SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La unidad no enciende, no hay voltaje evidente en la rejilla
• Asegúrese que la unidad esté conectada en un tomacorriente operacional.
La unidad hace un leve zumbido cuando está conectada
• Esto es debido a los niveles de humedad relativa y es normal. Esto no afectará el desempeño.
La unidad no enciende, la rejilla tiene voltaje.

La unidad no se enciende durante el día
• Revise el Sensor de Anochecer, el cual puede estar activado y sólo permite que la unidad opere durante la noche. Vea las figuras 2 y 3.
La unidad está formando constantemente arcos eléctricos (chispas)
• Limpie la unidad según las instrucciones en este manual. La unidad formará arcos eléctricos al ser conectada y luego se estabilizará. Esto es normal.
La unidad parece estar operando adecuadamente pero la población de insectos no disminuye
• Revise los alrededores para saber si hay agua estancada, los insectos se reproducen en estas áreas y deben ser eliminados desde la fuente de origen.
• Permita que pase más tiempo. A algunos insectos les tomará cierto tiempo para encontrar la unidad y también para impartar en su ciclo de reproducción.

CAMBIO DE BOMBILLAS (Figura 6)
Sólo use la bombilla de reemplazo Tipo A de Stinger. Las bombillas deben ser cambiadas cada año para mantener eficacia UV óptima. Aunque la luz de la bombilla
pueda ser visible para usted, su capacidad para atraer insectos disminuye con el tiempo. Si la bombilla no enciende o el color de la luz cambia de amarillo a naranja es
tiempo de cambiar la bombilla.

INSTALACIÓN DEL SEÑUELO PARA MOSQUITOS NOSQUITO®
LIMPIEZA
A medida que la unidad mata a los insectos, la mayoría de sus restos serán vaporizados o caerán a través de la unidad. Algunos desechos pueden permanecer en la
rejilla exterminadora o pueden acumularse en la base de la unidad. Esto puede reducir la eficacia del dispositivo. Revise frecuentemente su aparato y limpie la unidad
con regularidad. El tiempo entre cada limpieza puede variar dependiendo de la población de insectos.
1. Desconecte y retire la unidad de su posición colgante.
2. Saque la bombilla de la unidad para evitar daño (vea las instrucciones).
3. Usando un cepillo pequeño o un palo, quite cuidadosamente cualquier resto de insectos de la bombilla y del recinto.
4. Si cuenta con aire comprimido, puede usarlo para limpiar la unidad.
5. Nunca use agua para limpiar la unidad. El agua puede dañar los componentes eléctricos.
6. Tenga mucho cuidado de no mover o ajustar la rejilla exterminadora de metal o de hacer contacto de ninguna manera con el tubo de cristal.
7. Una vez que la unidad esté limpia coloque la bombilla, vuelva a colgar la unidad y conéctela a la fuente de energía.
Un señuelo de octanol NOsquito de Stinger (NS16) está incluido con esta unidad. Las investigaciones muestran que el octanol es eficaz
en atraer muchas especies de mosquitos y moscas. Este señuelo tiene propiedades de liberación lenta y aumenta la eficacia en atraer
mosquitos/moscas a la unidad. Para mejores resultados, cambie el señuelo cada 30 días.
1. Abra el señuelo retirando la cubierta de aluminio.
2. Todos los modelos de las series BK tienen un sujetador especialmente diseñado integrado en la base. Simplemente deslice el señuelo

2. Voltee la unidad boca abajo. NO DEJE DE SUJETAR LA UNIDAD SI LA COLOCA SOBRE UNA SUPERFICIE. No se sostendrá por si sola.
3. Use su pulgar para presionar la lengüeta y abrir la tapa de la bombilla.
4. Jale hacia arriba para sacar la bombilla vieja.
5. Inserte la bombilla nueva asegurándose que esté bien colocada en el portabombillas.
6. Cierre la tapa de la bombilla encajándola de vuelta en su lugar.
7. Coloque la unidad de vuelta en su posición colgante y conéctela al cable de extensión.
Nota: Si la unidad no enciende después de cambiar la bombilla, baje la unidad, quite la bombilla y vuélvala a acomodar en el portabombillas.

BK500 Series
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions before using the Stinger Electric Insect Killer and keep for future reference.
1. This product is equipped with a 2-prong plug to fit the proper type receptacles.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, only plug into a properly installed outlet.
2. Do not insert fingers or any foreign objects into the unit while it is connected to an electrical outlet.
3. Collected insects within the unit may contribute to fire. Clean dead insects from the unit frequently.
4. Do not clean this product with water, spray or any other liquids. Do not place where it can fall into water, or near flammable materials.
5. For outdoor residential use only.
6. Store product indoors when not in use – out of reach of children.
7. Always disconnect plug before servicing, cleaning, changing bulbs and when not in use.
8. Do not abuse cord – never carry unit by cord. Unplug unit by pulling on the plug - not the cord. Keep cord away from heat, oil, or sharp edges.
9. Extension cords used with this product must be marked with suffix letters “W-A” and with a tag stating “Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliances”.
10. Use only extension cords that have plug and receptacles that match the product plug. Replace or repair damaged cords.
11. Electrical rating of the extension cord must be as great as the electrical rating of the product.
12. There are devices available for retaining a connection between an extension cord and a power supply cord.
Connections should be kept off the ground and dry.
13. Do not mount the unit on house, other buildings, on decks or near heat, gas, oil or other flammable materials.
The Stinger 5-in-1 Mosquito Kill System Insect Killer is uniquely designed to attract and kill a wide range of
flying insects, including mosquitoes. Breakthrough technology uses light cycling, heat and scent for optimum
results. The BK500 Series models kill 2X more mosquitoes than other Stinger Insect Killers. How it works
is the black ultraviolet (UV) light attracts light sensitive flying insects from a distance and lures them to the
device. While the bright light attracts insects from a distance it may actually repel mosquitoes at close
range. When the device is in Mosquito Mode, the black UV light cycles off, changing the light patterns at
predetermined and proven effective intervals to specifically attract biting mosquitoes in close proximity. The
green LED lights remain on continuing to provide light attraction for mosquitoes. The thermal lure and the
NOsquito®octenol lure provide additional attraction for flying insects by simulating human breath and body
heat. Finally, the single kill grid is designed to more effectively kill small nuisance insects and reduce clogging.
CHOOSING A LOCATION (Figure 1)
When selecting a location, please remember that insects will be lured to the unit. Place the unit about 25 feet away
from the area intended for human activity. Position the insect killer between the source of insects (woods, water supply,
lowlands, etc.) and the area to be protected. The BK500 Series models will effectively cover a 1 acre area.

INSTALLATION/OPERATION
1. Unpack unit, save all packaging material for off-season storage. DO NOT REST THE UNIT ON SURFACE WITHOUT CONTINUING
TO SUPPORT IT. It will not stand on its own.
2. Select the proper location to hang the unit using the using the guidelines listed above.
Use the bonus cord included in the box to hang the unit.
3. Hang the unit approximately 7 feet above the ground from a tree, mounting pole or other free standing object.
Never mount or hang the unit from a house or other building.
4. Plug the cord into a compatible extension cord rated for outdoor use.
5. The BK500 Series models have 2 time settings – 24 Hour Operation and Dusk to Dawn Operation.
a. To select 24 Hour Operation, slide the large gray button on the cap down so that it covers the
Sundown Sensor. The unit will remain on 24 hours a day (Figure 2).
b. To select Dusk to Dawn Operation, slide the large gray button up, revealing the Sundown Sensor.
The button will align with the marking (Figure 3). The unit will automatically turn ON at dusk,
operate through the night and turn OFF in the morning, saving energy by operating only when insects are most active.
6. The BK500 Series models have the advanced option of Mosquito Kill Mode. To set in Mosquito Mode slide the smaller gray button
up so that it is aligned with the marking (Figure 4). Setting the unit in Mosquito Mode will activate the interval light
cycling to increase the mosquito kill.
7. See INSTALLING THE NOSQUITO MOSQUITO LURE section. Using the lure will add to the effectiveness of the unit by adding
scent proven to attract more mosquitoes and biting flies to the unit.
8. It is recommended that this unit be put to use in early spring and left out until late fall to maximize effects.
9. The unit is designed to withstand moderate rain but should be taken down and stored indoors during severe weather.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Unit will not light, no apparent grid voltage
• Make sure the unit is plugged into a working outlet.
Unit makes a slight humming sound when plugged in
• This is due to relative humidity levels and is normal. This will not impact performance.
Unit will not light, grid has voltage
• Check bulb to make sure it is seated properly. Replace bulb if necessary.
Unit does not come on during the daytime
• Check the Sundown Sensor which may be activated and only allows the unit to operate dusk to dawn. See figures 2 and 3.
Unit is constantly arcing (sparking)
• Clean the unit per the instructions in this manual. The unit will arc upon plug in and then stabilize. This is normal.
Unit appears to be working properly but insect population does not seem reduced
• Check surrounding area for sitting water, insects breed in these areas and should be eliminated at the source.
• Allow more time. It will take some time for insects to find the unit and also for there to be an impact on their reproductive cycle.
• Try moving the unit to another area of the yard. If you are in between the unit and the source of the insects, they will have to fly by
you to get to the unit and you may actually notice an increase in insects.

CHANGING BULBS (Figure 6)
Only use Stinger replacement bulb Type A. Bulbs should be replaced annually to maintain optimal UV effectiveness. Even though the bulb’s light may
be visible to you, its ability to attract insects diminishes over time. If the bulb fails to light or the color of the light changes to yellow or orange it is time to
replace the bulb.

Bulb contains mercury, dispose of properly.
3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
This Electric Insect Control Device is warranted against defective material or workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Any
defective part will be, at the discretion of Kaz USA, Inc., repaired or replaced at no charge if the appliance has not been tampered with and has been used
according to these printed directions. The consumer is responsible for charges incurred to ship the defective unit to Kaz for repair/replacement. Retain your
receipt to prove warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights as well as other rights that vary from state to state.
If you experience unsatisfactory operation, first refer to the “Troubleshooting” section of this manual and follow those suggestions. If Troubleshooting doesn’t
work, please contact Kaz for repair instructions.

INSTALLING THE NOSQUITO®MOSQUITO LURE
CLEANING
As the unit kills insects, most of the insect remains will be vaporized or fall down through the unit. Some debris may be left on the killing grid or may accumulate
in the base of the unit. This may reduce the effectiveness of the device. Check your device frequently and clean the unit regularly. The time in between each
cleaning will vary depending on your insect population.
1. Unplug and remove entire unit from hanging position.
2. Remove bulb from unit to avoid damage (see instructions).
3. Using a small brush or stick, gently remove any insect remains from the bottom of the bulb cap and enclosure.
4. If available, compressed air may be used to clean the unit.
5. Never use water to clean the unit. Water may damage the electrical components.
6. Be very careful not to move or adjust the metal killing grid or make contact with the glass tube in any way.
7. Once the unit is clean replace the bulb, return unit to hanging position and reconnect to power source.
A NOsquito octenol lure by Stinger (NS16) is included with this unit. Research has shown that octenol is effective in attracting many
species of mosquitoes and biting flies. This lure has slow release properties and increases the effectiveness in attracting mosquitoes/
biting flies to the unit. For best results, replace the lure every 30 days.
1. Open the lure by peeling off the foil lid.
2. All BK series models have a specially designed holder built into the base. Simply slide the lure into this holder with the exposed
octenol side facing in to the device (Figure 5). The lure should fit snugly and the tension tabs should hold it securely in place.
3. To remove – place thumb into recess and slide lure out. Discard appropriately in trash receptacle.
1. Unplug and remove entire unit from hanging position.
2. Turn the unit upside down. DO NOT REST THE UNIT ON SURFACE WITHOUT CONTINUING TO SUPPORT IT.
It will not stand on its own.
3. Use thumb to depress easy tab and open bulb cap.
4. Pull old bulb up to remove.
5. Insert new bulb making sure it is properly seated in the socket.
6. Close the bulb cap by snapping it back into place.
7. Place the unit back into the hanging position and plug into extension cord.
Note: If unit fails to light after replacing bulb, take unit down, remove the bulb and reseat it in the socket.

Por favor lea estas instrucciones antes de usar el Mata Insectos Eléctrico Stinger y guarde para futuras referencias.
1. Este producto está equipado con un enchufe de 2 clavijas para encajar en los tomacorrientes apropiados.
Para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, sólo conecte en un tomacorriente correctamente instalado.
2. No introduzca los dedos o cualquier objeto extraño en la unidad mientras esté conectada a un tomacorriente.
3. Los insectos recolectados dentro de la unidad pueden ocasionar incendio. Retire frecuentemente los insectos muertos de la unidad.
4. No limpie este producto con agua, atomizador o cualquier otro líquido. No lo coloque donde se pueda caer en el agua, o cerca de materiales inflamables.
5. Sólo para uso residencial en exteriores.
6. Almacene el producto bajo techo cuando no esté en uso - lejos del alcance de los niños.
7. Siempre desconecte el enchufe antes de dar mantenimiento, limpiar, cambiar bombillas y cuando no esté en uso.
8. No maltrate el cable - nunca cargue la unidad por el cable. Desconecte la unidad jalando del enchufe - no del cable. Mantenga el cable lejos del calor, aceite o
bordes afilados.
9. Los cables de extensión usados con este producto deben estar marcados con las letras “W-A” y con una etiqueta declarando “Apropiado para Uso con Aparatos
para Exteriores”.
10. Use sólo con cables de extensión que tengan enchufes y receptáculos compatibles con el enchufe del producto. Cambie o repare los cables dañados.
11. La capacidad eléctrica nominal del cable de extensión debe ser tan grande como la del producto.
12. Existen aparatos disponibles para mantener la conexión entre el cable de extensión y el cable de corriente.
Las conexiones se deben mantener lejos del suelo y secas.
13. No monte la unidad en la casa, otros edificios, en terrazas o cerca del calor, gas, aceite u otros materiales inflamables.
El Sistema Stinger Mata Mosquitos 5 en 1 es diseñado especialmente para atraer y matar una amplia variedad de
insectos voladores, incluyendo mosquitos. La tecnología avanzada utiliza ciclos de luz, calor y aroma para mejores
resultados. Los modelos de la serie BK500 matan a 2 veces más mosquitos que otros Mata Insectos Stinger. Como
funciona es atrayendo desde la distancia con la luz negra ultravioleta (UV) a los insectos voladores sensibles a la luz y
acercándolos al dispositivo. Aunque la luz brillante atrae a los insectos desde la distancia puede repeler a los mosquitos
que están cerca. Cuando el dispositivo esté en Modo Mosquito, la luz negra UV dejará de ciclar, cambiando los patrones
de luz a los intervalos predeterminados y con eficacia comprobada para atraer especificamente a los mosquitos que
están cerca. Las luces verdes LED permanecen constantemente encendidas para proporcionar luz atrayente para los
mosquitos. El señuelo térmico y el señuelo de octanol NOsquito®proporcionan atracción adicional para los insectos
voladores al simular el aliento humano y el calor corporal. Finalmente, la rejilla exterminadora está diseñada para matar
con mayor eficacia los molestos insectos pequeños y reducir las obstrucciones.
ESCOJER UNA UBICACIÓN (Figura 1)
Cuando seleccione una ubicación, por favor recuerde que los insectos serán atraídos a la unidad. Coloque la unidad alejada al menos
7.6 m (25 pies) del área destinada a la actividad humana. Coloque el mata insectos entre la fuente de insectos (bosques, suministro de
agua, tierras bajas, etc.) y el área a proteger. Los modelos de la serie BK500 cubrirá eficazmente un 1 acre de área.

INSTALACIÓN/OPERACIÓN
1. Desempaque la unidad, guarde todo el material de empaque para almacenar al final de la temporada. NO DEJE DE SUJETAR LA
UNIDAD SI LA COLOCA SOBRE UNA SUPERFICIE. No se sostedrá por si sola.
2. Seleccione la ubicación adecuada para colgar la unidad utilizando las pautas mencionadas anteriormente.
Use el cable extra incluido en la caja para colgar la unidad.
3. Cuelgue la unidad aproximadamente a 2 m (7 pies) de altura sobre el suelo en un árbol, poste de montaje u otro objeto independiente.
Nunca monte o cuelgue la unidad de una casa u otro edificio.
4. Conecte el cable a un cable de extensión compatible para uso en exteriores.
5. Los modelos de la serie BK500 tienen 2 ajustes de tiempo – Operación de 24 Horas y Operación Anochecer a Amanecer .
a. Para seleccionar la Operación de 24 Horas, en la parte superior, deslice el botón grande gris de manera que cubra el Sensor
de Anochecer. La unidad permanecerá encendida las 24 horas del día (Figura 2).
b. Para seleccionar la Operación Anochecer y Amanecer , deslice el botón grande gris hacia arriba, descubriendo el
Sensor de Anocher. El botón se alineará con la marca (Figura 3). La unidad se ENCENDERÁ automáticamente al
anochecer, operará durante la noche y se APAGARÁ en la mañana, ahorrando energía al operar sólo cuando los insectos
están más activos.
6. Los modelos de la serie BK500 tienen la opción avanzada de Modo Mata Mosquitos. Para ajustar el Modo Mosquito deslice el botón
gris más pequeño hacia arriba para que se alinee con la marca (Figura 4). Ajustar la unidad al Modo Mosquito activará el
intervalo de ciclo de luz para aumentar el exterminio de mosquitos.
7. Vea la sección INSTALACIÓN DEL SEÑUELO PARA MOSQUITOS NOSQUITO. Usar el señuelo aumentará la eficacia de la unidad
agregando aroma comprobado para atraer más mosquitos y moscas a la unidad.
8. Es recomendable que la unidad se use al inicio de la primavera y se deje operando hasta finalizar el otoño para maximizar sus efectos.
9. La unidad está diseñada para soportar la lluvia moderada pero debe ser desmontado y almacenarlo bajo techo durante el mal tiempo.
