IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions before using the Stinger Electric Insect Killer and keep for future reference.
1. This product is equipped with a 2-prong plug to fit the proper type receptacles. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, only plug into a properly
installed outlet.
2. Do not insert fingers or any foreign objects into the unit while it is connected to an electrical outlet.
3. Collected insects within the unit may contribute to fire. Clean dead insects from the unit frequently.
4. Do not clean this product with water, spray or any other liquids. Do not place where it can fall into water, or near flammable materials.
5. For outdoor residential use only.
6. Store product indoors when not in use – out of reach of children.
7. Always disconnect plug before servicing, cleaning, changing bulbs and when not in use.
8. Do not abuse cord – never carry unit by cord. Unplug unit by pulling on the plug - not the cord. Keep cord away from heat, oil, or sharp edges.
9. Extension cords used with this product must be marked with suffix letters “W-A” and with a tag stating “Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliances”.
10. Use only extension cords that have plug and receptacles that match the product plug. Replace or repair damaged cords.
11. Electrical rating of the extension cord must be as great as the electrical rating of the product.
12. There are devices available for retaining a connection between an extension cord and a power supply cord. Connections should be kept off the
ground and dry.
13. Do not mount the unit on house, other buildings, on decks or near heat, gas, oil or other flammable materials.
HOW THE STINGER INSECT KILLER WORKS
The Stinger Electric Insect Killer is designed to attract and kill a wide range of flying insects. The
ultraviolet (UV) light given off by this unit is within the luminescent range proven effective to lure these
insects. Insects are attracted to the light and killed as they contact the electrically charged grid area.
Insects fall through the open base onto the ground. The outer protective cage helps prevent pets, birds,
butterflies, and children’s fingers from contacting the charged grids. This unit is for outdoor use only
and can withstand moderate rain. For best results, the unit should be installed in early spring and left on
throughout the season.
CHOOSING A LOCATION (Figure 1)
When selecting a location, please remember that insects will be lured to the unit. Place the unit about 25 feet away
from the area intended for human activity. Position the insect killer between the source of insects (woods, water
supply, lowlands, etc.) and the area to be protected. Model BK100 will effectively cover a 1 acre area. Model
BK300 effectively covers 1 ½ acres.

INSTALLATION/OPERATION
1. Unpack unit, save all packaging material for off-season storage. DO NOT REST THE UNIT ON SURFACE WITHOUT
CONTINUING TO SUPPORT IT. It will not stand on its own.
2. Select the proper location to hang the unit using the guidelines above. For Model BK300 use the bonus cord included
in the box to hang the unit.
3. Hang the unit approximately 7 feet above the ground from a tree, mounting pole or other free standing object.
Never mount or hang the unit from a house or other building.
4. Plug the cord into a compatible extension cord rated for outdoor use.
5. The unit will be ON once it is connected to an electrical source. There is no separate ON/OFF switch.
Please allow up to 5 minutes for the bulb to light completely.
6. Model BK300 has 2 settings – 24 Hour Operation and ™Dusk to Dawn Operation.
a. To select 24 Hour Operation, slide the grey button on the cap down so that it covers the sundown sensor.
The unit will remain ON 24 hours a day (Figure 2).
b. To select ™Dusk to Dawn Operation, slide the grey button up, revealing the sundown sensor.
The unit will automatically turn ON at dusk, operate through the night, and turn OFF in the morning (Figure 3).
7. Using the available lure will add to the effectiveness of the unit by adding scent proven to attract more insects to the unit.
8. It is recommended that this unit be put to use in early spring and left out until late fall to maximize effects.
9. The unit is designed to withstand moderate rain but should be taken down and stored indoors during severe weather.

DIAGNÓSTICO Y SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La unidad no se enciende, no parece haber voltaje en la rejilla.
• Asegúrese que la unidad esté conectada a un tomacorriente operativo.

• Revise la bombilla para asegurarse que esté bien colocada. • Cambien la bombilla si es necesario.
La unidad parece estar funcionado bien pero la población de insectos no parece disminuir.
• Revise los alrededores para ver si hay agua estancada, los insectos se reproducen en estas áreas y deben se eliminados de la
fuente.
• Espere más tiempo. Se requiere algo de tiempo para que los insectos encuentren la unidad y también para que haya un impacto en
sus ciclos reproductivos.
• Intente mover la unidad a otra área en el patio. Si usted está entre la unidad y la fuente de los insectos, estos tendrán de volar hacia
usted para llegar a la unidad y usted notará un aumento en el número de insectos.
La unidad está formando constantemente un arco eléctrico (chispeando).
• Limpie la unidad de acuerdo a las instrucciones en este manual. • La unidad formará un arco eléctrico al ser conectada y luego se
estabilizará. Esto es normal.

CAMBIO DE BOMBILLAS (Figure 5)
Use sólo bombillas de reemplazo Stinger. Las bombillas deben ser reemplazadas anualmente para mantener la óptima eficacia UV. Aunque la luz de la
bombilla pueda ser visible para usted, su capacidad de atraer insectos disminuye con el paso del tiempo. Si la bombilla no enciende o si el color de la luz
cambia a amarillo o anaranjado es momento de cambiar la bombilla. Vea las ESPECIFICACIONES DEL PRODUCTO para el tipo de bombilla de reemplazo
de su dispositivo.

Un señuelo de octanol NOsquito de Stinger (NS16) está incluido en esta unidad. Las investigaciones han demostrado que el
octanol es eficaz en atraer muchas especies de mosquitos y moscas. Este señuelo tiene propiedades de liberación lenta y
aumenta la eficacia de atraer los mosquitos a la unidad. Para obtener mejores resultados, cambie el señuelo cada 30 días.

Todos los modelos de las series BK tienen un soporte especialmente diseñado incorporado a la base. Simplemente deslice el
señuelo en el soporte con el lado expuesto de octanol apuntando hacia el dispositivo (Figure 4). El señuelo debe encajar
firmemente y las engüetas de tensión deben soportarlo apretado en su lugar.
3. Para quitarlo – coloque el pulgar en la hendidura y deslice el señuelo hacia fuera. Deseche adecuadamente en un bote de basura.
LIMPIEZA
Como la unidad mata insectos, la mayoría de sus restos serán vaporizados o caerán a través de la unidad. Algunos restos se quedarán en las rejillas o se
acumularán en la base de la unidad. Esto puede reducir la eficacia del dispositivo. Revise su unidad frecuentemente y límpiela con regularidad. El tiempo
entre cada limpieza variará dependiendo de la población de insectos.
1. Desenchufe y retire la unidad completa de su posición colgante.
2. Retire la bombilla de la unidad para evitar daños (vea las instrucciones anteriores).
3. Utilizando una brocha pequeña o una varilla, mueva con cuidado todos los restos de insectos de la parte inferior de la tapa de la bombilla y del recinto.
4. Si cuenta con aire comprimido, puede usarlo para limpiar la unidad.
5. Nunca utilice agua para limpiar la unidad. El agua puede dañar los componentes eléctricos.
6. Tenga mucho cuidado de no mover o ajustar de ninguna manera las rejillas de metal.
7. Una vez que la unidad esté limpia cambie la bombilla, vuelva a colocar la unidad en su posición colgante y conéctela a la fuente de energía.
Nota: Si la unidad no se enciende después de cambiar la bombilla, desconecte la unidad, bájela, retire la bombilla y vuélvala a colocar en el portabombillas.

INSTALACIÓN DEL SEÑUELO DE MOSQUITO NOSQUITO®
1. Desconecte y retire toda la unidad de su posición colgante.
2. Voltee la unidad boca abajo. NO APOYE LA UNIDAD EN LA SUPERFICIE SIN DEJAR DE SOSTENERLA.
No se detendrá por si sola.
3. Use su pulgar para presionar la lengüeta y abrir la tapa de la bombilla.
4. Para remover la bombilla vieja, jálela.
5. Inserte la bombilla nueva asegurando que esté debidamente colocada en el portabombillas.
6. Cierre la tapa de la bombilla encajándola a presión en su lugar.
7. Coloque la unidad nuevamente en su posición colgante y vuelva a enchufar en el cable de extensión.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Unit will not light, no apparent grid voltage
• Make sure the unit is plugged into working outlet
Unit will not light, grid has voltage
• Check bulb to make sure it is seated properly • Replace bulb if necessary
Unit appears to be working properly but insect population does not seem reduced
• Check surrounding area for sitting water, insects breed in these areas and should be eliminated at the source
• Allow more time. It will take some time for insects to nd the unit and also for there to be an impact on their reproductive cycle
• Try moving the unit to another area of the yard. If you are in between the unit and the source of the insects, they will have to y
by you to get to the unit and you may actually notice an increase in insects.
Unit is constantly arcing (sparking)
• Clean the unit per the instructions in this manual • The unit will arc upon plug in and then stabilize. This is normal.
(Model BK-300 only) The unit does not come on during the daytime.
• Check the sundown sensor which may be activated and only allows unit to operate dusk to dawn. See gures 2 and 3.

CHANGING BULBS (Figure 5)
Only use Stinger replacement bulbs. Bulbs should be replaced annually to maintain optimal UV effectiveness. Even though the bulb’s light may be visible
to you, its ability to attract insects diminishes over time. If the bulb fails to light or the color of the light changes to yellow or orange it is time to replace
the bulb. See PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS for bulb replacement type for your device.

Bulb contains mercury, dispose of properly.
3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
This Electronic Insect Control Device is warranted against defective material or workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Any
defective part will be, at the discretion of Kaz USA, Inc., repaired or replaced at no charge if the appliance has not been tampered with and has been used
according to these printed directions. The consumer is responsible for charges incurred to ship the defective unit to Kaz for repair/replacement. Retain your
receipt to prove warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights as well as other rights that vary from state to state or province to province.
If you experience unsatisfactory operation, first refer to the “Troubleshooting” section of this manual and follow those suggestions. If Troubleshooting
doesn’t work, please contact Kaz for repair instructions.

INSTALLING THE NOSQUITO®MOSQUITO LURE
CLEANING
As the unit kills insects, most of the insect remains will be vaporized or fall down through the unit. Some debris may be left on the killing grid or may
accumulate in the base of the unit. This may reduce the effectiveness of the device. Check your device frequently and clean the unit regularly. The time in
between each cleaning will vary depending on your insect population.
1. Unplug and remove entire unit from hanging position.
2. Remove bulb from unit to avoid damage (see instructions above).
3. Using a small brush or stick, gently remove any insect remains from the bottom of the bulb cap and enclosure.
4. If available, compressed air may be used to clean the unit.
5. Never use water to clean the unit. Water may damage the electrical components.
6. Be very careful not to move or adjust the metal killing grid in any way.
7. Once the unit is clean replace the bulb, return unit to hanging position and reconnect to power source.

INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD
Por favor lea estas instrucciones antes de utilizar el Mata Insectos Electricó Stinger y guarde para futuras referencias.
1. Este producto está equipado con un enchufe de 2 clavijas para encajar en el tipo de tomacorrientes apropiado.
Para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, sólo conecte en un tomacorriente correctamente instalado.
2. No introduzca los dedos o cualquier objeto extraño en la unidad mientras esté conectada a un tomacorriente.
3. Los insectos recolectados dentro de la unidad pueden contribuir a un incendio. Limpie con frecuencia los insectos muertos de la unidad.
4. No limpie este producto rociándolo con agua o con ningún otro líquido. No lo coloque en lugares donde pueda caer al agua, o cerca de materiales
inflamables.
5. Sólo para uso residencial en exteriores.
6. Cuando no esté en uso, guarde el producto bajo techo – lejos del alcance de los niños.
7. Siempre desconecte el enchufe antes de dar mantenimiento, limpiar, cambiar bombillas y cuando no esté en uso.
8. No maltrate el cable – nunca cargue la unidad por el cable. Desconecte la unidad estirando del enchufe – no del cable. Mantenga el cable alejado del
calor, aceite y bordes filosos.
9. Los cables de extensión utilizados con este producto deben estar marcados con las letras “W-A” y con una etiqueta que indique “Adecuado para Uso
con Artefactos para Exteriores”.
10. Use solo los cables de extensión con enchufe y receptáculos iguales al enchufe del producto. Reemplace o repare los cables dañados.
11. La capacidad eléctrica nominal del cable de extensión debe ser tan grande como la capacidad eléctrica nominal del producto.
12. Existen dispositivos disponibles para mantener la conexión entre el cable de extensión y el cable de alimentación. Las conexiones debe mantenerse
lejos del piso y secas.
13. No monte la unidad en una casa, en otros edificios, en plataformas o cerca del calor, gas, aceite y otros materiales inflamables.
CÓMO FUNCIONA EL MATA INSECTOS STINGER
El Mata Insectos Eléctrico Stinger está diseñado para atraer y exterminar una amplia variedad
de insectos voladores. La luz ultravioleta (UV) emitida por esta unidad está dentro del rango de
luminiscencia que ha probado ser eficaz para atraer a estos insectos. Los insectos son atraídos a la
luz y exterminados al ponerse en contacto con la rejilla interior cargada eléctricamente. Los insectos
caen al suelo a través de la base abierta. La jaula protectora exterior ayuda a impedir que las mascotas,
aves, mariposas y los dedos de los niños toquen las rejillas cargadas eléctricamente. La unidad es sólo
para uso exterior y puede soportar lluvia moderada. Para obtener mejores resultados, la unidad deberá
instalarse a principios de la primavera y dejarse en forma continua durante toda la estación.
ESCOGER UNA UBICACIÓN (Figure 1)
Al seleccionar una ubicación, debe recordar que los insectos serán atraídos a la unidad. Coloque la unidad alejada
unos 7.6 metros del área prevista para actividad humana. Coloque el mata insectos entre la fuente de insectos
(bosques, suministros de agua, tierras bajas, etc.) y el área a proteger. El modelo BK100 cubrirá eficazmente áreas de
1 acre. El modelo BK300 cubrirá eficazmente áreas de 1½ acres.

OPERACIÓN/INSTALACIÓN
1. Desempaque la unidad, guarde todos los materiales de empaque para almacenarla fuera de estación.
2. Seleccione la ubicación apropiada para colgar la unidad usando la información anterior.
Para el Modelo BK300 utilice el cable extra incluido en la caja para colgar la unidad.
3. Cuelgue la unidad aproximadamente a 2.10 metros por encima del suelo en un árbol, poste de montaje u otro objeto
vertical. Nunca monte la unidad en una casa y otro edificio.
4. Enchufe el cable en un cable de extensión compatible certificado para uso exterior.
5. La unidad estará ENCENDIDA una vez que sea conectada a una fuente de energía. La unidad no cuenta con un interruptor
de “ENCENDIDO/APAGADO”. Por favor deje pasar hasta 5 minutos para que la bombilla se encienda completamente.
6. El modelo BK300 tiene 2 ajustes – Operación de 24 horas y Operación Nocturna MR.
a. Para seleccionar la Operación de 24 horas, deslice hacia abajo el botón gris en la tapa de manera que cubra
el sensor de anochecer. La unidad permanecerá ENCENDIDA las 24 horas del día (Figure 2) .
b.
Para seleccionar la Operación Nocturna MR, deslice hacia arriba el botón gris, dejando descubierto
el sensor de anochecer (Figure 3).
La unidad se ENCENDERÁ automáticamente al anochecer, operará durante toda la noche y se APAGARÁ en la mañana.

Al usar el señuelo disponible aumentará la eficacia de la unidad agregando un aroma que ha demostrado atraer más insectos hacia la unidad.
8. Se recomienda que esta unidad sea puesta en uso a principios de la primavera y dejada hasta fines de otoño para maximizar el efecto .
9. La unidad está diseñada para soportar lluvia moderada pero se debe descolgar y guardar bajo techo en épocas de clima severo.

A NOsquito octenol lure by Stinger (NS16) is included with this unit. Research has shown that octenol is effective in attracting
many species of mosquitoes and biting flies. This lure has slow release properties and increases the effectiveness of
attracting insects to the unit. For best results, replace the lure every 30 days.
1. Open the lure by peeling off the foil lid.
2. All BK series models have a specially designed holder built into the base. Simply slide the lure into this holder with
the exposed octenol side facing into the device (Figure 4). The lure should fit snugly and the tension tabs should hold it
securely in place.
3. To remove – place thumb into recess and slide lure out. Discard appropriately in trash receptacle.
1. Unplug and remove entire unit from hanging position.
2. Turn the unit upside down. DO NOT REST THE UNIT ON SURFACE WITHOUT CONTINUING TO SUPPORT IT.
It will not stand on its own.
3. Use thumb to depress easy tab and open bulb cap.
4. Pull old bulb up to remove.
5. Insert new bulb making sure it is properly seated in the socket.
6. Close the bulb cap by snapping it back into place.
7. Place the unit back into the hanging position and plug into extension cord.
Note: If unit fails to light after replacing bulb, unplug unit, take it down, remove the bulb and reseat it in the socket.
