Overview:
Tools:
This document will aid you with the install of your backbox flasher kit.
This kit requires that you add wiring to your game, please enlist help if not comfortible.
Kit Contents:
You will need the following tools to complete this installation:
•1/4" Drive Hex Nut Driver
I recommend a magnetic tip version. A nice set is available at Pinball Life to
feed your pinball tool habit. Search for Klein on www.pinballlife.com for details.
• Wire Cutters
• Pliers
• #2 Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Scotch or masking tape

1) Ensure your machine is turned off.
2) Remove the backglass.
3) Remove the display and lay it on the playfield
glass.
4) Locate the connector labeled J6 Flash Lamps
and J7 Low Current Solenoid.
It will be in the middle bottom of the
power driver board.
Picture 1 & 2 shows these connectors.
5) Locate the Orange Wire on the J6 connector.
* Note: These connectors are labeled
with the lower numbers on the right of
the connector.
6) It may be necessary to undo factory
installed wire managment before you
proceed.
7) Take the BLUE splice from the kit.
8) Using your thumbs, push the wire into the
metal part of the splice as shown. It will
only just begin to seat, this is just to
keep the wire from moving.
This is shown in Picture 3.
9) Close the splice around the wire.
Be sure that the wire is in the center of
the metal clip as shown in Picture 4 to
the left.
* Note: Failure to watch this step carefully can
cause you to CUT the wire you are splicing!
10) Once you are sure the wire is in the
correct locations in the crimp, grab it by
the thin end as shown in Picture 4
11) Grab the closed end of the splice with the
pliers on it's fat end as shown in
Picture 5 on Page 4.
Check one more time! Is the wire in the
right location in the splice? If so, squeeze the
pliers until you hear a click.

12) Locate the connector labeled J7 Low Current
Solenoid. It will be in the middle
bottom of the power driver board.
Picture 6 shows this connector.
13) Locate the violet wire with the white stripe
on the J7 connector. It is in position 6,
which is the 5th wire from the left of the
connector.
* Note: These connectors are labeled
with the lower numbers on the right of
the connector.
14) Take the RED Splice from the kit.
15) Using your thumbs, push the wire into the
metal part of the splice as shown. It will
only just begin to seat, this is just to
keep the wire from moving.
This is shown in Picture 7.
16) Close the splice around the wire.
Be sure that the wire is in the center of
the metal clip as shown in Picture 8 to
the left.
* Note: Failure to watch this step carefully can
cause you to CUT the wire you are splicing!
17) Once you are sure the wire is in the
correct locations in the crimp, grab it by
the thin end as shown in Picture 8.
18) Grab the closed end of the splice with the
pliers on it's fat end as shown in
Picture 9, Page 5.
Check one more time! Is the wire in the
right location in the splice? If so, squeeze the
pliers until you hear a click.

19) Place the template from the kit directly below
the metal plate holding the CPU and
PDB in the backbox and all the way to the
side of the cabinet.
See Picture 10.
20) Use tape to attach the template.
21) Locate the #6 screws from the kit. Put
one screw in the nut driver and feed it
through the base of the bracket and
lamp assembly as shown in
Picture 11.
22) Line up the bracket and lamp assembly
with the left edge of the template right
beneth the metal plate holding the
boards in. See Picture 12.
23) Install screw into the bracket. Be sure that the
bracket is lined up with the template
before proceeding! Do not tighten the
screw all the way, it should be snug only.
24) Make sure the bracket is flush to the
metal plate holding the CPU and
Power Dirver board. Once confirmed,
install the remaining screw.
25) Remove the template.
27) Install the lamp into the socket.
28) Install the BLACK wire from the lamp
socket into the red splice on the JP6
connector. See picture 1, Page 1.
29) Plug the RED wire from the lamp socket
into the blue splice on the JP7 connector.
30) Wire manage as needed.
Your install is now complete!

You can adjust the lamp socket as needed by
bending it slightly.
You can test the flash lamp functionality by
going into the Flash Lamp Test and running
FLASH: Pop Bumper #20. See Picture 13.
