundings become brighter, the light reduces
its light output.

Grouping
The RS PRO Connect R10/R20/R30 can be operated
as a single light or interconnected with several lights
by wireless communication to form a group.
All lights belonging to a group operate in line with
the group parameters set in the Steinel Connect
app. Reach can be set individually for all lights in
the lighting group.
Fade Time
Fade Time can be used to set the rate of dimming
on switching the light ON and OFF (1 s - 3 s).
Neighbouring-light function
The neighbouring-light function can be activated
and deactivated via the Steinel Connect App. This
function assigns the neighbouring groups to the
active lighting group. The active group responds
to activation signals from the neighbouring group
assigned to it and switches to main light or basic
light as defined in the settings.
Presence detector function
The presence detector function can be activated
and deactivated via the Steinel Connect App. The
presence detector function should be activated
to increase the sensitivity of sensor detection
after switching the light ON. This then enables
the sensor to also, for example, detect slighter
movements such as arm or hand movements once
a person has entered the detection zone (making
pronounced movements). This prevents move-
ments outside the chosen detection zone from
switching light ON when it is not needed but leaves
light switched ON in response to less pronounced
movements. To avoid light being switched ON all
the time, at least one movement must be detected
every ten minutes. If this is not the case, the sensor
leaves sensitive mode and the light switches OFF
after the stay-ON time elapses. Deactivate the pres-
ence detector function if the light is left switched
ON when it is not needed.

8. Maintenance and care
The product requires no maintenance.
The light enclosure can be cleaned with a damp
cloth (without detergents) if dirty.
Important:
The control gear cannot be replaced.
9. Disposal
Electrical and electronic equipment, accessories
and packaging must be recycled in an environmen-
tally compatible manner.
Do not dispose of electrical and electronic
equipment as domestic waste.
EU countries only:
Under the current European Directive on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its imple-
mentation in national law, electrical and electronic
equipment no longer suitable for use must be col-
lected separately and recycled in an environmentally
compatible manner.

country, they are neither curtailed nor restricted by

in perfect condition and proper working order for a
period of 5years. We guarantee that this product
is free from material-, manufacturing- and design
flaws. In addition, we guarantee that all electronic
components and cables function in the proper
manner and that all materials used and their surfac-
es are without defects.
Making Claims
If you wish to make a claim, please send your prod-
uct complete and carriage paid with the original
receipt of purchase, which must show the date of
purchase and product designation, either to your
retailer or contact us at STEINEL (UK) Limited,

2. Allmänna säkerhetsanvisningar

Bryt spänningen före alla
arbeten på produkten!
Inkoppling måste utföras i spänningsfritt tillstånd.
Bryt strömmen och kontrollera med spänningspro-
vare att alla parter är spänningslösa.
• Eftersom sensorarmaturen installeras till nätspän-
ningen måste arbetet utföras på ett fackmanna-
mässigt sätt enligt gällande installationsföreskrif-
ter och anslutningskrav i respektive land. (t.ex.
DE-VDE 0100, AT-ÖVE/ÖNORME8001-1,
CH-SEV1000)
• Använd endast originalreservdelar.
• Reparationer får bara genomföras i en auktorise-
rad verkstad.
• Armaturens ljuskälla kan inte bytas ut; om ljuskäl-
lan slutat fungera (t.ex. när den är uttjänt), så
måste hela armaturen bytas ut.
3. RS PRO Connect R10 /
RS PRO Connect R20 /
RS PRO Connect R30
Användning
– Sensorarmatur med aktiv rörelsevakt för monte-
ring inomhus
– kan enkelt kompletteras med nödljus i efterhand
Den integrerade HF-sensorn sänder högfrekventa
elektromagnetiska vågor (5,8 GHz) och mottar
deras eko. Vid minsta rörelse i lampans bevaknings-
område registreras ekoförändringen av sensorn och
ljuset tänds.
Detekteringen fungerar också genom dörrar, glas
eller tunna väggar.
Anmärkning: HF-sensorns högfrekvenseekt är ca
1 mW – det är bara en tusendel av sändareekten
från en mobiltelefon eller en mikrovågsugn.

4. Elektrisk anslutning

Nätanslutningens matarledning består av en
3-ledarkabel:
L= Fas (oftast svart, brun eller grå)
N= Neutralledare (oftast blå)
PE = Skyddsledare (grön/gul)
Vid osäkerhet, måste ledningarna identifieras med
en spänningsprovare; gör dem därefter spännings-
fria igen. Fas (L) och neutralledare (N) ansluts till
anslutningsplinten.
Viktigt: En förväxling av anslutningarna leder till
kortslutning i armaturen eller i säkringsskåpet. I ett
sådant fall måste de enskilda kablarna identifieras
igen och anslutas på nytt. På nätkabeln kan en
strömställare för till- och frånkoppling installeras (vid
användning utan nödljusenhet).

Viktigt:
Armaturens ljuskälla kan inte bytas ut; om ljuskällan
ändå måste bytas ut (t.ex. när den är uttjänt), så
måste hela armaturen bytas ut.
5. Montage
• Kontrollera samtliga delar med avseende på skador.
• Är produkten skadad får den inte tas i bruk.
• Armaturen måste monteras vibrationsfritt.
• Välj en lämplig montageplats med hänsyn till
räckvidd och rörelsedetektering.
• Lufthålen får inte vara övertäckta efter monteringen.

6. Funktion
Fabriksinställningar
Inställning av räckvidden: 10 m
Efterlystid normalljus: 3 min.
Efterlystid grundljus: 5 min.
Skymningsinställning: 500 lux
Grundljus dimnivå: 5%
Backlight: ON
Sensorfunktionen är aktiverad i fabriksinställningen
så att armaturen är driftsberedd direkt. Öppna den
tekniska dokumentationen på: www.steinel.de
för att ställa in produkten på referensläge.
För att programmera armaturen måste Steinel
Connect App laddas ner från AppStore. Det krävs
en Bluetooth-förberedd smartphone eller surfplatta.
Android iOS
Inställning av räckvidden
Räckvidden kan steglöst ställas in mellan 1 och
10m. Genom montering av bifogade täckplattor
kan räckvidden reduceras i fyra riktningar. (bild 6.1)
Efterlystid
Önskad efterlystid av normalljuset kan ställas
in steglöst från 5 sekunder till 60 minuter. Varje
registrerad rörelse som sker innan denna tid löpt ut,
nollställer efterlystiden.
Skymningsinställning
Armaturens aktiveringsnivå kan ställas in steglöst
mellan 2 och 2000lux.
Grundljus
Grundljusets ljusnivå kan ställas in mellan 1% och 50%.
Grundljusets efterlystid kan ställas in steglöst mellan
10 minuter och 30 minuter eller hela natten.
Normalljus
Normalljusets ljusnivå kan ställas in mellan 50%
och 100%.
Backlight (PLUS variant)
Inställningen för till- och frånkoppling av backlight
kan göras manuellt.
Konstantljusreglering (PLUS variant)
När denna funktion är aktiverad, regleras belysning-
en till ett konstant värde vid dagsljus. Blir omgiv-
ningen mörkare, reglerar armaturen upp ljusstyrkan
och tvärtom.
Gruppering
Det går att använda RS PRO Connect R10/R20/R30
som enskild armatur eller att sammankoppla flera
armaturer i grupper via en radiokommunikation.
Alla armaturer som är tilldelade en grupp, agerar
enligt de i Steinel Connect appen inställda gruppa-
rametrarna. Räckvidden kan individuellt ställas in för
varje gruppdeltagare.
Fade Time
Med Fade Time kan dimkurvan ställas in när arma-
turen tänds och släcks (1s - 3s).

Grannfunktion
Via Steinel Connect App kan grannfunktionen akti-
veras resp. avaktiveras. Härvid tilldelas granngrup-
perna aktiv armaturgrupp. Gruppen reagerar på
inkopplingssignaler från tilldelad granngrupp och
antingen tänds då normalljuset eller grundljuset,
beroende på inställning.
Närvarodetektor
Via Steinel Connect App kan närvarodetektorn
aktiveras resp. inaktiveras. Närvarodetektorn bör
aktiveras för att öka sensorns känslighet efter
tillkopplingen. Då detekteras även mindre rörelser
(arm- handrörelser) som säkerställer detektering
vid längre stillasittande vistelse i rummet. Därmed
undviks att rörelser utanför önskat bevakningsom-
råde orsakar oönskade tändningar, men ljuset förblir
tänt vid mindre rörelser. För att undvika permanent
tillkoppling måste minst en rörelse detekteras var
10:e minut. Om så inte är fallet lämnas det känsliga
läget och ljuset släcks efter att efterlystiden har löpt
ut. Om armaturen förblir tänd även när du inte vill
det, inaktivera då närvarofunktionen.

Armaturens kupa kan rengöras med en fuktig trasa
(utan rengöringsmedel) när den är smutsig.
Viktigt:

Elapparater, tillbehör och förpackning måste lämnas
in till miljövänlig återvinning.
Kasta inte elapparater i
hushållssoporna!
Gäller endast EU-länder:

omsättning i nationell lagstiftning, måste uttjänta
