START GUIDE
Welcome to
MODELIFE!
LIVE FREE.
EXPLORE ENDLESSLY.
TELL BETTER STORIES.
This Quick Start Guide should be a handy tool for basic
information about the MODE. For more thorough information,
check out the full User Guide provided with the vehicle
and available on StorytellerOverland.com.
Power up the M-Power Energy
Storage System (ESS)
Switch the inverter on or off
SYSTEM
ON/OFF
Push the Volta button to turn on the M-Power
ESS to operate such things as the cabin lights,
outlets, water systems, heating and cooling.
Press the inverter button and then toggle the inverter on or
off as needed. This is located on the Volta Screen’s inverter
control screen. To save power, keep the inverter off when
the 110V system is not needed.
The inverter must be on to operate the following:

Charge the M-Power System
Option 1 Plug into shore power. The system will automatically charge
when plugged into shore power. The charge rate can be changed from
the Volta screen and should be set 5A below the shore power available to
avoid tripping the shore power circuit. See User Guide for additional details.
Option 2 Drive with the M-Power System on. Engine must be over 1500 RPM
to charge. The solar panels can add energy when the M-Power System is on,
but not enough to operate the larger items.
MODE COM Control System
Turn on the lights
Lights can be controlled through the MODE COM screen or
switches located throughout the vehicle. For physical switches,
the following functions are available (except on the reading lights):
✦
Single tap—turns off/on (back to last setting)
✦
Double tap—returns to full brightness
✦
Press & hold—dims
NWith M-Power on, touch
the MODE COM screen
anywhere to wake it up.
NTouch the Storyteller icon
to put the screen to sleep.
There is a
Master Light
Switch
on the dash.

Cabin Climate Control
Select A/C or Heat from the MODE COM home screen, then set your target temp
using the UP/DOWN arrows. Remember, the inverter must be on to run the A/C.
✦
The heating system takes a few minutes to reach operating temperature.
✦
For optimal heating, open the heater vents on the GrooveLounge
base and under the water control panel.
Cool the cabin without A/C
Create Cross Ventilation when using the exhaust fan by opening a window.
This makes the ceiling exhaust fan more effective.
